There are too many broken systems in Washington that need to be fixed before this Government gets into a new business.
Based on the hemoraging of AARP members it’s a good thing AARP doesn’t use Obamacare or they would have to stand in line so long they would eventually die.

Because Social Security is a separate system, stupid. Medicare and Medicaid need to be improved and “fixed” but the idea that the World has to stop until that happens is just plain loopy. Using that kind of logic we would still be rubbing two sticks together to get fire. Something will pass and the result will be an improvement over what we have now–tens of millions of Americans that are uninsured, sky rocketing medical expenses, increasing insurence fees, and a totally inefficient system. Gramps doesn’t seem to mind the “socialist” medical system of government run Medicare that he now enjoys; he just doesn’t want anyone else to get similar benefits.
OK, seniors, AARP members and others approaching these age brackets it’s time to get the picture.
Generation X,Y, and Z are taking a pot shot at you through this administration and this not so thinly veiled socialistic assault. It’s time to fire back!
I propose reinstating the DRAFT from ages 18-36. No one collects SS without two years service. You can, if you choose, obtain an associates degree while serving. Also further college tuition can be supplemented with the maintenance of appropriate grade average.
Military career, also, always an option.
Baby boomers should have the political clout to accomplish this.

The reason “gramps” doesn’t mind a socialist system (medicare) is because the PRIVATE insurance companies offer SUPPLIMENTS that fill in the gaps/holes that exist in medicare. Ask anyone that has medicare WITHOUT a suppliment, they will tell you it SUCKS!
Social Security is going bankrupt. Medicare is going bankrupt. Medicaid is going bankrupt.
And what’s Obama’s solution – bankrupt the entire federal government.

While other countries have declared health care to be a basic right, the United States treats health care as a privilege, only available to those who can afford it.

The handwriting is on the wall with AARP — their CEO donated $9000 personally to Obama campaign. They lean to the left, far left in some cases– definitely do not represent our interests. The next group to go for me will be NEA. I have belonged for many years to the state association but I think it’s time to let them go, too. Their politics and mine to do not coincide. If there are any educators out there who can recommend a different organization –please feel free.

Babies: Born to individuals with no means to support them, to be immediately turned over to the State, and the parents to be identified and rendered unable to reproduce!.(acquired through chosen lifestyle).

Poverty: Health problems resulting from being poor, should not be covered, (poverty is a condition resulting from poor choices!)
Disease: Persons exposing themselves to disease via lifestyle (malls, bars, concerts, ball games, parties, etc….) should not be covered.

Illegal Aliens: Zero coverage, they must go back to their place of origin to seek medical attention!.

Is Obama a Socialist? Well, the way you define socialism is what percent of the economy does the government control?
When he took office it was 33 percent. After the stimulus package, it’s 40 percent. After health care reform passes, it will be 46 percent.

The newly installed CEO, A. Barry Rand, contributed $8900 to Obama’s campaign last year. The fact that he is black has absolutely nothing to do with this appointment. Nothing. At all. Also, his connections to unions have nothing to do with all this. Nothing. At all.
I am lazy, I have no job, no incentive to work on my own, I don’t have what you have and I want the government to take from you and give to me. I am a typical Obama supporter. It took great effort to send in my vote online and vote for Obama to pay my mortgage, give me free gas, and free health care. I DONT HAVE MINE. BUT I DO WANT YOURS. And there is nothing you can do about it.

Most people know Medicare is a socialist government program. I find it humorous when politicians think that fact is their ultimate zinger on expanding socialist healthcare. Interestingly:
1) People have paid into it their whole lives matched by employer contributions. It was the federal government who couldn’t manage it out of bankruptcy.
2) If a politician asks you if you want to drop your Medicare, simply reply “yes. You give me my contribution, my employer’s contribution, and interest over the length of time I’ve benn contributing, and I’ll drop it.” Then go buy a kick-a$$ private policy.
3) For those socialist countries who run healthcare systems, patient satisfaction is very low.
The WHO ranking of the US at #37 is deceptive at best. When you break it down, the US is #1 in patient satisfaction and patient response. We score low on cost burden. We score low on average lifespan. The cost burden can be attributed to the fact our healthcare is not fully socialist. I think that’s a good thing so the low score is fine with me. With respect to lifestyle, the US has people who don’t eat properly (too much, too fat, obesity), who get into accidents more often, and who shoot each other more often. These lifestyle issues have little bearing on the fact that our healthcare system is still the most responsive and innovative in the world.
The high cost of US healthcare is a burden, but the result is innovative medical treatments that are shared throughout the world.
The US has the best doctors, the best innovation, and the best care. This is what we want to maintain – which would be destroyed under a socialist healthcare system.

I too stopped working after B-HOE got elected. I thought it was time to stop paying any kind of tax and let working Americans take care of me. I’m entitled to it because Barry said so. It is interesting and SAD that there is no position by any of the health care providers, or their unions on mandatory government health care…
I remember last year in California an issue of pay came up for the California Nurses union and you never heard such a shrill union fight back…successfully I might add.
Where are these California nurses who are so quick to defend their paychecks?
