Obama’s New Financial Reform Law Exempts SEC from Freedom of Information Requests

Under a little-noticed provision of the recently passed financial-reform legislation, the Securities and Exchange Commission no longer has to comply with virtually all requests for information releases from the public, including those filed under the Freedom of Information Act.

The law, signed last week by President Obama, exempts the SEC from disclosing records or information derived from “surveillance, risk assessments, or other regulatory and oversight activities.” Given that the SEC is a regulatory body, the provision covers almost every action by the agency, lawyers say. Congress and federal agencies can request information, but the public cannot.

That argument comes despite the President saying that one of the cornerstones of the sweeping new legislation was more transparent financial markets. Indeed, in touting the new law, Obama specifically said it would “increase transparency in financial dealings.”

I've been considering yesterday's talk about the traditional left-right spectrum being flawed. I've decided to whenever practical, refer to the so-called political “left” as Progressive Communists or ProComs. They are no longer the Democrat Party of my father, so I am not comfortable with the term "Democrat". It fails to describe their true nature. Their philosophy is not "progressive", nor "liberal", nor "democratic" in any real sense of he words.

They are not the revolutionary peasant Communists of the Bolshevik era, although their roots are undeniably there. Today's Progressive Communist is much more patient, more powerful, and more wealthy. However, their end goal, their philosophy taken to it's logical conclusion, is communism, They are willing to take a patient, incremental approach, versus a revolutionary one, but the end is the same.
Incrementalism has brought the “left” the successes they enjoy today, to the expense of patriots. Much as a disease that advances in stages, their approach to achieving global collectivism can accurately be called "progressive", but only when used as a modifier to their real agenda, which is global, centralized state-run collectivism, or communism. So, from now on, I will refer to the left as Progressive Communists, or “ProComs”.

Actually, gun rights are specifically delineated in the federal US Constitution as a right to all citizens of the USA. Direct election of senators is also legally covered in a US Constitutional amendment. You don't read much do you?

I know that you're an asshole paid bigot hired by Huff Puff, but still, work on your details. The number of blacks voting based on skin color is much smaller than 98%. According to polls about 34% of blacks vote based on skin color. In looking at the Obama Hillary primary votes about 85% of blacks voted for the black person. Of those, some of them must have thought he was the better candidate, at least 50% of them would normally think so. So that leaves maybe half of 85%, roughly 42.3% that voted for him because of his color.

He didn't whine & cry about it. He didn't whine about fairness when he was treated unfairly. He had a family to support & no one else was going to do it because we don't live off other people. He worked hard just so he could claw his way up 20 years later to a decent job. Now whiners like you want to take everything he has worked for.

I don't even know who "all of us" are? Why would I want you in jail? Why would I hate you? Have you broken any laws?

You Regressives can't stand on your own policies and debate them. I hated all your dumb ass policies when the Clintons were peddling them, but I suppose that made me a racist.
