Rover_Bump   August 24th, 2010 - 5:54 am

I'm not much of a conspiracy buff but it's very difficult for me to see LHO as an assassin. Best idea I've seen is that he was infiltrating radical organizations as a covert intelligence plant and was deliberately set up. However, each "solution" proposed gets more ludicrous than the last.

I'm now pretty convinced that there were three or four separate plots going on, each unaware of the other, and the truth lies buried in the resulting gawdawful, tangled-up mess. :)

DURCAN   August 24th, 2010 - 6:04 am

O come off it, Oswald was a freckin Marxist.. Wake up… Andrew this is really not news…. Stones, JFK never happened people! The history channel proved it.

Based on his political views, oswald would likely have a post in the obama administration.

I like to think one of Mariyln Monroe's friends did it for payback, maybe DiMaggio.

A real thinker of a book I read in '03, or so… 'The Texas Connection.' (sure sounded like LBJ was knee-deep in it.)

henrythin   August 24th, 2010 - 6:23 am

Same old conjecture, based on wildly circumstancial events backed by unproved assertions. Oswald had nothing to with the assasination? What proof? Miltear was in Dallas. So? Hands to throat means frontal shot means grassy knoll? What proof of that. Not 7.5 seconds for Oswald's three shots– it was over 8 seconds. Miltear made some gloating statements after Assasination? So. Where is the hard proof for any of this agent's theories. Sorry folks. Oswald had the means, motivation, and opportunity. There was a certain amount of luck in the head shot, but life happens like that. Every bit of the substanial evident proofs Oswald, Texas Book Depository, alone.

SMFIII   August 24th, 2010 - 6:25 am

For example, the rediculously stupid, inane comment that you can't fire three rounds from a bolt action rifle in 7 1/2 seconds.

You sure as hell can if you already have a round chambered.

As to Oswald's marksmanship (He couldn't have shot Kennedy from that far away!), remember, Oswald was and ex-Marine.

My son, Sgt. Matt the Marine, could take your head off at 500 yards. Over an iron sight.

timmor84   August 24th, 2010 - 6:25 am

this just shows what one motivated marine and his rifle can do, and before you ladies leave my island you will all be able to do the same thing

claspur   August 24th, 2010 - 6:30 am

Oswald was a lousy marksman, from when He was a Marine, remember?

iconoclastKM   August 24th, 2010 - 6:32 am

I'm not one to be a conspiracy theorist…

but I will forever wonder how someone could get off three shots with a bolt action rifle, in such a short period of time, on a target in a moving vehicle… and astoundingly, have three hits on that target.

I'm just sayin'.

claspur   August 24th, 2010 - 6:40 am

Problem is, you can't explain-away Kennedy's backwards recoil towards the book repository, and Jackie jumping-out to retrieve parts of his skull matter. Body parts don't fly backwards toward the source of the shot.

nobama012   August 24th, 2010 - 6:43 am

JoeDoakes101   August 24th, 2010 - 6:48 am

Oswald killed JFK with a Carcano rifle he purchased mail order. As a very, very, Ex-Marine he had superb marksmanship skills. He also was a Moscow loving communist who became delusional, and took it out on an innocent man. Conspiracies do not happen, they can't, someone will always talk, or screw up. One man, or woman, acting on their own, is the greatest risk to our Presidents, and in Oswald's case it unfortunately paid off.

This is just one more guy wanting to profit from a great loss.

Chuck47   August 24th, 2010 - 6:49 am

Johnson got rid of Kennedy and got Hoover to cover it up. The Warren Commission whitewashed the entire deal and that was that.
Johnson hated Kennedy
Johnson had info that would have disgraced Hoover
The Warren Commission was charged with ending the affair in the interests of National policy

skipper99   August 24th, 2010 - 6:51 am

Nothing new! Majority of folks around at that time, and watched it happen live, plus the "cover up" by Warern commission knew damn well, that Oswald did not do it, or IF he did, he sure as Hell did not act alone. Truth be known, there is stuff our own Government is doing and has done, that are so far out of bounds, it makes one realize a bit better, why our Country is in such lousy shape today. One great example is the ass hole presently in White House, or is it a fund raiser, maybe more Golf, or maybe it's another gala event, anywhere but the office, which is probably not all that bad.

belcrome   August 24th, 2010 - 6:51 am

Really? Try typing in bush/Kennedy assassination and watch the video on papa Bush! You might not change your mind about Pelosi but you should find some interesting stuff, about the Bush family. Suvrec   August 24th, 2010 - 6:53 am

You Sir, are in my opinion at best a blagard. I have been around rifles for 45 years and have shot with the best including U S Marines at Bisley UK a 500 yards head shot over iron sights is at best a dream shot and in reality more luck than skill

