The ‘activist’ (I hate to use that word to describe someone I’m praising) did bring up a great point about knowing the Constitution. Our reps should know it or carry a pocket version (memorization can be tough for me too).
It bothered me that the rep or the man next to him got ‘testy’ with the ‘activist’ at the end of the clip, who only pointed out the obvious… about the proper relationship between the citizens and the elected. Whether it be dems or gops, this is exactly what we should demand of our congressmen. Let them know who they work for, and can their a$$es if they don’t comply.
This guy doesn’t need to run for office, but he needs to be hired – for a good salary – by FreedomWorks or other Tea Party org to be sent to town meetings and call out ALL congressman/women and grill them on their knowledge of the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
It also wouldn’t hurt if all of congress was required to be able to recite – verbatim – every line in the movie, “CADDYSHACK” – just like the rest of us did in college.

Today I am proud to be an American, and this gentlemen who embarrassed LoBiondo, did the right thing..These guys who profess to be conservative need to be tested. This guy who asked this numbskull a question and he couldn’t answer it, is what has to be done. .Any representative who doesn’t uphold his oath to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States should be recalled. Those who have been elected, when voting on laws that affect us doesn’t refer to the Constitution he should be stripped of his duties as a representative or a Senator. This gentleman also brought up the fact that we are their bosses! They forget that..we pay their salaries and they are beholding to our wishes…they did not listen to us on the healthcare bill and now in 2010 they will pay the price by being booted out of office.

Interesting grilling… It would have been better to ask the rep. about his values and how they affect America. This is will connect with other Tea Partiers (like myself,)but I am not sure if connected at all with average Joe’s. “What does it mean to me?”..type of question.

An amazing clip! This my fellow travelers is what is needed. Every school child prior to being moved from elementry to middle-school should be required to recite Article 1 of the Constitution. Every candidate should be required to show proficiency in the requirements of office including what the oath they are about to take requires, if they cannot display this knowledge they should be disqualified. No student should be allowed to graduate from high-school without being able to pass the same test that a legal immigrant is required to pass prior to being granted citizenship. No citizen should be allowed to vote unless they too can pass that simple test. This my fellow travelers is the minimun that should be expected to enjoy the freedoms we have. Get involved.

And that is what is why we must have every American student have more than a passing glance at the law. How can we perform our civic duty without being prepared for self governance without a working knowledge and then demand the right to vote. We also need recall or voter impeachment capacity so when the oath is broken an not redressed the lie can be charged as an act so distasteful that further public service is a danger. The check on this act was the duel, now they sneer at us and call us names. It doesn’t get any worse than having contempt for those you work for and the law.
I agree with the citizen and I am embarrassed to admit I don’t know the U.S. Constitution. But after this admonition from my fellow citizen, I will make a genuine effort to be knowledgeable on it as well as the Bill of Rights. As I realize the elected official owned the greater sin by not knowing the Constitution I am not off the hook. Thanks, man.

It just shows how this Country has been taken over by know-nothings and elitists. LoBiondo could not tell the audience a segment of the Constitution that he SWORE to UPHOLD and PROTECT! This citizen really handed it to LoBiondo, and we (myself included) all need to bone up on The Constitution, The Declaration of Independence, THE FEDERALIST PAPERS, and HISTORY in general, so that we will know when these power-hungry politicians are putting something over on the citizens.
