Few Laughs as SNL Skit Rips ‘Angry Mob Unpopular’ Healthcare Bill

"Does anyone seriously think Nancy Pelosi could lose in her San Francisco district? A place where Republican candidates often finish fourth, behind professional dominatrixes and homeless people."

Listening to Democrats respond to reporter’s questions is like watching a mentally ill person respond.

If someone tells you their poll shows the bill is unpopular, and your response is, ‘No actually it is popular’, then you are mentally ill.

I just didn’t know mental illness was contagious.

Every Democrat from Obama on down has come down with this.

rockstone   March 7th, 2010 - 9:46 am

Where are the prop teleprompter’s?

we the people say NO but one man wants it so he gets to decide?   March 7th, 2010 - 9:50 am

so he wants to convince us that what is bad for us is good for us because he(obama)
says so?
if the bill is unpopular isnt that the clear message to scrap it?
obama thinks being obama is what causes intelligent people to make poor choices?
only among democrats and many of them are now clearly seeing the light.

Continue to ignore what the majority or the American people are saying in that they don’t want government run healthcare (Obamacare) and these three numbskulls will get their pink slips. We’re sorry but the American people no longer need your services “YOU’RE FIRED!!”.

SNL is so bad it’s quite depressing actually. When I watch these ass hats all I think about is the definition of “Insanity”.
I mean really…….it’s like they have body ordor or really bad breath and none of their friends are willing to let them know so they could fix it.
Pretty sad……

Jon   March 7th, 2010 - 10:05 am

Just cancel the damn show.

Nalora   March 7th, 2010 - 10:13 am

It is apropos that SNL skit portraying Obama speaking is as boring as hearing Obama speaking. I still say a funnier skit would be to have a crowd of lab-coat people follow him where ever he goes.

Puck 30   March 7th, 2010 - 10:14 am

Roller Derby could beat this show in the ratings.

Obama's Nose Picking Finger   March 7th, 2010 - 10:38 am

SNL knows their audience, and all one hundred of them are libs. It’s almost too late to turn the sinking ship around to start doing some real satire of the majority party or the president – notice how they never paint Obama in a bad light, or it’s just surface jokes that leave the main stuff alone. My goodness, if I had a comedy show I could come up with a million things funnier than this. Way to live on the edge SNL – and enjoy your “ratings.”

dPreacher   March 7th, 2010 - 10:57 am

This could have been written by the RNC or the Tea Party. It was a totally anti-liberal comedy sketch. We should enjoy it now, because they come along on SNL with the metronomic frequency of Haley’s Comet. But maybe there is hope for SNL. Let’s give them support when they do Right like this.

LoneSurvivor   March 7th, 2010 - 11:05 am

blorg   March 7th, 2010 - 11:10 am

At least they got things right about Harry Reid.

Nevadans get kind of upset when only $0.65 of every dollar they send to Washington comes back to the state while their senile senior Senator is the Senate Majority leader. All Nevada gets is a bogus prototype solar array that there is not enough water to keep clean.

Harry will join the ranks of Nevada’s 20% jobless. Hopefully, after the election, Pelosi will be homeless and looking for a new job as a dominatrix.

Midwest Jim   March 7th, 2010 - 11:47 am

Ironic that we are getting this on SNL now. Perhaps the single most balanced piece of reporting on our financial crisis that occurred right before the election was also on SNL – when their stand-in for slobbering Barney Frank actually admitted to Pelosi that it was Bush who tried to stop the Fannie Mae / Freddie Mac subprime mortage loan crisis before it overwhelmed us, and that it was Democrats who blocked his efforts. Google “snl fannie mae barney frank bush skit” Funny thing is that this skit has now been edited by SNL, and they removed the Barney Frank references – a bit of cleaning up history? The mainstream media never mentioned it – and the same liberals caused the subprime mess in the first place ended up getting put back into power, while the press and many of those voting were trying to blame Bush. This despite a huge number of New York Times and other sources that clearly documented Bush’s efforts to rein in Fannie Mae, and the efforts of Barney Frank and others to block him.

Better watch this skit while you can – it’s likely only a matter of time before SNL’s sensors delete this.

