GOP Gubernatorial Candidate Whitman’s Press Event in Oakland Goes Awry

TPM: Former eBay CEO Meg Whitman, a candidate for the Republican nomination for governor of California, had an awkward encounter with the press Tuesday: Inviting reporters to an appearance she was making at a railroad facility, then not letting them ask any questions, and finally having security escort the media out after they persisted.

Well… brushing hands… that ones out. Don’t need another piece of Royal S. She won’t talk, won’t release documents… After all she’s warriored her way into a CEO seat… maybe learned from Obama that Royal Arses don’t have to release docs, birth certifs etc. to the serfs.

And we have a muslim in chief that won’t release his birth certificate. So friggin what.

Obama's Tar-filled Lung   March 10th, 2010 - 3:22 pm

looks like she was just looking for a free commercial. The Democrat criticism is hilarious, however, in light of the fact that Obama hasn’t released __________ (fill in the blank).

We’ve got a president who stages events and won’t take questions. Where’s the media honesty about that?

How about the toilet paper I used this morning to wipe my asz. If I can get it away from “roger”, “beck bites”, Rahm, and Axelrod. They like to get it and do the dunkin-donut thing with it.

RogerCfromSD   March 10th, 2010 - 4:09 pm

beck bites, drop the intellectually-dishonest “quitter like Palin” meme. That’s just stupid.

We all know why she had to quit. Unless you think it’s just dandy that she go personally into debt and waste tax payer monies just so you can feel she wasn’t a quitter.

roger, from one Roger to another, that’s just a pointless, dumb@55 thing to say. Especially given how evasive and nakedly corrupt this Administration and Congress majority has acted.

From Wikipedia (yes, more truthful than Rush Limpballs, Sean Hannshitty & Glenn Blech combined)

“Whitman’s campaign is largely self-funded. As of February 2010, the billionaire has put $39 million of her own money into the race. Figures for 2009 show that 20% of her contributions, about $2.2 million, came from out-of-state contributors. The biggest donations came from New York investment bankers, hedge fund managers, attorneys and others who collectively gave Whitman more than $400,000, according to an Associated Press review of campaign reports.”

“Whitman has made monetary donations to various candidates and PACs. While these have gone to both Republicans and Democrats, the donations are weighted to Republicans such as Orrin Hatch, Mitt Romney, John McCain, and George Allen.[27] Though Whitman has contributed to a few Democrats, including Senator Barbara Boxer; donating $4,000 to her campaign and serving on the “Friends of Boxer” committee in 2004, she donated more than $225,000.00 during the same period to Republicans, eBay’s PAC and to Americans for a Republican Majority, the PAC of former Rep. Tom DeLay.[28][29] On the whole, Whitman’s contributions have been to mostly Republicans (94%) and very limited to Democrats (6%).”

Enjoy the facts, losers!

Ca. is and has been a intelectal progresive state for some time now. The last thing we need is a non believer
like Whiteman as govenor with her caveman non progresive ideas. Ca. is one of the few states that wants to help
poor people, people of color and latino guests. We need to get rid of the nn believers in our state goverment
who continualey block progresive plans for our utopia within Ca.

Have never been impressed with Meg Whitman, she is a RINO. The only thing she would be good at is setting up “CalBay”, a site we can all use to bid on all of the goods being sold in dying California.

wicky meg   March 10th, 2010 - 10:19 pm

I’m wicky meg and I can do whatever I want. When asked why Ebay raised its prices when over head is nearly zilch, my pat answer was ‘because we can’. Why should we not join the greedy corporates and enhance our bottom line while simultaneously sucking the consumer dry? We have the party faithful Republicans in our pockets along with generous unfunded tax cuts from the bush administration–and were not suffering. Lets face it–can I do a worst job than Arnold? Now let me be, I want to go play with my ill earned money.

Calvin&Hobbes   March 10th, 2010 - 11:02 pm

Another RINO trying to get into politics by using the same old Democratic tactics; duck the issues, generalize, don’t be specific, don’t answer questions and be sure to promise “A chicken in every Pot”.

niner   March 10th, 2010 - 11:15 pm

As a conservative in California, I dont trust Whitman, I think she is a RINO.
About two months ago she was on Neil Cavuttos show, and he asked her what she thought of Sarah Palin, she hemed and hawed and couldnt give an answer, it was really bizarre. Cavutto wouldnt leave it alone until he got an answer. She kept smirking and finally said she supported Mitt Romney. Cavutto asked if she thought Palin could be President and she could not answer. This woman is weird! I am in a quandry because we’ve already had Jerry”Moonbeam” Brown, as Governer. I wish some Conservative/Libertarian would jump in the race. This women is no Sarah Palin. Palin was a Governor and would run rings around this hack!

Duh!   March 11th, 2010 - 6:39 am

niner, Whitman certainly is not Sarah Palin aka THE QUEEN OF PORK (go read her bio), Whitman actually has a brain. Also, check out the latest poll for Governor 2010 in Ca., 63% of Ca. voters said they’ll vote for Whitman. Unlike you, they’ll vote for intellect over looks! Geee, i guess that makes them smarter than you.

SubjectofUSSA   March 11th, 2010 - 8:38 am

LOL sounds like they are just using the Obama playbook for controlling the media

seanoairborne   March 11th, 2010 - 12:01 pm

Whitman just took a page out of the Oblowme book that’s all.And the press are outraged! What a bunch of scumsuckers.Whitman should tell them that when Oblowme unseals all his credentials then she will as well!Until such time , go suck eggs!!

wicky meg   March 11th, 2010 - 8:11 pm

Oh, the critics can be so cure when one is forced to hobnob with minions—and those insatiable hounds, namely the press. Leave me alone, all I want to be is governor, for goodness sake.
