I’m not a teabagger, nor do I belong to a TEA Party organization. But the reason I personally am not ready to blame Dick Cheney or George W. Bush for this spill, is because aside from the overly general charge of “deregulation”, and your ridiculous assertion that because Cheney’s friend works at BP, he is somehow responsible for making an oil rig explode from thousands of miles away, nobody has come forth with a logical, reasoned, factual argument as to why Cheney is responsible, and why the Obama administration did not act to correct the actions taken by Cheney to stop this disaster from happening.
Unless and until someone – anyone – bothers to provide facts that prove he is responsible, I will continue to predict that when the investigations are complete, history will show that the people who were responsible for this catastrophe were on that oil rig, and not in an executive boardroom at BP, Halliburton or elsewhere, and not in Washington DC. However, I will listen to your evidence, and am willing to change my position.
So, feel free to be the first. Enlighten us all, and connect the dots. Demonstrate why Dick Cheney is directly responsible for this oil spill, and why Obama, and everyone in his administration is blameless. And be sure to include everything this administration has done in the last 16 months to change course from the Bush / Cheney model.

While this group seems to be environmentally active with good motives, they are a small group out of Michigan that seems focused on local issues.
It seems strange to me that REP would pay any large part of a $3M ad buy for a national campaign. Someone needs to follow the money trail here. What money did REP recieve from the Dems for being able to be “tagged” on this ad.

I notice that the ad says that we buy oil from countries that “hate us”, but fails to mention the fact that we have enough oil of our own, yet we are not allowed to touch it due to the Democrats. Or that we’ll just be buying solar panels (that don’t work) from the Chinese if this thing passes.
Maybe the “progressives” should put out some ads touting their promotion of eugenics and the success they had with poisoning alcohol supplies.

I would guess…..can’t prove….that since Halliberton has done some really bad construction work on other things…they cut corners building shoddy, unstable units……(while to gov’t paid them multimillions) and the fact that inspectors of the well rig said, ” they” (who ever they are) cut corners by not putting a valve to close off the shaft to save $500,000. When BP, Halliberton, and (??) were in Washington and were asked by our officials, “who is responsible for this mess” BP pointed to Halliberton and Halliberton pointed to BP and TransOcean ( ?? Not sure about that name).
I heard that Halliberton had been working on the rig prior to the blast….but that was on the news and I haven’t heard any more to that effect. It doesn’t matter, I guess. We will find out one of these days. There will be an investigation, for sure. The Gulf will be a terrible mess for a few years…no doubt.
And we will still have terrorists invading this country…..which worries me more than the oil spill.
