Gov. Christie Brings Common Sense to ‘Today’ Show

“I don’t think you can lead out of fear.”

July 28, 2010 at 10:25 am - NBC
Dateline: New York
Baloshka   July 28th, 2010 - 10:31 am

I thought this was going to be a Chris Christie interview. Instead, it is another Matt Lauer monologue.

As for Obama's "core principles": http://www.breitbart.tv/rampaging-kenyan-mob-burn...

mariodebarrio   July 28th, 2010 - 5:35 pm

The Anit Bill Richardson. Go Chris!

Goo   July 28th, 2010 - 5:35 pm

Matt Lauer makes a 3 year old seem intelligent.

smellyfinger   July 28th, 2010 - 10:35 am

I pray for Gov. Christie everyday,
I pray he is our next President.
Memo to Matt:
Shut up fo one min.

UrinalMint   July 28th, 2010 - 5:37 pm

Mrs. Lauer had a little boy named Matt
Who grew up to be a liberal MSM brat
The intellectualism he tries to spread
Is as sparse as the hair on his head
And that is all Forrest had to say about that.

DwightWannabe   July 28th, 2010 - 5:50 pm

SNL TWO GAY GUYS FROM NEW JERSEY: "I love you, you big, beautiful, sunuvabitch!" *Kiss* *Kiss*

Hardciderarrest   July 28th, 2010 - 5:53 pm

Chris Christie is definitly a breath of fresh air for the Republican party.

catzmeow   July 28th, 2010 - 5:54 pm

Very impressed with NJ Governor Christie and I completely agree with him about that insipid, puerile show, "Jersey Shore Pukes".

clamdigger53   July 28th, 2010 - 5:56 pm

GOOD ONE!

NewBlackPamper   July 28th, 2010 - 10:56 am

Wow. I love the way this guy has basically says "Hey, you are adults. This is how it is. Screw political correctness." 49 more Governors like this, and a couple hundred like him in D.C would fix problems at lightspeed. I'm surprised that it was NJ who pulled their head out of their ass, but I applaud them for doing so. I wish he was my Governor.

DizzieLizzie66   July 28th, 2010 - 5:58 pm

Typical. He's just another liberal blowhard.

Eileen for Freedom   July 28th, 2010 - 5:59 pm

PaulLThompson   July 28th, 2010 - 11:01 am

To bring a new low to the statesmanship of the Office of President, after ignoring the 100th anniversary of the Boy Scouts to appear on 'The View", Obama will outdo himself skipping all Veteran's Day events to appear on the 'Jerry Springer' show.

DizzieLizzie66   July 28th, 2010 - 6:02 pm

Why should teachers be compensated for their education? My nephew has 80K in loans. Who's going to pay for that? Him. It's called personal responsibility and ethical behavior by paying it back. I wonder if these arrogant people know the meaning of those things. It's time that they drop their elitist attitudes and pay up like the rest of us. The people are tired of unions getting a free ride.

Hailodumbo   July 28th, 2010 - 6:02 pm

Gov Christie has become a concern for Liberals. He hasl become more of a target of the liberal attacks and lies. He is doing a great job. Many should follow his lead.

Common_Man   July 28th, 2010 - 6:04 pm

Matt Lauer warns Gov. Christie that the teachers are a "tough group to take on." What he should have said is "the teachers union is a tough group to take on." But he wouldn't dare say that!

HAHAalgoreHAHA   July 28th, 2010 - 6:05 pm

KEEP IT UP CHRISTIE!!! Good grief it's soooooooooooooooo nice to hear common sense, truth, reality, etc. I hope more governors follow his lead. Political correctness is SO INCORRECT and terribly destructive. Christie is a BUILDER, Obama and his administration are the wrecking balls.

The truth is that what Christie is saying should be answered with nothing more than, "WELL DUH"!!! OK, then, "thank you". :)

“DISARMING AMERICA”

By Sheriff Jim R. Schwiesow, Ret.
June 27, 2010

A determined campaign is being waged in the United States that is perpetuated by the Godless humanists who endeavor, at the leading of Satan the greatest criminal mind in the Universe, to pave the way to a sheer control of the people and to establish the United States as a constituent of a one-world order.

"Teachers do it because they love it" – LOL!!!!! Yah, that's why in the previous sentence that teacher said she needs to be compensated for her education and experience. Nice entitlement mentality and denial of her own greed. FAIL.

