The involvement of the White House is indisputable. The act of a federal agency on behalf of the White House dispersing federal funds to favored groups who then use those funds to propagate the political agenda of the White House is an indisputable violation of the Hatch Act. The woman who made the call to the NEA was Buffy Wicks (Deputy Director of the White House Office of Public Engagement) who works directly under Valerie B. Jarrett (whose official title is Senior Advisor and Assistant to the President for Intergovernmental Affairs and Public Engagement), who works directly under Barak Obama. Both of those women work and have offices INSIDE the White House, so does anyone really doubt that Obama was aware of this stuff going on? Can anybody spell “impeachable offense”?

The problem isn’t using the arts for advocacy. The problem is using TAX DOLLARS to promote a particular agenda. That is a huge problem and a huge conflict of interest. Any agencies who participate in this should lose their federal funding as well as any tax-exempt status they may enjoy.