Suvrec   August 24th, 2010 - 6:55 am

Please do read his military file his marksman skills were average I am not taking sides but just pulling from US Mlitary records in the public domain

covert   August 24th, 2010 - 6:56 am

JFK was killed by LBJ’s paid thugs, to set up the great society, to destroy the USA. LBJ was a socialists/progressive piece of shi*.

leroitroisieme   August 24th, 2010 - 6:56 am

Yes, people cannot grasp the fact that a man can shot three shots accurately from that distance. I have seen consecutive shots from a bolt action that you can swear was an automatic fire arm. Plus, they are not familiar of what a Marine scout sniper can do. They are trained to shot from long distances at multiple targets with a 'both action.'

This FBI agent is connecting dots that are not there. He hears someone say it and then, it happens. There are such things as coincidence.

JoeDoakes101   August 24th, 2010 - 6:58 am

An average Marine is an outstanding marksman. A Marine that qualifies as expert is the best of the best with open sights.

Rover_Bump   August 24th, 2010 - 7:00 am

Power corrupts, abosolute power corrupts absolutely. As a trained combat marksman, qualified as expert on every weapon in use by the military in 1970, I find it impossible to accept one person can fire 3 rounds from any bolt action rifle in the time allowed with the precision displayed. Even a semi-automatic M-1 gerand the military issued weapon at that time would be hard to accomplish the feat discribed. The recoil of the rifle and the rechambering of the next round the re-aquiring a moveing target stretches the boundry of physics beyond reality. All the spin in the world cannot change physics. The truth be told, national security was the issue, the security of those in government who more than likley had a hand in the deed.

Look up James E. Files or "I Shot JFK" on piratebay.org or wikipedia . He claimed to have been the "grassy knoll guy" and that he was the one who actually shot JFK. Watched his interview and the details he gave was pretty compelling to me. Others may disagree, but it's just my opinion.

gwar5   August 24th, 2010 - 7:33 am

Oswald was a marxist and also killed officer Tippet with a handgun that day while on the run, and that much is not disputed. Why was he running and why was he willing to kill to get away? Of the 3 shots fired from the school book depository bldg, the first one missed and hit the street curb ahead of the motorcade by the overpass.
.

vwhizbang   August 24th, 2010 - 7:38 am

It has been shown many times by ballistic experts. I have seen it so many times on the history channel that when it comes on now I just groan. Not only do they explain it, That's the way it works all the time every time.

MusicCityDawg   August 24th, 2010 - 7:56 am

This has been tested over and over. Any shot from the grassy knoll would have hit JFK from the side and likely hit Jackie as well. Getting off 3 rounds from a bolt action in a few seconds is not difficult and any military trained marksman of the day could have pulled it off. The feat has been reproduced more than once. The book depository window was not that far from JFK's limo.

Your looking on the surface thinking everyone else stops there! You need to do a little digging to find out more for you self!
You would have been better off to say George Washington was his favorite president or George was his uncle’s name and they were close. None of these are true? Stay on the surface where it's safe, okay.

SMFIII   August 24th, 2010 - 8:25 am

All I can tell you is at his last rifle re-qualifaction, he aced the range at 500 yards.

And he just finished the Rifle Instructors Course.

SMFIII   August 24th, 2010 - 8:28 am

"I have seen consecutive shots from a bolt action that you can swear was an automatic fire arm."

Wasn't there an incident from the beginning of World War I where some Germans ran across a batallion of British regulars and were massacered, and all the reports from the German side indicated that the devastation was caused by machine guns, but a.) the British batallion had none and 2.) they were armed with bolt action rifles.

I live in Downtown Dallas just a few blocks from where the JKF assasination occured.

It's very common when I have visitors in town that they want to go to the JFK museum. (Which isnt that bad) A few people that I have brought to the museum have backgrounds in military and law enforcement. All of them said that from the viewpoint of the window it would not have been a problem for 1 person trained to use a bolt action rifle to take the shots.

Conspiracy theories are for people who think they are smarter than everyone else. There is a museum across the street from the Book Depository for you too…

Follow the path of least resistance and there you will find the answer.

Oswald just happened to be working at the Texas Book Depository when the motorcade route was planned. It was coincedence.

rockstone   August 24th, 2010 - 8:49 am

Yes! And then Barbara Bush snuck into a hanger and sabotaged John John's plane before he could reveal who killed his dad!

Wesley69   August 24th, 2010 - 9:15 am

Another wingnut believing in conspiracy. I can accept Lee Harvey Oswald's involvement, but I believe there is more. Look up some of the things I present and judge for yourselves.

