Keep fighting the good fight, Gov. Brewer!!

mtv22   July 28th, 2010 - 4:00 pm

Hold your head up Governor, you're on the right side of this issue, hands down. Agree, Gov. Brewer, the Feds need to enforce the rule of law instead of promoting lawlessness. The majority of Americans are in agreement with the state of Arizona and Gov. Brewer.

300Mhz   July 28th, 2010 - 11:06 pm

Thank god…replacing my landscaper would have been a pain in the ass

UrinalMint   July 28th, 2010 - 11:08 pm

The brave people of Arizona and Governor Brewer
There are more people in your corner, not fewer
This judge would make this law legal
If one of her family were raped, maimed, or killed by an illegal
Instead she made a ruling that belongs in the sewer

GO ARIZONA!!

NYCarchitect   July 28th, 2010 - 11:12 pm

That's exactly right Governor, the Feds have to step up and do their job. Because it's a federal issue, not a state issue.

Goo   July 28th, 2010 - 11:12 pm

The trolls are back. Have your Cheetos and go to sleep.

Fight these Marxists with everything you have. The line in the sand must be drawn.

Free_Market   July 28th, 2010 - 11:13 pm

If your landscaper is not a legal Citizen, than replacing him/her would be American.

water_buffalo   July 28th, 2010 - 11:13 pm

This is about the rule of law …. this is a step towards a national police force ,controled by obama, to intimidate law abiding people …leading to a civil war… this is a another step towards a dictatorship…. God help us

NYCarchitect   July 28th, 2010 - 11:13 pm

Anyone for smaller government and lower taxes is NOT in agreement with Governor Brewer.

Rover_Bump   July 28th, 2010 - 11:15 pm

Arizona has to do the job itself. The Feds, being Feds, would just give the illegals shelter, food, and instructions for voting Democrat.

Missy8s   July 28th, 2010 - 11:17 pm

IMPEACH CHAIRMAN O NOW!

300Mhz   July 28th, 2010 - 11:20 pm

Yeah but he has great weed too.

NYCarchitect   July 28th, 2010 - 11:20 pm

Why not take it a step further and cut out the middle man altogether? Just have the armed citizenry roam the streets and take care of the immigration problem themselves? Based on the comments on this website, it seems like the police, be them state or federal, just reduce the capacity of the freedom for the real Americans, right? I mean, come on, if your'e going to stand for something, don't stand for it half assed.

300Mhz   July 28th, 2010 - 11:21 pm

Don't you know common sense is kryptonite on these boards. If Glenn Beck don't say it it can't be true

fulljump   July 28th, 2010 - 4:21 pm

Andrew Jackson, “The judges have made their decision. Now let’s see them try to enforce it”. Sheriff Joe says EVERYONE booked into his jail will be checked as to their legal status.

Temple62   July 28th, 2010 - 11:21 pm

They don't have to do their job when it comes to prosecuting illegals, muslim murderers at Ft Hood, the Christmas Day Detroit bomber and the release of the Libyan Lockerbie bomber. That quite a track record this "hope and change" boy has racked up! Well, I doing more than "hoping", I voting against anyone and any measure that supports this fraudulent president for being around any longer than 2012.

300Mhz   July 28th, 2010 - 4:21 pm

Hopefully you have more than your wit to fight with.

Rover_Bump   July 28th, 2010 - 11:22 pm

Cry me a river. Besides, I have a new Walther that needs sighting in anyway.

300Mhz   July 28th, 2010 - 11:22 pm

Yeah, that'll happen

Alaska_Girl   July 28th, 2010 - 11:23 pm

I'm literally sick to my stomach about the judge overturning this law. No wonder voters don't vote. When a law is passed by ELECTED officials, it gets overturned anyways by appointed judges . . .

10TooMany   July 28th, 2010 - 11:23 pm

Well the wit on this board is more effective a fighting tool than a tool like you.

10TooMany   July 28th, 2010 - 11:26 pm

As long as they're not violating any law they won't be questioned. I don't see your problem with this.

Rover_Bump   July 28th, 2010 - 11:26 pm

In total agreement. The People vote but it only takes a single maverick wildcat Judge to overturn it. Something is wrong.

10TooMany   July 28th, 2010 - 11:27 pm

You act like that's a surprise to anyone here who's seen your posts in the past.

10TooMany   July 28th, 2010 - 11:29 pm

What are the feds doing to protect the people in the border towns of AZ? Seems to me like they're approaching it with the same sense of urgency as they did with the oil spill in the gulf. I know the dems need the voters but they should try to do it ethically.

Thinker822   July 28th, 2010 - 4:30 pm

To hell with the government of the United States of America!

You wanted pissed off Americans, you have one in me..DHS come looking.

I can't count how many times we've been shiite on as a people in favor of this trash from south of the border. The judge just told the fedgov it doesnt have to do its job……what a load of crap!

