FNC’s Baier: I Regret That Obama Chose His Responses the Way He Did

FNC's Bret Baier on interrupting President Obama: "I do respect the office and I do believe that in an ideal world in that Blue Room interview I would've liked to ask questions, receive answers and move on. But I felt like in this amount of time, with the clock ticking and me getting wrap signs from White House staff members, that I owed it to our viewers and to everyone tuning in to really try to press for answers and not the everyday response that that we've been hearing really for a number of weeks - almost a year plus - on health care reform."

Brett Baier is one of the finest and most honest reporters out there. It’s the president whose the sleaze bag here, a coward that wouldn’t answer Brett questions. Let’s face it, Barry is a weasel and a presidential bully, with his henchmen behind the scenes telling Brett, THAT’S A WRAP, THAT’S A WRAP!

BRETT COMMANDS RESPECT   March 19th, 2010 - 1:09 am

Brett certainly commanded a LOT MORE RESPECT than the childish & churlish Mr. O, who has WASTED AMERICA’S TIME & ENERGY & RESOURCES FOR OVER A YEAR NOW, and is only DRIVING OUR COUNTRY INTO THE GROUND.

To the “MAN BEHIND THE CURTAIN”:

AMERICA WANTS ANSWERS, YOU MANIPULATIVE CON-MAN!
America DOES NOT want this despicable “healthcare reform” NOR do we want an I.R.S. with “enhanced powers”!, NOR do we want Cap ‘n’ Trade NOR Amnesty NOR National I.D. cards!

WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE???

dfs   March 19th, 2010 - 1:12 am

He did a great job. Honest, on the mark and on point journalism, very rare to see these days. I think everyone was waiting for someone to get some real answers. Great job indeed!

MN   March 19th, 2010 - 1:19 am

Many of the American people did want answers and it was great to see Brett try to get some.

Pakistan briefed Cheney [about the plans for the terrorist attacks ahead of time] …nations also got wind of this and warned the CIA. We also had two walk-ins to the FBI, one in Orlando, one in Newark, that were dismissed by the FBI because the names were all virgins and not in the FBI data base—the arrogance of stupid bureaucracy.

Cheney saw an opportunity for what Bush called his trifecta, and gave it to him by giving the go-ahead to ISI and Al Qaeda, and ordering up a terrorism exercise that allowed him to send all relevant close-in air defense strip alert craft away from the target areas, and to disable the NORTHCOM normal response to flight path diversion.

So, I guess we are seeing how full throated Socialism/Marxism starts out. This is how Hugo chavez got elected and then took over. Bald faced lies, a controlled media at all costs; corruption, bribery, and threats in the party to get the others to help stack the deck for more power, just to set up the next takeover.

Like slipping in the student loan takeover into the health care bill. Energy and amnesty next which they figure will add 8 millions votes and ensure they will never lose again.

Everything about this President and his administration is a carefully crafted farce. An Oz style illusion, masking amateurish incompetence and a sprint towards Marxism, created by his staff of Clintonistas and perpetuated by a fawning LSM. Obama’s approval would be in the 30’s if there were actual journalists like Baier pressing for substantive answers all the time, and not just the same diarrhea Obama has memorized from TOTUS. Sadly I doubt Bret will be invited back to the White House any time soon.

obama sounded as if he was prepared for anticipated certain questions to which he had
rehearsed answers for but found it hard to deviate from what was rehearsed in his own
head. when he got a question out of his anticipated box he seemed to have trouble as if
he might lose his place. imo, he came across as unpolished with a sense of “how dare
you ask something that might make me look bad?” you just expect something more classy
from a president. would Natanyahu give such an interview? Never.

JoeTulsa   March 19th, 2010 - 3:01 am

Brett….you did fantastic! Obama tried his usual hogging of the floor,
filibustering, and you had to work hard to gently and respectfully interrupt
him so you could get answers. An interview is a process of asking questions and
hopefully getting answers, and when the President spews talking points and filibusters, which
is what he does all the time, the American people are happy that you were able to,
or at least trying to, press him for some answers. Good job!

The President has many opportunities to go on and on as he wishes: town halls, state of the union addresses, ABC health care special, the Blair House meeting (where he had/took much more speaking time than anyone), Saturday morning addresses, etc, etc, etc.

He did not respect the interview process. If Baier had let him, he probably would have used the entire time on one or two questions. Yep. I’m going to say it. The President was disrespectful of Bret Baier.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a President who was so enamored with the sound of his own voice.