Fourth Stooge   March 7th, 2010 - 11:49 am

I understand Obama is already forming a blue ribbon bipartisan commission to reform the deeply flawed and unsustainable health care reform after it passes. Any Stern of the service workers union and Megan McCain will be in charge.

Five years from now, Chelsea Clinton and Ted Kennedy’s kid will co-sponsor legislation for the “final” reform of the reform of health care reform (the reform to end all reforms…). Then we’ll have another blue-ribbon commission…..

Et cetera. Ad infinitum….

notasheeple   March 7th, 2010 - 11:54 am

LAME……… as is this administration… If they think the USA hates this new entitlement program just wait until they pass it….Sharpen your pitch forks and boil the tar as “We The People” take a trip to Washington to do political cleansing…

oldbtwizer   March 7th, 2010 - 12:03 pm

to Midwest Jim,
Yes and the majority of U.S. voters are doing everyting but paying attention to the truth.

-Tea Party participants seem to pay attention to the important stuff
-African Americans pay attention to whatever the pastor tells them while they are in church on Sunday—all day in the south
-A majority of Americans are watching sports on TV or watching their children play sports and they deny that anything is wrong in America because the games are still being played
-Millions of others just don’t give a rip either because they have no understanding of economics or they believe that their favorite news reporters will tell them what to do
-Millions work hard, go home and take care of the family or zone out on drugs or alcohol

A lack of formal education doesn’t mean you have to remain dumb….does it?

JoeTulsa   March 7th, 2010 - 12:14 pm

Humor is often saying “out loud” truths that others are terrified to utter.
That’s what made Richard Pryor funny. The truth is that Obama’s healthcare
bill is wildly unpopular (3 to 1 are against it), but none of the mainstream
media (CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS) are uttering that truth. So yes, it was funny.
The lack of laughs in a New York, mostly lib, audience, was not a surprise.
A funny aside is that the libs are cowed by political correctness, i.e. they
actually feel it’s racist to disagree with President Obama. This is a sad
state of affairs for the libs; they accuse conservatives of racism for
opposing Obama, so far be it for them to laugh at joke about Obama’s unpopular
bill. They wouldn’t want to appear racist. Whatever happened to free speech
and dissent?

Guest   March 7th, 2010 - 12:24 pm

These libs have no sense of humor. No progressive does. The can only hate, and hate erodes the container and ultimately destroys the hater.

Compare this “humor” with that of Chaplin, Lloyd, or Jack Benny, all of whom could make us laugh with a mere facial grimace or twist of the head.

john   March 7th, 2010 - 12:25 pm

SNL is not funny because they’re cowards. SNL is totally afraid of really baffooning Obama, or Pelosi, or Reid. They have elections coming up and the HC bill is precious to our dear leader. They would not be welcome in lefty circles if they really went after Obama. They’re total cowards.

.

mojo   March 7th, 2010 - 12:34 pm

John- you’re right

They are not funny and this is not free speech. They are afraid and intimidated to go after Obama, Pelosi, and Reid, even if they were not simpatico with him. If the “cutting edge” comedians who have artistic license won’t get after the Obama gang, then nobody will.

This is not America. This must be a glimpse of what it’s like in Venezuela since Chavez took down the last opposition TV station.

bitterweed   March 7th, 2010 - 12:52 pm

SNL used to have it’s ‘funny’ moments..now that it has become a vehicle for Obama’s agenda..it appears to be rocketing down the tube. I didn’t know comediennes liked pimping for politicians..let alone, killing their futures..NBC is hell bent for destruction..

renojmc   March 7th, 2010 - 12:57 pm

Not funny, neither on SNL or especially in real life.

olddog   March 7th, 2010 - 1:03 pm

I haven’t watched SNL for at least 15 years and after seeing this clip, I’m reminded why.

Donald Duck   March 7th, 2010 - 1:09 pm

Is SNL still on?? Hmmm, that show stopped being humorous years ago but, since only a few groupies continue to watch it and it is an important political arm of the DNC, it will continue to stay subsidized by GE and stay on the air. Funny, but Nancy Pelousy and Hairy Screed are funnier in real life. As for the show avoiding going after the real comedian, Barry Hinsane Nobamma, that is SOP by mainstream TV and the press.