November is coming…if that doesn't change things…god help us all, because the shiites going to hit the fan big time!

WE THE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thinker822   July 28th, 2010 - 11:31 pm

I volunteer to do this.

10TooMany   July 28th, 2010 - 11:31 pm

Finally a good idea from the left. Keep reading the posts here and I'm sure you'll start making more rational decisions. And maybe even start supporting yourself.

steelerfan989   July 28th, 2010 - 11:33 pm

Actually, if the judge was a maverick she would have told the DOJ to pound sand and told the truth about the Constitutionality of the law that MIRRORS federal law. But you do make a good point of course.

Anyone else afraid of what they can do between now and November – much less 2012?!?!?

Free_Market   July 28th, 2010 - 11:33 pm

kmichaels   July 28th, 2010 - 11:40 pm

Sorry, why is millions of illegals in the state of Arizona using up the state of Arizona's resources a federal issue? You really are a god damned stupid putz.

10TooMany   July 28th, 2010 - 11:41 pm

Then fill the holes with something meaningful. I haven't seen you do that yet. Bring it on.

kmichaels   July 28th, 2010 - 11:42 pm

Common sense would tell us that millions of illegals in the state of Arizona using up Arizona resources is a state issue more than a federal issue. But, you think you are smart, please demonstrate using your advanced logic why it is a federal issue? Show the part in the US constitution that illegal aliens using up a state's resources is restricted to a federal solution.

10TooMany   July 28th, 2010 - 11:43 pm

I'm offended. You assume the gun-toting are all men. Just because someone on the site has bigger balls then you doesn't mean they're a man.

Thinker822   July 28th, 2010 - 4:43 pm

Follow closely…you may learn something

In the beginning there were groups of people who binded together based on common belief and ideas of right and wrong to make something called a State. Individuals in this State (key point here) were given authority from the mass of people (key point ends here) to make rules that would create a lawful society in that State (or body of people).

As time went on other States arose who had the same heiarchy. These States decided to bind together (key point again) with the conscent of the people of each State (end key point) to form a confederacy. Since the articles of confederation were impractical for creating practical working structure to govern the new republic a consitution was formed based on (key point again) THE STATES GRANTING AUTHORITY TO A FEDERAL BODY TO DO CERTAIN TASKS NEEDED BY ALL THE MEMBER STATES (end key point). The States wisely (key point) reserved ANY AUTHORITY THEY DID NOT EXPRESSLY GIVE THE FEDERAL GOVERMENT AS AN AUTHORITY RETAINED BY THE STATE(end key point) (FYI: 10th Amendment).

In conclusion: if the federal goverment is not living up to the mandate the States have given it, then its placed on the State to ensure those things for the good of its people, itself. One step further, if the State government fails to live up to the authority/tasks the people have given it (key point) THEN THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE HAVE THE ABSOLUTE RIGHT TO DO WHAT IS NECESSARY TO ENSURE THEIR WILL BE DONE (end key point). Why? Because in America WE THE PEOPLE ARE THE POWER.

I lived in NY most of my life (25 years). I live in Arizona now. You have no freakin idea what you're talking about on any level.

MEMPHISBLUFF   July 28th, 2010 - 4:45 pm

Stay the course Gov Brewer……that they have problems with their own law only reinforces your position……ALL these idiots need to be called out and replaced immediately….Where are the Americans in this Administration???

Dave_in_Oregon   July 28th, 2010 - 4:45 pm

We are getting to the point where these liberal Federal judges need to be removed.

How on Earth can anyone expect a Federal Court to rule against the Federal Government when they are all liberals.

WE NEED TO CLEAN HOUSE STARTING IN NOVEMBER….

AND I MEAN CLEAN HOUSE !

HunterAyers   July 28th, 2010 - 11:46 pm

Never expect anything better or different from a clinton or obama "judge."

HunterAyers   July 28th, 2010 - 11:48 pm

so if the feds do nothing, Arizona has to pony up for all the services, hospital care, and crime, etc.?
And then there is each of the other states who must do the same. American taxpayers must pay or the state goes bankrupt. And so we do pay and pay and pay.

EightiesSupport   July 28th, 2010 - 11:50 pm

Book 'em Janno. What was the point of focusing in on the page she was reading from? CNN semiotics malarkey?

dawn_raging   July 28th, 2010 - 11:51 pm

If day after day thugs broke into your home, and you called the police, and they did nothing, what would you do? You'd arm yourself and defend your home and family the best that you could. That is what Arizona tried to do. Day after day, year after year, illegal aliens have invaded their state and the Federal Government has done nothing to protect it. Arizona HAD to do something or it would be completely destroyed. Now Obama through the courts has taken that power away from Arizona to protect itself. This is abominable.

