This is EXACTLY why the founders created the 2/3 votes majority: so that the sane and right-thinking among the lawmakers would be REQUIRED to write and agree upon balanced legislation for the benefit of the millions of Americans who would be bound by that legislation. The only other option was to write no legislation at all, which was just as agreeable to the founders who sought to limit the power of government and, thus, tyranny.

“Public Option” vs. “big taxpayer giveaway to the health insurance companies”……………The Senate is owned by the insurance companies….Dodd, Leiberman (the Senator from Aetna), Lincoln, Bayh, Conrad, Nelson……..Ask why did Coakley (D) get big backing vs Brown from health insurers?
Who got the most campaign funds from the health insurers? Democrats by a long ways. The liberal base hates this. Obama may have a problem w/ this as well. The liberal base hates the special interest influence on his push for the “taxpayer giveaway to the health insurers” that is in the Senate bill.

This is the biggest debacle in all of Congressional History because the people don’t want this to pass, the polls show it, the elections show it, and yet they will vote for it anyway. There is federally funded abortion in there and so some of the Dems are mad and won’t vote, we will see. The bill kills the deficit and the Republicans don’t want it, where are the Democrats. The bill can not pass if people are honest with others.
Why would they change it for a few house members when the Senate got what they wanted by passing this bill.
