I saw this article on Saturday last week. Come to find out that some of them came from the same law office. This law office supported hundreds in Gitmo and freed a great deal that are back in the act of terrorism against the US. Oh did I forget to mention that this same law office is where Obama found Eric Holder.

A little more detail would have been helpful, since there is a big difference between being an assigned public defender and seeking out the chance to represent someone reprehensible because it (1) might lead to fame, (2) aligns with one’s own views, or (3) kill two birds with one stone and get both.
Everyone seems to assume that it’s (2), but don’t ignore the possibility of (1). Grandstanding for personal gain or for ideology makes them unfit for their position in DOJ. If they were assigned as public defenders, I’d cut them some slack.
The reason that (2) jumps to mind so easily is that it fits in with an established pattern of being soft on terrorists.
Someday Holder will be wearing an orange jump suit.