If the Feds don't protect us, and the police are not permitted to, perhaps it's time to take the law into our own hands.

10TooMany   July 28th, 2010 - 11:53 pm

Voting is still the key. We can't let the loud & obnoxious minority dictate the direction of our country. The majority needs to rule. Once the majority rules then the judges are appointed accordingly.

Keep your eye on the prize.

dawn_raging   July 28th, 2010 - 5:05 pm

4,617,044 (70%) of the people of Arizona supported the immigration bill. 1 judge had the power to destroy it. Something is terribly wrong when a judge who was appointed, not elected, has more power than a state's elected legislature and elected governor.

Well lets see, will the feds do the job, no, they haven't so far and what is worse if you get "Comprehensive Immigration reform" in english Amnesty, you will have a flood of stinking little pigs crossing the border to take more of my tax money. Now you may enjoy sharing the subway with them but I do not. And worse yet is that people who are trying to get here legally will be pushed to the back to allow Jose in. I am sick to death of the destruction of this country by the libtards…..and please do not give me the crap about how immigrants strenghten the country, if these little stinking pigs strenghten the country then we are worse off than we all thought.

From Tucson, Arizona, I just took my dog for a walk. Every person I passed was half-walking and half-stumbling, dejected and slumped over, in a daze. Look at the, usually, stalwart and confident Governor Brewer in the CNN video posted. She looks … defeated.

All right. it is half-time. We in Arizona DO feel defeated by a foe that refuses to fight fair. I, and I hope that the Great Governor Brewer will do the same, am going to get a good night's sleep. Tomorrow we move forward.

In November, a new Reaganesque era begins, and the New Conservative Era will outshine everything the noble President Reagan did. Amen.

NYCarchitect   July 29th, 2010 - 12:30 am

Thanks, but I learned everything you just wrote about state and federal government in high school. You wasted a lot of time cutting and pasting from Wikipedia. It's still a federal issue.

Thinker822   July 29th, 2010 - 12:34 am

That is a truely condecending statement.

NYCarchitect   July 29th, 2010 - 12:36 am

I don't understand this response. Calm down, it's going to be alright. What are you suggesting, that it's federal taxes that pay for this or state taxes? Either way, if you want the government to do a job, you have to pay the taxes for it.

Thinker822   July 29th, 2010 - 12:38 am

Obviously you don't get it. Shame too…can't say I didn't try. You're just a leftist.

azisthefuture   July 29th, 2010 - 12:39 am

Thanks for the hard numbers, dawn_raging. Nothing speaks as cogently as numbers.

Right now we in Arizona feel a bit like road kill, and we most assuredly feel violated, the way one does after one's house has been broken into.

NYCarchitect   July 29th, 2010 - 12:41 am

Let's not confuse issues here. There are secure borders and then there are laws that enable state police to detain illegal immigrants. This law is just about harassing an illegal immigrant who's been peacefully living in Flagstaff, 300 miles from the border, for the past 10 years than it is about arresting a guy as he's scaling the wall.

jktnyc   July 29th, 2010 - 12:41 am

But…if you are a white american citizen you have no rights, when the police ask me for my drivers license I will say "no habla." I will claim to be here illegally and then they cannot touch me…..

Alaska_Girl   July 29th, 2010 - 12:42 am

I feel the exact same frustration and I'm in Alaska! An appointed judge undoing the work of an ELECTED legislatures is beyond galling.

Alaska_Girl   July 29th, 2010 - 12:44 am

Fight the good fight AZ! The rest of the country is looking to you and ready to fight your corner. I know that TX and OK are just dying to follow suit. It's gotta be hard and dejecting, especially as voters, when something like this is overturned with NO logic. Unlike many in the Obozo admin, I've actually READ the AZ law and it mirrors the feds.

Thinker822   July 28th, 2010 - 5:47 pm

I have home invasions in neighborhoods all around my home…and I live in a nice part of Phoenix. There was a shooting in the cul de sac across the street from my home on Christmas eve with family gathered around my tree. Let me assure you nothing warms the heart at christmas time more than seeing police, ambulance, ATF in masks, and INS flood your street as you try to pass out gifts to visting family. I waited 7 hours in a hospital waiting room to receive 11 stitches that took 25 minutes. My mothers car was smashed into by an illegal who literally walked away (leaving his car behind) before the police or ambulence arrived. A friend was rundown on his motorcycle by an illegal who fled the scene…he was chased down by other bikers who were nearby when it happened…they guy said he ran becuse no one knew who he was, he was illegal and the car was stolen…my last neighbor attempted to steal my cable TV the day they moved in only to find out it was internet service, they had their 3 year old son steal my mail on 4 seperate occasions (I cought him each time), they trashed the home the BOUGHT from wells fargo and dumped oil in the ground, the abandoned the house and and stripped out all the copper, took the stove, the fridage, and the water heater…there were 9 people living in that 1400 sq foot house…last summer (in 100-117 degree weather) they shut off their electric for 3 weeks and gave their kids showers on the driveway in their front yard witha hose. After they abandoned their stripped home, I learned from the realtor that they lived there 7 months and never made one payment…they defaulted on the loan. After Arizona's employer sanctions law went into effect 9 homes on my block vacated overnight..many of them haven't resold. The people moving into the empty house beside me had to sink $35K into the home to make it liveable…they bought it for $45K…the property value in my neighborhood has plumeted.

