I had trouble like this once before ..I had asked the flight attendant where my seat was and she blew up…
Unfortunately for me some pussy whipped a hole passenger decided he could benefit by saying he saw me being rude..
I asked her her name…she became even more volitile…
The captain came back to me and asked if I had a problem…
This was four years ago…
Women shouldn’t be allowed to work in these types of occupations…flight attendants and school teachers…Women should not be in these positions…unless their dealing with all girls…At least then they can scratch each others eyes out.
They don’t have the stomach for it…
They crack under pressure and they usually make others miserable when they have a bad day….
screw her…
I’m calling American for this guy…
Sounds more and more typical for American Airlines flight attendants. The old days of “stewardesses” being courteous in serving passengers are long gone after the name change to “flight attendant”.
“Steward”, from Websters New World dictionary, 1978: An attendant, as on a ship, airplane, etc. employed to look after the passengers comfort.
All you drones out there calling for universal healthcare need to pay close attention to the sparkling “customer service” you get when the federal government is behind anything. You think with the government in charge you will get your complaints heard? Bra-ha-ha-ha! Now don’t be “threatening” the nurse after she turns you down for another pain reliever…fools.
Probably her time of the month.
Guess he should have requested gin and tonic.
It usually takes me one or two to hop on with American Scarelines.
Simple solution. Just quit flying AA. After they see the receipts going down hill, maybe they’ll get a better attitude!
Rude is rude, I don’t care if you are a man or a woman but hey, once in a while we just have a bad day. We don’t know what strain she might have in her home life. Someone could have died, her husband might be cheating, who knows? No excuse for her behaviour but maybe a little understanding that not everyone is perfect all the time. What was his tone when he asked her? Did he act all entitled like say, oh a Demorat acts.
I used to fly American all the time and I was Executive Platinum. This kind of service does not surprise me at all, I long ago realized First Class basically only meant a larger seat. Food wasweak, service was poor 80% of the time.. But hey, when you travel for business you have limited choices.
With that being said, when I travel internationally on AA , the service/food in business class / first was much better.
Concerning the comment about gov’t run health care, the best airline I have ever flown is Qantas from Australia. It was a real pleasure every time. It is 100% government owned.
Appears she became a threat-herself to passenger/in-flight safety.
She should have been put under arrest by the witnessing passengers.
I haven’t flown AA in years and don’t intend to until I hear people actually praising their service consistently for at least 3 years straight. They treat you like it’s a Greyhound bus with wings and they have for years now. The people they hire tend to seem to hate their jobs. It has to be systemic. It might be better if they just went out of business and airlines like Southwest and Jetblue take over instead. Now JetBlue is what flying SHOULD be or at least it was the last time I flew with them.
what do expect from a FEDERALLY PROTECTED stormtrooper? giving power to some adults is like giving alcohol to a teenage driver. things get out of control real quick!!!!
One reason I am glad I dont have to travel by air. If any other company treated their customers this way they would be out of business in short order. I hate the airlines, and that they can treat passengers in this manner is outrageous. I hope they guy sues the hell out of them. Kudos for the other passengers for sticking up for a complete stranger!!!
eveh, I imagine that if five passengers had stayed to back up the gentleman’s story, that it was the attendant who was the source of the disruption.
Maybe she thought he said “Jews.”
Customer service is dead EVERYWHERE in this country. That is why I shop on the basis of COST only. Big store=crap service, Small store=crap service. Some, but not many exceptions.
I guess overpriced Nordstroms has great service (never shopped there), it better with the prices they charge. I saw a shirt today while walking thru Nordstroms, similar to the $3 Value village special I was wearing, selling for 99 smackers. I guess you get great service though, so, uh uh….it is worth it.
Face it folks, this is a decaying society that in genreal is lacking in common courtesy.
I can remember when flying was fun the last three rows were smoking only seats and we would sit in the last row smoking and ordering drinks like frat boys, laughing and joking the whole way. As a Merchant Marine flying off on an adventure we had great fun. The Captain of one ship I sail on was a man from Boston who like to play the violin eloquently every night after work. He with his collage education and very polite manners once explain in that proper New England accent the secret of how to pass gas during a flight without attracting attention. He told me he would lean forward very slowly letting it out just a little at a time spacing out the forward movements and letting out the gas discreetly and letting the smell dissipate in between the forward movements, a very long and tedious procedure. He explained that this would prevent accidents when trying to maneuver out of his seat to go to the head. Later I caught Him doing exactly that movement and I tried hard not to laugh but this only made me chortle and snort until everyone started to stare at me including my Captain who shot me dirty looks.
Now when on an airplane I am afraid to speak or to move for any reason. I sit very still and decline to eat snacks and only drink water paranoid that stewardess will notice me. The last thing I want to do is cause any kind of a disturbance. What a grand free county we have become where people are scared that the airline stewardess will go off on you for ordering OJ.
