What we are talking about now is soviet style central planning and state ownership of all means of production. Look at Hugo Chavez, thats the direction we are headed. Chavez closed 38 radio stations last year, and he just closed the last tv station the state didn't control. He is nationalizing entire industries, he just nationalized 12 american owned oil platforms. Obama is following Chavez model.

Because you are blaming bean counters that are a tiny part of the formula. Like any lib, you just look for someone to blame instead of looking for ways to decrease the COST of health care. All obama has said for the past 2 years is "Insurance companies make the cost of health care unattainable", which is a load of crap. It's not insurance companies. They just mark up their cost enough based on market values to afford to cover people. The real issue is the fact that things cost so much.
Nearly every doctor will tell you malpractice and tort, which make insurance costs ridiculously high, as well as force millions of unnecessary tests, are the number one factor in the cost of health care. Doctors say it left and right. I guess it's just a GOP boogyman, and the doctors are just dumb and don't know what they're talking about?
Address the costs, not the "evil" insurance companies and their tiny profits. People are going to die in ANY health care system. You're trying to trade a few uncovered people for disintegrating the best health care system on the planet. NOBODY in this country goes uncovered. Yeah, they may lose their money, but in a govt. run plan like britains, people are told "sorry, we're not going to give you that coverage" every day, on a far more regular basis than insurance companies do.
How about this: Did you know that Medicare (govt. run) ALREADY has a higher percentage of rejected claims than ANY private insurance company year to year? And that will only get worse.
No offense taken. I'd just love if people at least would admit what's going on to some extent. Even in baby steps. It's nothing but blinders right now.

The problem is I really do want to know if Obama believes good health care is re-distributive. I believe that redistribution of wealth is morally and socially wrong as well as illegal. It is theft. If Obama does believe this (of course he does, he has said so himself) then I need to know in order to make an informed decision not to support him.

For every "kid they kill" which is a part of practicing medicine, there are many cases, either fraudulent or far overblown, every one of which increase our health care costs. The real increase comes from millions of unnecessary tests because they have to cover their tail in the case of any eventuality. It's all lawyer based and lawyer pushed legislation and rules. Patients aren't what the lawyers are worried about, it's money.
