I don't understand why she had to issue an apology. She did not call anyone a name. She repeated a word that's often used by others without a second thought. The caller is an idiot. She said Dr. Laura can't say the word because she is not black? Isn't that racist?

I was watching a crime show on A&E (48 Hours) and a young detainee said "My ni@@a" about four or five times when refering to another black man. It's RAMPANTLY used in black culture.

Remember, it was Jesse Jackson who was caught using the N-word while telling someone how he'd like to emasculate the sitting president for "talking down" to people of that particular race. Dr. Laura was right about the word being thrown around all of the time by various blacks.

I used to listen to Dr. Laura's program then one day a woman of 50 called in telling Dr. Laura she was having a baby and a few other bits of information. Without hesitating Dr. Laura told the woman to give her baby up for adoption. I considered it extremely unprofessional to give that kind of advice in that format with so little time getting to know the situation. The woman's husband was never given a chance to input.