Want to know what a GREAT way to call out these liberal mafiosos would be??

Gather in front of their headquarters and production studios in large numbers to protest them DIRECTLY!!! Call them out on their slander and lies toward the real Americans who just want their nation back, I can’t believe this hasn’t yet been thought of. Do it before the November elections to put them on notice that you will not be smeared prior to the vote. 30 Rock, NY Times bulding, CBS and ABC too are all very close together.

Speaking of humor, American Thinker posted an article today called “Top 100 Films of the Obama Era” This is a list of facetious movie titles composed by postrs at the website “iowtheworld.com It’s already been mentioned on Blogs Lucianne Loves

For example on the subject of healthcare we have the titles “Don’t Tell Rahm The Health Care is Dead”, “Kill Bill 3200″, “When Harry Bribed Mary”, “It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad Congress”, “Dirty Harry Reid” See, we’ve already had more laughs than SNL provided.

If you want to post it here, Mr Breitbart, I certainly won’t put up a fuss. I’ll even give you the link

LCHad: back in the Happy Days of Fonzie, (remember him?) there was an episode where
the Fonz went surfing and had to jump (over) a shark to survive. Translates to when a show has gone on much to long it has “Jumped the Shark.” Or, to bring it up to today’s standard: “Nuked the Fridge”, ala Indiana Jones 4.

network NBC is truely a chartiy case the perfect example of liberal economics at work. Nobody wants it or cares
about it anymore but the filthy rich old liberal dinosaurs that keep this network propped up still keep
funding crappy shows like this so their best buddies like lorne michaels can still have a job.

snaggletoothie   March 8th, 2010 - 3:41 am

Some of the suits at NBC are figuring out which way the wind is blowing so they won’t let the SNL writers write their usual lib drivel. But this skit was the minimal effort the thwarted writers and actors would put into the new direction.
Maybe the writers could try selling men’s suits or insurance. They might put a little more of themselves into it if their pay depended on the quality of their work. And maybe they are only good enough for government jobs. Makes you wonder how long NBC will prop up a loser.

me   March 8th, 2010 - 7:41 am

Who watches SNL? Who wastes space on the DVR recording SNL?

Maladroit   March 8th, 2010 - 9:42 am

Fred used to “do” a better Obama, but for some reason he stopped studying Obama’s speech patterns (or the teleprompters, I should say).

You folks are missing the point:
Liberal-leaning SNL did another hit on the Dems. As mild as it was, he DID say the health care reform bill was “wildly unpopular”. Then went on to trash Reid and echoed our own sentiments that wacky San Fran will always re-elect their queen.

The lack of laughter was due to a typically-moonbat-infested New York audience who still believes that Barry walks on water.

SNL Fail   March 8th, 2010 - 2:15 pm

Sounds like a laugh-track to me. Especially since the “laughter” begins and ends so abruptly (stops immediately when the guy starts speaking again, “cuts” on and off).

Not a funny skit, either. The guy who plays Obama on SNL doesn’t do a good job of it, he omits the negativity of Barack Obama, the glaring, yelling, pointing, erratic temperament of B.O., plays him too easy-going, too consistent, so the performance fails: it’s not comedic, it fails to note and ridicule Obama’s obvious personality failings if not his irrational, arrogant and self-indulgent spoiled nature.

Dave   March 8th, 2010 - 2:31 pm

Quite frankly there is very little that is funny about the healthcare non-debate. In fact it is so serious as to be the difference between a free captalist based society and the tip over the edge to a predominately socialist society.

Tom Graman   March 8th, 2010 - 2:43 pm

A white man playing the role of the President and a young man playing the role of Harry Reid. Thats dumb, not funny.

The writers of Saturday Night Live cannot get even the simple parts right.

The writers cannot bring themselves to do real comedy about our president.

A high school play could do a funnier and much better job than those democrats running the Saturday Night Live show. Saturday Night live refuses to do a good job of comedy about democrats, so they will fail.

When left-leaning SNL makes jokes about how unpopular Obamacare is you know it’s really unpopular. Most democrat politicians simply don’t care what the American people think.