Matt Taibbi on how Goldman Sachs has engineered every major market manipulation since the Great Depression.
In Rolling Stone issue 1082-83, Matt Taibbi takes on “the Wall Street Bubble Mafia” – investment bank Goldman Sachs. The piece has generated controversy, with Goldman Sachs firing back that Taibbi’s piece is “an hysterical compilation of conspiracy theories” and a spokesman adding, “We reject the assertion that we are inflators of bubbles and profiteers in busts, and we are painfully conscious of the importance in being a force for good.” Taibbi shot back: “Goldman has its alumni pushing its views from the pulpit of the U.S. Treasury, the NYSE, the World Bank, and numerous other important posts; it also has former players fronting major TV shows. They have the ear of the president if they want it.”

txFirehawk   July 28th, 2010 - 6:43 pm

I would sleep sooooo good if we had a Gov. Christie in every state.. God bless you Governor!

txFirehawk   July 28th, 2010 - 6:44 pm

That was pretty good.

DontTreadOnMe   July 28th, 2010 - 6:45 pm

He's not a Michael Moore levels of obesity yet, so it's OK.
Thanks for the concern, though. You can go back to being a douchebag now.

TexasStomp   July 28th, 2010 - 6:47 pm

Christie is the GOLD STANDARD for Tea Party American Values and common sense gov't.

and the single most persuasive argument for HUMAN CLONING! Can you IMAGINE what America would be like with a congress FULL OF CHRISTIES?

an no cheap shots about the weight, K. I love every pound of this man and would DIE for a candidate like him for AZ Senate or congress. DIE! Which….since I live near the border is SAYIN SOMETHIN, lol!

You keep goin Chris! When Jersey's out of debt and California is STILL sucking the life out of America you guys can laugh all the way to the bank!

TalkingDust   July 28th, 2010 - 6:49 pm

As Darth said of Luke's Jedi skills: "Impressive. Most impressive."

vince_from_NJ   July 28th, 2010 - 6:50 pm

She'd make a great coach for the Debate Team. I hear there's a decent stipend.

CBrooks1976   July 28th, 2010 - 6:58 pm

What the hell are you talking about?
You and I both know you want him so bad you can taste him.

You can lie to us but you can lie to yourself.

CBrooks1976   July 28th, 2010 - 7:05 pm

So Gov. Christie was inspired by Regan…….thats what John McCain said.
Who do you believe? :)

BFPA61   July 28th, 2010 - 7:08 pm

Have'nt you noticed. He is losing weight. So try to have some of that self proclaimed compassion and support that you progressive Ass-Wipes claim to be all about. He's cleaning out the waste in his state and his own body. Good for him!!!!!

kmichaels   July 28th, 2010 - 7:10 pm

hey, un comical ass, go to hell, worthless troll.

Sister_Mary   July 28th, 2010 - 12:12 pm

McCain had 20+ years to fix things … Good-bye …

Of all people you would figure he would be the one saying "Go in, kiss that a$$$ and get out" – His problem is that he got stuck in the 60's with the Clintons, Ayers and military hating America …

sunflowers   July 28th, 2010 - 7:13 pm

dc to fall off a very tall cliff

THIMK   July 28th, 2010 - 7:28 pm

Typical liberal reply….You know you'd get your butt kicked debating issues so you attack someone's appearance or scream "racist". You lose again.

clemente21   July 28th, 2010 - 7:30 pm

I haven't seen this guy say anything that I do not endorse – EVER. Well, maybe 125+ Bruce Springsteen concerts is a bit over the top but I'll give him some slack…At least Bruce is from New Jersey!

BrendaC   July 28th, 2010 - 12:40 pm

I've been thinking the same thing. The interview he had with Jake Tapper on This Week went well but I felt like Jake was trying to get Christie to screw up so that the Demoncrats would have a sound bite. They see Christie is favoured greatly and they need to dis-credit him. I hope he's careful. I'm from MS and I sent Christie money for his campaign because I felt like he got it plus the fact Corzine is a crook.

doubldwn   July 28th, 2010 - 7:42 pm

Too bad he did not show the clip of Christie talking about the teacher who contributes less than $50,000 to her pension over her career yet will withdraw over $1,100,000 in pension benefits and an additional $350,000 in health care benefits. Guess that would awaken too many people.

BrendaC   July 28th, 2010 - 7:44 pm

BE CAREFUL Gov Christie, the liberal thugs are looking for a sound-bite to dis-credit you anyway they can. BE VERY CAREFUL!!!

TexasStomp   July 28th, 2010 - 7:45 pm

jellyman,

duuuudddde…..have you not HEARD the bubbleheaded crap comin from Cali politicians??? There IS NO HOPE FOR THAT STATE….NONE AT ALL. GONERS. TOAST. SAY G'NITE GRACIE.

puck30   July 28th, 2010 - 7:54 pm

Snooki & The Situation? There's soo much a Governor can take. LOL!

Well One thing Reagan use to end all his interviews and speeches with something that would make you laugh or smile. Christie still has a way to go, but so far he is looking like the real deal.

