The unions and welfare recipients do not create jobs, they do not innovate, they do not file patents or generate wealth and prosperity. They consume, they lack the necessary skills and motivation to accomplish such things. Giving a man a fish each day means he no longer needs to know how to fish for himself. You want what you perceive to be "equality' by no one having more then their neighbor – that is except the political class and those in Hollywood.

Truth is – the only path to prosperity is for everyone to produce for themselves but the progressives do not want this. The 2001 tax cuts were passed 58-33, including 12 Democrats. The 2003 tax cuts were passed 51-50, including 2 Democrats. Neither would have passed without Democratic support (and the conditions they required for that support).
