Why is this news. Did he shoot anyone? Did he harass anyone? Were any laws broken? Seems to me he was acting calm and responsibly. I live in Phoenix and have a CCW.

It’s insurance that the governance in this country would FEAR the populace if all else failed and tyranny began to rear it’s ugly head. Our founding fathers had just taken on arguably one of the most powerful militaries on the planet at the time. A LOT of people died and fields were awash in blood, and all of them were to be captured and hung on sight for treason, and they were more afraid of what the government THEY were creating could become than the British.

Personally I think this was needless provocation. Just more meat for media to transform this into a story about ‘the Right’.

They reported this guy as pro Obama and he isn’t. He is against the health care plan; he is against the government controlling it. Does the media even listen anymore? I know the government doesn’t, mabye they will start to. This guy is cool and has some balls.

I would love to see more of these ‘demonstrations’ of our rights as U.S. citizens. Maybe then the twits in D.C. would remember just who it is they are working for.

It does not make much sense to carry a firearm to an event featuring the President of the United States as a ploy to exercise one’s rights. Given that we as Americans do have a right to keep and bear arms, what would we say when a nutjob would see this as an opportunity and grab that gun from this guy and use it to shoot someone there maybe even the President. Believe me, if that were to happen, that would be the end of our “rights”. I for one would be the first to throw my vote to curb gun rights big time. What most people do not think about when they exercise their rights is that doing so usually ends up with someone else’s rights being trampled upon.

Guns have NO place at political gatherings of any kind. Allowing them near the president is NUTS, I have a feeling that the paradigm has shifted. Whether intentional or not. A black man with an assault rifle is a game changer.