Do shut up.

Alaska_Girl   July 29th, 2010 - 12:47 am

Really, Andrew Jackson had the right idea . . . with regards to judges passing a ruling he disagreed with . . ."now let them come and enforce it." It's SO hard to see Washington and the judiciary so out of touch with the rest of the country and the people who actually deal with this immigration issue. My aunt lives in AZ and she says that pretty much everyone she knows is fit to be tied about this.

Alaska_Girl   July 29th, 2010 - 12:49 am

Oh, I plan on voting, but it is so hard when the results can seemingly be overturned on a whim even though 70% agree (and, really, on what other issue is there such agreement!). Why is it so hard to understand that this issue is NOT about hate, but self preservation. The U.S. cannot feed, house, and care for the rest of the world.

NYCarchitect   July 29th, 2010 - 12:49 am

Ok jktnyc, I'll play ball. Arizona claims about roughly 1/20th of the country's border. Let's say we nail the door shut on that state and give the cops free reign to do whatever they want to whomever they want. What do you plan on doing for the other 19/20ths of the border line? Wait and hope for each state to follow suit? Or let the country as a whole handle it?

And a word of advice: Think before you jump to rash conclusions about who is destroying the country. In this forum it may be acceptable, in the real world it makes you look incredibly foolish.

gorkisadork   July 29th, 2010 - 12:53 am

Slappy? is that you uncle slappy?

NYCarchitect   July 29th, 2010 - 12:57 am

You're clearly very angry. But your anger isn't going to make your problem go away. You want the problem to be solved, and that's understandable. Detaining, processing, and deporting all the illegal aliens in this country is projected to cost $285,000,000,000. That's what it's going to cost to solve the problem that you have. That's a big number. Do you want your state to single handedly shoulder the burden of immigration, or do you want the federal government to chip in? Or do you want to have your cake and eat it to… have my federal taxes pay for what you're calling your state's problem?

gwar5   July 29th, 2010 - 12:57 am

Thinker822   July 29th, 2010 - 1:03 am

Angry is half of it. I'd volunteer along with tens of thousands of other Arizonans to walk every street in Pheonix and escort these shiitebags to the border in my own vehicles on my own dime if need be. As stated before if the fedgov won't (and won't is the appropriate term) then I expect my State to, if the State won't then the people have a right to. Money is less the issue here..Americans are dying and the government cares more about the people killing and stealing from them.

steelerfan989   July 29th, 2010 - 1:03 am

My family is still there and I used to work in law enforcement there, so I know exactly what you mean. It is unbelievable what is and continues to go on there. You know lots like to talk trash about "Sheriff Joe" but if you know AZ you know that he has gotten elected term after term over what he does, not what he says. The govt doesn't elect him the people do…. and he's still going strong.

This is just a huge example of what a dictatorship our government has become. It is slowly coming out in several states even now where if the "elected ones" don't get their way they simply remove those blocking it or sign executive orders to circumvent the issue in their favor. How in the world have we gotten to this point? And again how far is it going to go…….. Scary.

Spanky2   July 28th, 2010 - 6:09 pm

"Detaining, processing, and deporting all the illegal aliens in this country is projected to cost $285,000,000,000. That's what it's going to cost to solve the problem that you have. "

Straw man.

Arizona was able to encourage quite a number of illegal immigrants to leave willingly without anyone incurring the expense of detaining, processing, and deporting illegal immigrants.

All we have to do is to make it so very clear that they are not welcome here that many of them will leave of their own accord, and it won't cost very much to do that.

Also, a deterrent program would minimize future illegal immigration.

It does no good to deport people if we're just going to continue to give them incentives to stay return.

steelerfan989   July 29th, 2010 - 1:09 am

Do not be defeated! The fact that millions of Americans are with you and feeling the same will keep you strong. Arizona was the one state that had the guts to take on this travesty we currently call our government. You just watch. This will be a tipping point in our favor.

Spanky2   July 28th, 2010 - 6:13 pm

So Arizona shouldn't deal with any crimes (say, drugs, murder, kidnapping, theft, rape, etc.) because they can't fix those problems for other states?

Spanky2   July 29th, 2010 - 1:14 am

Libunatic is a contraction of "liberal lunatic."
