This was a valid question that did not get a direct answer. It is apparent that our Government has become Dysfunctional, simply put over our history we have indebted ourselves to the point that our present situation demands that we address our survival as a Nation first and foremost, If we do not survive due to fiscal irresponsibility, what good are all these legislative measures being debated and adopted within Government.
I believe a new revolution is in order, this one will not be fought with Musketts and Powder, but rather the purchasing power of the people. This must be strategic in design, and needs leaders of integrity capable of uniting the masses and focusing their attention on the strategic battles that will have the most financial impact on government, only in this manner will they become rational and attentive to our concerns.
Loan forgiveness? Why loan forgiveness? How about a tax incentive for livestock veterinarians if they’re so worried about animal to human communicable diseases? I think the Swine-Flu has only been found in a few animals; Other than swine, I believe a cat, and horse. Was this merely to get Representatives with rural constituencies on board? If everything’s on the strait and narrow here, why was it all done so clandestinely and without notification to the American people? Why did they vote down a provision to post all such Bills online for three days prior to a major vote? And of course, it’s Pelosi’s bill that get’s the hush hush treatment. And it won’t add a dime to the deficit? Free as the air, huh? What spending of this magnitude will not cause any backlash – are they deluded or just plain evil?

4. IMMEDIATELY ALLOW AMERICANS TO CROSS STATE LINES TO OBTAIN INSURANCE.
5. IMMEDIATELY BEGIN TORT REFORM LEGISLATION.
6. STARTING IN 2010, MAKE ALL PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS *INSURABLE* BUT PATIENT MUST PAY AN ADDITIONAL PREMIUM FOR COVERAGE. (THERE IS NO WAY THAT PRIVATE INSURERS ARE GOING TO TAKE ON A WHOLE NATION OF PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS WITHOUT THEM GETTING *HELP* WITH ADDITIONAL PREMIUMS TO COVER THEIR COSTS!! Correct way of debating and passing bills in Ccongress requires what Obama promised was transparancy; i.e., keep eveeryone fully informed as to what is in the Health Care Bill (and all other Bills), to read it and understand it, before the Bills are voted on. There should be some productive communications between the Congress Members and the Voters. Rapidly passing a Bill that takes one/sixth of our Nation’s economy should be debated thoroughly. Take very close examination across the Nation and determine who is not taken care of right now. In our County, Indian River, takes care of everyone in need of care, including illegal immigrants, indigents, drug addicts, HIV infected persons, insured or not. There is no delay for medical or surgical care. We have enough professionals to ddo the work. Add millions more to the demands, frivolous or not, will overburden the system and place us in the Canada and UK mode, with delays of those who need urgent care. You’ve got the wrong bill number, the wrong year for when the EU banned antibiotics for growth promotion, and completely the wrong info about the effect on animal health resulting from the ban. The truth is that when Denmark–the world’s leading pork exporter–eliminated the nontherapeutic use of antibiotics in 1998 (as proposed in Slaughter’s bill), overall antibiotic use went DOWN by over half with no harm to animal welfare or increase in consumer prices. Under this policy, pork producers are still allowed to use antibiotics to treat sick animals. At the same time, rates of antibiotic-resistant diseases in humans has gone DOWN in Denmark. The EU followed suit with a similar policy in 2006. Anyone who doesn’t think that veterinary oversight of animal agriculture practices isn’t intimately linked to human health hasn’t been paying attention to recent world events.