If you do to Dallas and stand behind the fence on the Grassy Knoll, you can tell the fatal shot did not come from there. (picket fence near Zapruder) Triangulating where the Presidential limo was and Kennedy's head position, it had to have come from in front at the corner where the railroad bridge meets the fence. The Zapruder film reveals Mrs. Kennedy crawling out onto the rear of the limo. Why, to get out or to pick up a piece of his skull? A major fragment of his skull flew backwards to the left. The tailing police motorcycle on the left was splattered with blood. Another VERY INTERESTING, LITTLE KNOWN FILM OF THE ASSASSINATION IS THAT OF ORVILLE NIX . Watch how JFK's body seems to lift up and back with the fatal shot. The Presidential Limo is key evidence in this investigation. Why was it cleaned in December removing all evidence of the assassination?

Wesley69   August 24th, 2010 - 9:16 am

Then there is the matter of over 100 people connected in some way with the assassination who have been murdered, committed suicide or experienced mysterious deaths. The coincidence of this is staggering. One strange case is that of Dorothy Kilgallen, a reporter, who interviewed Jack Ruby after he killed Lee Harvey Oswald. Miss Kilgallen stated that she was "going to break this case wide open." She died on November 8, 1965, cause, probable suicide. Within days, Mrs. Earl T. Smith, a close friend of Miss Kilgallen's died of undetermined causes. This is just one of many strange deaths.

There are so many theories and claims out there that we will never learn the truth, yet we as a democratic people desire to know. However, time is against us. It will go down as a mystery. Hopefully, the subject never dies, and younger researchers will sift through the evidence. ALL the government files need to be released and this HAS NOIT HAPPENED. Wingnut signing off.
.

SMFIII   August 24th, 2010 - 9:19 am

I just talked to Matt the Marine, his re-qualifacation, he hit 8 out of ten shots in the black at 500 yards.

And, yes, with a scope.

I'll have to plead old age for that mistatement, 'cause I swear he said he didn't use one.

My bad.

RobertB   August 24th, 2010 - 9:28 am

belcrome   August 24th, 2010 - 9:35 am

Not even close! But? You might want to type in John Kennedy the real story in google and watch the video. Where was George Bush Jr during the time the plane went missing?
Interesting stuff! Remember ignorance is bliss and minds are for people who think. Also koos, power struggles and the like only happen in other countries not in America. No one here is a criminal looking for power. No conspiracy here in this county where honor is king!
REALLY!

ROSCOO   August 24th, 2010 - 9:37 am

I, too, am an ex-Marine. If a Marine qualifies on the rifle range, that Marine will be awarded one of three badges. The highest honor is "Expert", then "Sharpshooter", and then "Marksman". Achieving the "Marksman" badge means you got up that morning and and made it to the rifle range on time. Lee Harvey Oswald qualified as a "Marksman". A "Marksman" could not have pulled this off!

ROSCOO   August 24th, 2010 - 9:42 am

Jack Marino   August 24th, 2010 - 10:13 am

This is insane all these shooters that were never convicted or sent to jail for killing the President. I love how the mob takes credit and all they do when they get caught is sing like opera singers. Oswald is a SOB, he killed Kennedy and his motivation was simple, we are talking about this worthless human being who would have lived his life and died in obscurity. This is a very simple murder and because the Warren Commission was left full of holes, the leftist wanted to erase what Jackie say about Oswald. " A dirty little communist killed my husband" If the Warren Commission was done right and it was, they left stuff out on purpose, because we the public would have found out just who incompetent our entire FBI, Dallas police force, the Feds were the gang that couldn't shoot straight. THe Warren Commission was written to protect the asses of our elected officials who allowed their Boss to go into Dallas without proper security. JFK himself was reckless, it was he who said no bubble on the car.

As gwar5 above posted Oswald had the gun, the motivation and he was cool, clam and collective about the whole thing. The three shots was shot in the right amount of time, the first missed and second went into JFK's back out his throat and severed his nerve that runs across our collar bone that controls our arm movement. That is why JFK arms are up by his throat he isn't grabbing the throat wound its a spasm. JFK had his back brace on or he would have slip lower into the back of the car seat. The head shot was from the back and blew out the side.

If anyone goes to Dallas, which I have that place is so small. anyone shooting on the grassy knoll would had been see and we would had have clear photos. The people that were on the sidewalk when the head shot happen probably saw JFK's expression on his face, that is how close everything is.

