Sounds like the people who posted on this thread don’t understand the benefits of replacing the Federal Income tax with a VAT.

1) It would completely eliminate the need for the IRS.
2) Basic food and necessities are excluded from the VAT.
3) Every individual can basically control the amount of VAT they will pay by controlling their spending on products that carry a VAT.
4) It would eliminate the IRS (yes, I know I said this already, but c’mon, imagine no more IRS!)
5) The concept of a VAT has been proven effective in many other industrialized countries.
6) Wealthy individuals who now avoid paying any taxes because of loopholes only available to the wealthy, will finally have to pay their fair share.

The only people who should resist the concept of replacing our income tax with a VAT are very high net worth individuals. Everyone else would be better off. If you’re against the VAT, and your not very wealthy, you’re only hurting yourself.

While there has been some discussion of overlaying a VAT on our current system, conventional wisdom suggests that the only way a VAT will garner the necessary political support is when it will be used to replace the income tax.

Tim (Tax Cheat) Geithner says regarding the VAT tax, “The president does not support [it], but we all recognize that our deficits are too high and we’ve got to bring them down.” Yet, Obama said it might be a novel idea for this country but he’ll have to take a look at it. These Statists are going to try to force upon us the VAT tax after the election, when his commission makes it’s report in December. Obama will blame it on the commission. Other taxes will be increasing in 2011 according to Geithner.

Geitner left out a few words. One is “YET”! The others are “but queen pelosi, dingy harry, blarney fwank, babs boxer, and the rest of the libRETARDED LOONS now serving in congress do”! NOVEMBER 2010, 2012!

If the libs perceive that a VAT will dull that aspect of taxes that are give-aways to pals and supporters, they do not like it. But of course a VAT can always be constructed to help or penalize. A VAT would have to have a very large rebate, refund, tax credit, etc., to give low incomers unearned wealth. ….And that is what it is all about.