George   March 19th, 2010 - 9:53 am

The first thing that stands out when they were walking down the hall is how much better dressed Bret Baire is than Obama. Obama has somehow made a traditional western mens suit drape over him like a top shelf Mao Tunic suit, and it is a shame. For less than half the cost of one of his famous Kobe Beef dinners he could make his suit look and fit as nice a Brett’s. But one area where Obama wins hands down- literally; is where he seems to be more composed… with his fingers intertwined together protecting his genital area from attack, drooped shoulders and assuming a very oriental wise zen master like quality. Whereas Brett was the complete opposite, he assumed a more western posture with open and animated arms, reared shoulders and a straight back- very aggressive. Obama is always thinking ahead of the curve; he knows that the Chinese own half of our debt and therefore half of the country and we should slowly start transitioning to a more Oriental look and composure so as to not upset the Chinese. Obama again- a visionary. For his excellent interview Obama should take a bow.

JervisTetch   March 19th, 2010 - 9:54 am

If Obama would have chose to answer Bret’s questions, he wouldn’t have been interrupted. Bret was respectful and never insulting.

Hooked on Obonics   March 19th, 2010 - 10:16 am

Obama is known for giving 10 minute answers. He had a press conference for an hour and only took 12 questions.

BB had only 15 minutes.

ESPN had more time with Obunion for NCAA brackets!

temple62   March 19th, 2010 - 10:22 am

Bret performed his task with excellence and gave the president every opportunity to simply answer the questions put forth. The president has no truth, he has to “fabricate” an answer and in the process simply dodges the question. I hope the 52% that voted for this liar got a chance to see his lackluster performance with Bret. True color were exposed.

Peggy Phillips   March 19th, 2010 - 10:26 am

I really appreciated Brett for actually asking real questions.

dm   March 19th, 2010 - 10:27 am

Way to go, Breit! You had to keep interrupting Obama. I too want to respect the Office of the Presidency but
Obama makes it challenging to do so. I find it difficult to support someone who does have the same
ideology I have. Obama is stripping us Americans of our freedoms and liberties. Thank you, Breit, for standing
up for us.

jp2feminist   March 19th, 2010 - 10:29 am

Face it, everyone — Obama only went on Fox to try to manipulate the audience that he knows does not support him. Right out the of gate he made it clear that “if you support this bill you are FOR health care reform; if you don’t you are FOR the status quo.” The man believes the Fox audience is stupid. But of course, we realize that his statement is false. We know that we do not support this bill for many, many good reasons, including the procedural crap that has been on display from Day 1, but that we are FOR health care reform. . .just not his version of health care reform. Obama is a child who only wants his own way.

Michelle   March 19th, 2010 - 10:30 am

No one is above the Constitution in our country, nor should the press avoid asking any question. The person can answer any way they desire, it is the responses which are most revealing. Bret was not asking for the codes for our military arsenal-just general information re: the legislation affecting most Americans which is contributing to a very dissatisfied electorate. With the sleazy tactics employed by the Democrats most people are very concerned with this government.

dm   March 19th, 2010 - 10:33 am

AZsmitty, Arizona   March 19th, 2010 - 10:44 am

When asked about his statement concerning 50 plus 1 making it impossible to govern is when BO dropped into fillubuster mode. I suggest to the party Democrat, this 50plus1 or deem/pass will come back to bite your harder than you can imagine. When the tables are turned, by all indications that will occur sooner than later, all the howling in the world will fall on deaf-ears when the trail in the senate for impeachment occurs and the 50plus1 is thrown in your faces, or better yet “we don’t even hold a vote” and deem/pass that he is guilty. Bye,bye Barry, bye-bye.

Brett is to be commended for trying to get our president to give straight answers, which he avoids doing at all costs.
The president is a committed progressive socialist who will use tricks and make any statement to advance his cause which is to fundamentally change our country into the European model. Thank God for true journalist like Brett who will stand up to him and seek the truth for the People.

As usual, the reich-wing is the first to disrespect and throw mud at the Office of the Presidency and act wounded when their own guy gets in there and the mud doesn’t wash off. Once again, you’ve lowered respect for the office and you better believe it’s gonna come back.

Jerry Smith   March 19th, 2010 - 11:01 am

I thought Bret did an awesome job in a most difficult circumstance. He was pretty much unsuccessful in getting any real truthful, factual answers but every one had to know, that was not possible, going in. As far as respecting the office I think he did very well given the circumstances. He who occupies the office of President must first respect the office himself. In my opinion Obama does not. He only respects the office to allow him to further his agenda at all costs. The journalists in the main stream media could take some lessons here and ask some tough questions themselves instead of carrying the water for this administration and we would not be faced with the devastating situation we are now facing.

Mary Ann   March 19th, 2010 - 11:10 am

Baier provided possibly the only actual interview with Obama ever. I’m sure he–Obama–thought he’d just be able to spout of his talking points, unchallenged, then get a few sycophantic followups. This has been the routine to date. Problem is Baier is an actual journalist.