My mother was a stewardess for AA in the fifties, when they’re were standards that had to be complied with, customer service being one. Incidents like this are not surprising considering they can drop a dime on your ass and the feds are all over you(thanks to Bush and the Patriot Act). My(professional)advice is to advise the flight attendant you feel he/she has threatened and intimidated you that you wish to file a formal complaint and to advise the captain immediately. Then advise her that you’ll be calling your lawyer(via flitefone or cell upon landing and that you’ve recorded the entire exchange for reference, whether you did or not.) Have no more verbal exchanges with the attendant(answer NO questions)but comply with all instructions until leaving the aircraft and then give the police(don’t worry, they’ll be at the gate)and an airline representative a thorough statement(photos would be nice)with any witnesses you have and get a signed and dated copy of same with NAMES and TITLES(very important). There have been too many people who have suffered federal sanctions at the hands of airline personnel simply because the they(cabin crew)were having a bad day and the passenger didn’t know his rights. It’s critically important to NOT be intimidated by law enforcement at this time and to be polite but firm. You have rights, know them and use them.

Maybe the flight attendant didn’t get invited to Obama’s Hannakah party
AA has quite a few rude flight attendants, not fun when on a flight, but that can be dealt with. But I had an AA flight attendant blow up and say loudly and brashly that I grabbed and pulled her, it was surreal, all I did was ask her for something, lucky for me my wife was sitting next to me and a few others saw the entire thing, those that weren’t watching must of thought I did something inappropriate, weird thing is the way she acted she may have believed it, she was not right in the head, not a person that should be responsible for the safety of passengers.
Is AA that afraid of the union to get rid of these people who jeopordize the safety of the airline’s passengers (much less the ability of customers to enjoy a flight) Does the union not realize or not care that keeping these people is costing jobs?
This is a a bunch of BS, these guys are trying to set up the flight attendant to sue the Airline, like the Flying Imams.
I was on that flight, all the guys in question were dressed in robes and turbans. They were up and down and switching seats, and praying to mecca while yelling Allah Akbar where’s my OJ! OJ is the bomb! Allah Akbar! Death to America(n) OJ. And a bunch of other stuff in A-rabb or whatever the hell they call it.
But of course I was in steerage class, so I only know what I overhead the stewardess say to the TSA officials as I was deplaning and attempting to free up the blood clots and restore circulation to my legs.
I wonder if he really wanted or needed orange juice or had any compassion for the flight attendant that might have been having a rough day.
This flight attendant will have to be fired. This guy has a huge lawsuit against the airline, I would not settle it for less than 500K. I really wish I did not need to pass the bar and I could take this guy’s case because it is easy money.
That flight attendant is guilty of falsifying a federal document, which he /she should be prosecuted criminally for. She is guilty of intentionally inflicting emotional distress. She may also be guilty of causing a disturbance on a flight. This is an easy large settlement because the airline needs to avoid further bad PR.
EVEH: you have got to be kidding! That’s like saying that the reason somebody broke into a house is because the economy is bad! Please spare us you BS and stop trying to be an apologist for the POS flight attendant! The nerve of you…
Sue the airline for jeopardizing his good name, which, because of her, will always be flagged… sue, sue sue!
PS… I agree with Nathan S.
Flight attendants are not waitresses! Their primary purpose is to ensure the safety of passengers. I think this guy was probably treating her like a servant. Unless he was in dire need of orange juice (lol), he could have waited until she was finished with what she was doing. As for those who say sue the airline, I think that’s a BIG problem with the world today. Why work when you can sue and sit back on your lazy a#*?! I certainly don’t feel she should be fired! He can avoid this airline when he flies if it bothers him that much. I think he got what he deserved!!! Some are talking about what this might do to his “good” name . . . what about hers?!? And, no, I’m not a flight attendant. I do, however, have friends that are. I hear lots of things that they go through because some passengers don’t know how to behave on an airplane. Respect is a two-way thing! If a passenger can’t show her some respect, shouldn’t she reciprocate with the same attitude he gave her? I’m just saying’ . . .
Flying is stressful. If a crew member started yelling at passengers in a situation where there was no way out, she created a hostile environment. She’s the one who should be charged. If she cannot handle her job stress better than that, she’s in the wrong damn profession.
something tells me this guy wasn’t exactly as nice on that flight as he is in this video… “…all I did was ask for a glass of orange juice…” Yeah right, and then the witch exploded? Truth is, flight attendants usually treat people the way they are treated. Although I wasn’t there and don’t know the specifics, neither were all of you who are defending this passenger. But I do know one thing and that is this– regardless of where you sit on that airplane, F/C or Y, when passengers come across as demanding they usually get a negative response. Also FYI, that flight attendant didn’t respond publicly because she’s not allowed to talk to the press.

Our government has become fascistic and this is proof.
I wonder why no description of the flight attendant was offered?
