"I think that we would get a good policy out of a series of bills that were brought up over the next several months. What I think we should do is have discrete votes on all of the issues."

Job security…incrementally filibuster each and every amendment and proposition to this “white elephant”.

H2K   January 20th, 2010 - 9:53 am

I have a great idea: why don’t we just drop any non-free market healthcare initiatives? So if you broke up this bill into smaller chunks, all you would have left were communist/socialist smaller bills. Drop the whole thing.

1) tort reform
2) buying across state lines
3) health savings accounts
4) import quality medicines to add competition
5) no government healthcare for illegals. If they want it, they can buy health insurance on the open market. If they can’t afford it, they shouldn’t be here
6) catastrophic (high deduction) policies for cheaper premiums
7) many many other great idea.

discrete votes?

Joe Ryder   January 20th, 2010 - 9:54 am

Scarborough is a Liberal hack. He just liked to call himself a Republican.

Jac   January 20th, 2010 - 9:56 am

Someone should inform the representative, as he for some reason has forgotten that HIS PARTY HAS CONTROLLED CONGRESS FOR FOUR YEARS! It’s comical to hear him rail against “the previous congress.”

TEAPARTY: can you hear us now?   January 20th, 2010 - 10:01 am

from the NY Times which once tried to dismiss the TEA PARTY:

“Beyond the bill, the election of a man supported by the Tea Party movement also represented an unexpected reproach by many voters to President Obama after his first year in office, and struck fear into the hearts of Democratic lawmakers, who are already worried about their prospects in the midterm elections later this year.”

we will soon make beleivers out of Olberman and the rest at msnbc…. WE ARE TEA AND WE MATTER!

Jack Ryder   January 20th, 2010 - 10:02 am

These idiots just keep saying that they did not explain the bill well enough to the people…. IMBECILES. We are just too stupid to understand. The fact is, we did get the bill explained and we figured it out ourselves, despite their lies.

The truth is they can NOT get away with the old way of lying and sneaking crap through in order to screw and destroy America. “Discreet Votes”….. what a pathetic liar and not one of these clowns called him out on it.

We have the internet and cable and TALK RADIO !!!!! No more, LIARS !!!

Mark   January 20th, 2010 - 10:03 am

Well, if they continue down the road of stubborn stupidity then they will all be signing their resignations come Nov. If NJ, VA, & MASS can CHANGE so can this administration.

deni   January 20th, 2010 - 10:15 am

Is Delahunt kidding? Another fine example of NOT GETTING IT!

no they didnt explain it that is why we read it for ourselves and we dont like it.

they didnt want it explained.
they knew if it was explained it would have been rejected immediately.
remember they tried to get this passed without even being read at all!

we are TEA and we matter!   January 20th, 2010 - 10:37 am

they could take a lesson from Domino’s.
sinking dominos began to LISTEN to their customers who said their crust was beginning to taste like cardboard, and all kinds of other distasteful comments…

they boldly posted the complaints so customers could see it and told everyone they were busy working on it… they fixed it, and wholla customers are coming back.

just because yu have reached a point of success does not mean you can lay down on the job. if ya wanna lay down resign and go to some beach and let someone with enthusiam for the job do the job.

“DISCRETE VOTES”

What’s the definition of insanity?

JEK   January 20th, 2010 - 11:10 am

“It’s just too complex” Rep. Delahunt.

Translation: the American people are too stupid to get it. No, Sir, we DO get it – that’s why WE DON’T WANT IT.

kmichaels   January 20th, 2010 - 11:14 am

I have claimed for years that it makes no sense for Americans to have such large bulky bills that are all over the map. If we really believe in individual subjects then why not vote on them individually. This crazy idea of jamming everything together in order to buy off various reps is what gets us forced into such bad bills and bad conditions in the first place. And of course the Republicans have said that health care reform was better off by breaking it up into smaller parts all along. Not that republicans dont have overly large bills too. They too play the same game and it is a shame.

Lily   January 20th, 2010 - 11:19 am

What in the H#ll is a discrete vote? Is this the kind that happens on
Christmas Eve when the people are busy with their lives and not
watching?

kmichaels   January 20th, 2010 - 11:22 am

BTW, Delahunt is a complete and utter moron totally wrong on every concept he tried to explain. He did not answer questions directly. When he tried to make his points he made all the wrong points and what he said was just plain wrong.