This interview exposes just what an empty suit Obama actually is. How, like every leftest pol, he’s loath to answer direct questions directly. Obama will follow the ignoble path of Carter, this much is certain, but the public are now on notice just how misleading the 90% of the news media is. Proof being, that it was over a year until any journalist even dared tamper with the Obama distortion field and attempted to pin him down on one of his socialist tenets.

The President is elected to carry out his agenda whatever that is. That’s why we suffer through election campaigns and debates. Did you just wake up and realize you live in a democratic republic? Or do you think we do elections just for the hell of it?

As for Bush’s shoe-ing, I’ll be honest and say I thought it was hilarious (because he wasn’t actually hit or hurt) but I also thought that we can’t have people throwing shoes at the President of the United States. The President is the Head of State and must be respected as such. That was the Founders intent. If you want the same perks then run for the office, you’re free to run for it just like he did.

Donald Duck   March 19th, 2010 - 1:53 pm

Brett Baier did as good a job as any journalist could have done with a reluctant interviewee, which the messiah clearly was. Barry thought that by going on a news network that people actually watch, all he had to do was fillibuster. Baier would not allow him to do that without a challenge. The lap-dogs at ALL of the other networks would not have asked him a provacative question and if, by accident, they did, they would have allowed Barry to run out the interview clock and let him talk incessantly on some inane talking point. ELECTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENCES AND WE HE WAS ON DISPLAY WITH THIS INTERVIEW. WE MUST TAKE THIS COUNTRY BACK FROM THE DANGEROUS PHONIES AN UNINFORMED ELECTORATE “HISTORICALLY” PUT INTO POWER IN ‘08.

Oh, BTW, to to-the-masses….. posting at 12:46: You must be a highly skilled and respected SEIU/ACORN official, and if you are not, they are really missing the boat. Your posting was absolutely crystal clear and as articulate a posting I have ever read on any weg site. NICE JOB!!

Kudos to Fox and Brett Baier, excellent “interview> About time some one in the media got into Obama’s head. Think Obama thought by having “interview” w/Brett they would get a pass, alas not the case as O came across as the controlling bumbling idiot he is. Next time O should try Shawn Hannity. LOL

Beyond who did the interview everyone can witness the (non) answers, obfuscation, lies, ignorance and embarrassing self exposure of this condescending character who holds power against those who pay his salary.

Other questions of choice would have been – how cum you and Michelle never “spread your own wealth around”? How cum the congress doesn’t spread its own Cadillac health plans’ wealth around while unlawfully forcing the worst kind of health upon those who pay not only their salaries but those personal plans as well???

The president should be glad the subjects were quickly changed so that his lingering talk was prevented from exposing even greater ignorance on the subject – which he openly admitted to. Doesn’t know himself what’s even in the bill he chooses to force even illegally upon the American people. And that earthquake in Hawaii???? Maybe he wished it as “messiah” and actually believed it happened for that reason! It is simply too obvious that without that teleprompter puppeteer control the audience is once again treated to the emperor with no clothes. Brett was simply like the little girl in that tale who quietly announced that fact – that “emperor” had not clothes. Anyone who still clothes the guy is just admitting his own gullibility and stupidity.

I thought he treated the president with respect, he did ask sincere questions. No disrespect.

Army of Davids-I checked out Yuri Bezmenov 1983…wow! really explains the mess we are in and how we got to this point.
I went to youtube….well worth the watch.

Just a side note-I completed my census. I answered one question only:how many people live in this house. That is it. I hope all of you are taking a stand for freedom and doing the same. May God help us.

I commend you Brett for the tough stance you took to ask the hard questions eventhough
the president is chicken S$%^ to tell the truth;
You showed again how Obama has avoided answering direct questions the people of America wrote to have answered and you chose not to lick the A%% of the president as the left-wing/lame-stream media continues to do. Bravo!

Lame-stream media: Listen to FOXNEWS cause no one is watching or buying your pile of BS.

Brent eerrrr Bret…..You did a fine job. Problem was ole’ purple lips was not used to a journalist. Don’t worry about this neighborhood agitator, he has just taken his agitatin’ to a higher ( nation ) level. Piss on him.

We Missed It   March 19th, 2010 - 11:16 pm

WHERE can we find the video of the interview between Baier and Mr. O?

Proverbs 6:16-19,

“These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.”

You will never get a straight answer from this snake oil salesman..when nobama said Hawaii had an earthquake my brain went wtf there was a earthquake in Hawaii??
I know the main stream media ONLY reports what its told, but that is ridiculous.,why didn’t the reporter ask him what he was talking about.
Mr president is a clown.,i wonder if he drives around in his clown bus with the rest of his administration in the clown bus.

To March 19th, 2010 – 11:25 pm:

According to that passage you quoted from Proverbs, Bush and Dick are in BIG trouble because that describes the Bush Administration in a nutshell.