If he brings back Jersey and turns it in the place to be and work, anything is possible for this man.

papakono   July 28th, 2010 - 7:55 pm

President Christie, has a great ring to it. Vice-president Palin, or Coulter, or Prager, or dare I say it, BECK.

grapejelly   July 28th, 2010 - 8:10 pm

Yeah, I know, but I saw the little revolution in Bell and it gave me just a glimmer of hope. Kind of lost site for a minute, please forgive me!

Besides, I don't want you to die. We would have one less person to give these idiot trolls living Hell. We Need You!!

I been slinging crap with this TarHeels idiot for the last 2 hours. That is one dumb sumbitch. There ain't no way he's from the South.

Patton5   July 28th, 2010 - 8:19 pm

The entire country hopes Chris Christie's ideas are contagious, along with Gov. Jan Brewer and all those who are trying to save our Constitutional Republic from Obama/minions and their inarticulated insanity, hopefully there is a cure for that disease in November.

Temple62   July 28th, 2010 - 8:36 pm

His response to teachers was "Classic" and has been a long time coming. My next door neighbors leave car tires and card board boxes in front of their house. In conversation they defended their trash by saying, "We are teachers" as if they are special and allowed to litter. Teachers should know better and teacher should understand there are no guarantees for salaries anymore.

AbidingDude   July 28th, 2010 - 8:45 pm

Choose Your Favorite:

Chris Christie, a gifted speaker who motivates his audience with his intelligence, command of the subject matter, and straightforward yet affable delivery.

- or –

Barack Obama, a gifted speaker who motivates his audience with imagery and passionate delivery.

I pick Christie. I'd love to see the two of them debate in October 2011. Like fish in a barrel…

WeimarAgain   July 28th, 2010 - 8:50 pm

Christie's truth is blinding to the left..they must stop him or be exposed for the reprobates they are.

jpsaid   July 28th, 2010 - 8:51 pm

When can he run in California? Would vote for him in a heartbeat.

WeimarAgain   July 28th, 2010 - 8:58 pm

Thank you Matt Lauer!! – for exposing the perverse dogma of your leftist affliction.
Please repeat the show again.
Hmm..I wonder if Christie would appear with Blessed Obama on the View?
Naw..that would make ZERO uncomfortable and we don't want to upset The Candyman, do we?

semperfi46   July 28th, 2010 - 9:06 pm

This a a guy with good common sense that needs to be recruited for national office. If we had more politicans like him and less like Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Rangel and Dodd-think how much better we would all be!

semperfi46   July 28th, 2010 - 9:09 pm

He walks the walk and Socialist Dems hate him for it and will probably destroy him for it! If he fails, Jersey deserves what will happen to them with their insane fiscal, pension and tax policies!

semperfi46   July 28th, 2010 - 9:11 pm

God bless him and watch over him-he will need it with all those parasites in Jersey that want "free stuff" forever!

gwar5   July 28th, 2010 - 9:44 pm

Matt Lauer is a total tool. Christie is great. Lauer tried to get him to endorse Obama's small business destroyer plan.
.

0__0   July 28th, 2010 - 10:08 pm

The ONLY politician in the U.S. today that tells it the way it is. Political agendas bounce off his chest like bullets off of Superman's chest. He disarms people like Matt Lauer. Good Lord, I like him a lot. We need a president like this to lead us out of our miserable downfall.

0__0   July 28th, 2010 - 10:13 pm

Typical Huffington Clone. Is this all you have? This is laughable. You guys are ON THE WAY OUT and you know it – and all you got is fat jokes. I am laughing at you right now.

you're attempt at misdirecting the narrative is borderline infantile !!!

oldpat   July 28th, 2010 - 10:19 pm

oldpat   July 28th, 2010 - 10:19 pm

thats a fact…however, when he left the set, he also took the common sense with him…

barb830   July 28th, 2010 - 10:45 pm

I would love for him to lose some weight so he can be around to run this country. We need him to be healthy. I love this guy!

barb830   July 28th, 2010 - 10:49 pm

Now now, it is not nice to make fun of people's weight! The rules of the left… oh wait that is only for the Rs. The Ds can do as they wish. Might be a good idea to LISTEN to him rather than poke fun at him… just an idea.

I can only imagine the look of confusion on my employer's face if I walked into her office and asked to be paid for my education. WTF?

And this dumb-a$$ is in charge of a roomful of kids for 7 hours a day! Sheeesh!

LOL, 88,

I thought it was just me gittin old, seriously, but when I hear some of the crap they say come out of their mouths my jaw hits the floor and I just stand there unable to imagine what the hell goes on in their minds. These people make idiots look good. They utter disconnect from the reality of every day NORMAL life is just stunning. They literally cannot get HERE from THERE.

And THAT should scare the hell outta anyone who stops and THINKS about that for a minute.