He did get it correct that things should be broken up into smaller parts. However, his reasoning was just all wrong and what he thinks the people want is totally messed up.

Zack   January 20th, 2010 - 11:37 am

HEALTH CARE IS DEAD, DEMOCRATS ARE JUMPING SHIP. TWO DEM. SEN. HAVE ALREADY SAID THEY ARE RETHINKING HEALTH CARE AFTER WHAT HAS JUST HAPPENED.

Democrats can’t hear anything, they have been plugging their ears and completely missed the point of the election.

Rep., this is a reality check and you and the Dems have been checked. Now learn from it and start representing the people. Don’t just act like it because watchdogs are watching and reporting it to America.

No more blaming Bush, though Obama won’t stop. We don’t care about Bush, the Dems haven’t done anything to fix the problem.

Virginia. Jersey. Now Massachusetts. The Dems are in denial, but real change is already coming…And will be a tsunami in November.

Kenny C   January 20th, 2010 - 11:43 am

This clown still doesn’t get it….next election he’ll wake up when he’s on the unemployment line

david   January 20th, 2010 - 11:48 am

Rep. Delahunt in the video says the Democrats failing on health care had to do with how they explained their reforms. What a joke! We understand what they have been trying to do and have rejected it. What an insult that he thinks we are too stupid to understand. Delahunt is the dumb one because he still does not get the message!

Mary   January 20th, 2010 - 11:55 am

He gets it….just wants to keep shoving his fascist agenda down our throats. He thinks small bites will make it easier—-He is ready to be tossed out!!!

markoe   January 20th, 2010 - 12:06 pm

i wouldn’t let this blonde bimbo teabag my dog

merle   January 20th, 2010 - 12:21 pm

They ignored the tea parties.

Now they are ignoring this election.

I guess the dems are that “fool me twice” (or more) idiot.

Let them stew in their stupidity and ignorance. They’ll be paying more later.

Xander   January 20th, 2010 - 12:35 pm

Yeah I liked what he was saying until the “discrete” until I checked on Google to make sure I spelled it correctly for this comment.

discrete (adj) – Separate; distinct; individual; Something that can be perceived individually and not as connected to, or part of something else; Having separate electronic components, such as individual resistors and inductors — the opposite of integrated circuitry; Having separate and independent channels …

Stupid congress critters and their vocabulary

jarjar   January 20th, 2010 - 1:01 pm

They should have considered this from the start. We could have individual bills that everyone agrees on: ban on pre-existing conditions clauses; malpractice reform; ban on coverage caps; etc. Not a monstrous subsidy of insurance companies.

Greg   January 20th, 2010 - 1:08 pm

HI all DEMS think the PEOPLE OF AMERICA are stupid or something check out this video and judge for your self this healthcare bill is a Socialistic act on American’s, No one should think this healthcare plan is going to help Them/you all its going to do is help the Government not pay for low income family’s care and they will have the RIGHT to kill you and not pay for your care

PWTexan   January 20th, 2010 - 2:29 pm

Thank You My good Yankee Friends for last night’s message! We must get together some time and have a cup of TEA!; Show photographs of each other that the FBI took of us and discuss all of our terrorist ties.

I would like to say that Obama and the left wing will not acknowledge their defeat in all of their left wing agenda…AHHHH…but they will be held in check by those old blue dogs out there…they have the power again…let’s hope they done chicken out this time and cower down like they did before.

kmichaels   January 20th, 2010 - 3:04 pm

It is not only unimportant that the democrats understand why this happened it is stupid to think that they will ever get it. The important thing here is for those that do get it to vote out those that dont get it (the dumbass democrats)

Proud2bAmerican   January 21st, 2010 - 12:23 pm

Discrete??? Are you kidding me? Americans are WIDE awake and engaged, they know they can no longer sleep, their country, their freedom is at stake! Thank GOD Brown won, even still these career politicians don’t get it! We are Americans and we will fight to the end to save our beloved country! We can’t afford this ridiculous healthcare, small bites of the elephant are still too much for us to swallow. People who expect their govt to hand them everything at the expense of fellow Americans are shameful, get a job and pay for your own healthcare like the rest of us! As far as the politicians go, c’mon Americans, YOU have the talent, power and ability to reclaim the blessings of this country, be ELECTABLE, like Brown, so we can vote the bums out! Get active in the 912project and live free….or die.
