It takes a black female to get the MSM to have a positive story on our armed forces? Sad and pathetic. If it wasn’t Black History Month they wouldn’t have done that story, just shows their duplicity when it comes to such things.

MSM seems to be running military and security stories of all types to gin up impression Obama is pro-military, pro-security.

Obama is proof there is no lack of opportunity in the USA. Racists are all on the left. If you ran a story like that with a white guy controlling all black soldiers Sharpton, et. al., would be saying the military is hateful and racist.

I congratulate her on her accomplishments, and hope the best for her in her future endeavors, but…

If women can’t fight on the front lines, how can she teach other soldiers-in-training how to fight on the front lines, since she has not experienced battle field conditions? Especially if she’s teaching future drill sargents that will turn around and pass on her teachings to the raw recruits…

Maybe the answer lies in my guess that she wouldn’t hesitate to pull a trigger and blow a bad guy away/

Cyn, Drill Sergeants don’t all train combat troops, it is pretty much a leadership course they are taking.

I think its great dont matter if she cant fight on the front lines nice to see this story .

Since there was no mention of Sgt. Maj. King’s years of drill experience, it would be reasonable to assume that she has none. Though, I did catch something about her Master of Business degree, and her ongoing studies in Theology. So much for this being a promotion based on merit.

Our military is truly rotting from the head. Imagine how many tough, blood-and-guts drill sgts., black and white, with years of experience, were passed over to gin up this “remarkable story” on the second day of black history month.

In spite of your ignorant ranting, Gumby makes a valid point, and asks a legitimate question: Is this classic discrimination and sexism? I suspect that it most likely is in this case. There will be no racial justice in the U.S. until race and sex-based quotas and set-asides are eliminated. Never, ever, period. Gumby is exactly right in calling Affirmative Action what it truly is – Affirmative Racism, (and I would add Affirmative Sexism). Gumby didn’t attack this woman personally, nor do I. We are only speaking out against racism and sexism – pure and simple. If this woman were a black male decorated combat veteran, we wouldn’t be having this discussion. If you weren’t so blinded by hatred, you would see that this is a question of qualifications and merit more than anything else.

There’s no question who is the most bigoted, hate-filled racist in this forum. It is without a doubt YOU. I pity you, and I hope you can change, because that kind of bitterness and hatred eats you away from the inside, and steals your quality of life. And it steals from the ones around you too.