Oswald has achieved his goal, we are talking about him, he has become immortal. The rest of the BS is all for movies and books that made a lot of people rich because people want to believe in big conspiracies.

whatyathinknow   August 24th, 2010 - 10:26 am

Don't know if LHO did or didn't kill anyone. It has been made very unclear for years. But after listening to the Kennedy phone conversations on YouTube, especially the ones with Eisenhower on the missile crisis, it is clear no 'Illuminati' and no one was telling him what to do. That's enough to get anyone killed in that position.

imsailing2   August 24th, 2010 - 10:30 am

There will forever be controversy and different opinions. No matter what is discovered, I doubt the matter will ever be settled. It's hard to accept conspiracy theories because there were so many people there that day. If the official report was so far from right, it seems like there would be far too many witnesses.
However….

What I find extremely interesting is that JFK brought us back to the dollar on the gold and silver standard. That is a huge and bold move. That is a move that could easily get someone killed. Whack job or not, Oswald could have had some help and encouragement.

tiredofit2010   August 24th, 2010 - 10:44 am

Before you think Oswald acted alone – become a weapons expert/expert marksman. If after doing so, you can fire a similar type weapon as Oswald was purported to do, I will agree with you – Oswald acted alone. Until then – not so much.

The JFK Case: Oswald and His Twelve Handlers

With millions of documents released in the years since the JFK Act was passed… Now is the moment to sum up what we have, demand the rest,.. Although we may never know who fired the shots at JFK, you may agree that the new documents reveal who called the shots.

One important clue revealed in the documents is that the CIA consciously used Lee Harvey Oswald’s visa requests for espionage purposes before JFK was assassinated. A CIA office used Oswald as “bait” while simultaneously trying to…

Being a marksman doesn't mean that someone couldn't have made the shots. Maybe he wasn't interested in achieving a higher designation.

Or maybe he got lucky that day in Dallas.

If he'd missed one or two of the three, would you then say that as a marksman he could have made the other shot(s)?

Suvrec   August 24th, 2010 - 3:22 pm

Sir, You are a gentleman and a scholar, to retract in such a polite way makes my initial insult ridiculous, do please accept my apologies and of course it should go without saying thanks for your son's service

Suvrec   August 24th, 2010 - 3:24 pm

I agree, thank you for your service.

Suvrec   August 24th, 2010 - 3:26 pm

you ought to mention the cramped space, and the limited window movement.

In reality as the guy said all the "players" are dead or dying taking the secrets with them ……….

Kennedy was such a mythical figure, even before his assination. The Kennedy hero worship by the media back in the late 1950's and early 1960's is rivaled only by the Obama obsession today. When someone like Kennedy is viewed as larger than life it is difficult for people to accept that a single motivated gunman could take him down. It had to be the mafia or the Cubans or the CIA. I saw a documentary on TV not long ago that used computer technology to recreate the entire event. The Zapruder film was used to mark the position of the limo, Kennedy, Connelly and everyone else. Contrary to popular belief, Kennedy was not sitting directly behind Connelly in the limo. He was sitting a little bit to Connelly's left. When he is placed in the proper position you can trace a line through all of the wounds in Connelly and Kennedy directly back to the 6th Floor of the Depository. No magic bullet was needed. If the shooting had happened today with modern animation and technology, it would have taken about 10 min to prove that Oswald was the killer.

SMFIII   August 24th, 2010 - 3:51 pm

No apology neccessary.

300Mhz   August 24th, 2010 - 3:59 pm

When I worked at a bookstore, I put a book saying Oswald acted alone in the fiction section.

Blame the nut.
Doesn't take a genius to realize why Ruby shot him to shut him up.

W_Rules   August 24th, 2010 - 6:05 pm

Of course JFK was killed as the result of a conspiracy. There is no way on earth that LHO could have made all of those shots. The dictabelt recordings demonstrate 6 to 8 shots. Kennedy had multiple entry and exit wounds, others were hit close to the sidewalk with concrete chips, Connolly was hit, at least two weapons were used to fire the bullets found, etc. Anyone who says LHO acted solely alone is certifiably insane.

W_Rules   August 24th, 2010 - 6:06 pm

It is hard to tell that to the lunatic know-it-alls though.

W_Rules   August 24th, 2010 - 6:07 pm

Wrong. More than 3 shots were fired. They came from different angles. LHO was young and would have been scared as hell, no way he nails a moving target perfectly. Wake the hell up.

W_Rules   August 24th, 2010 - 6:13 pm

Bugliosi's trash book has been completely dissected already. How can you lunatics believe that garbage? Obviously because you do not know how much Vincent neglects to tell you. Listen as Jim DiEugenio rips Bugliosi's tripe to shreds:

"The Zapruder film reveals Mrs. Kennedy crawling out onto the rear of the limo."

Possibly to get the attention of the Secret Service agent who at the time was unaware that the President had been shot. She later said she had no recollection of going out on the back of the vehicle. One of the Secret Service agents speculated that she was trying to recover a bit of skull, but he was just guessing.
