I worked in Detroit on the Billy Crystal movie “61″. We filmed some scenes at the old Detroit Tigers stadium, and Conyers showed up. He grabbed the microphone from one of the assistant directors, who was using the P.A. system to give instructions to all the extras in the stands, and started ranting how the Republicans in Congress were trying to weaken the Civil Rights Act. He would not shut up. He started to get booed because everyone in the stands was white – we were recreating Yankee stadium in the 60’s and to be accurate we had very few black extras- and they were in no mood to hear his race-baiting rants. The look on his face was priceless. This is Detroit, I’m not supposed to get booed. His whole family has always been a bunch of race-baiting crooks.
Why SHOULDN’T Monica Conyers be the perfect person to make an example of? She’s well-connected by her marriage to a powerful Congressman, she’s loud, brash, and confrontational, she’s got a chip on her shoulder the size of her head, and she displays a sense of entitlement to preferential treatment like few people I have ever witnessed in all my years as a news junkie. If she wasn’t for real, you wouldn’t believe a fictional character that acts the way she does.
The worst part about this is that Detroit is so congenitally dysfunctional this may not doom her chances for elected office in the future. Look at what happened to Marion “That b*tch set me up” Barry, who continues to enjoy support in Washington, D.C.!
Talk about putting lipstick on a pig.
Obama will pardon her then give her a BS job with the other Tsars.

I can not tell you how excited I am that someone in the spotlight in this country actually got punished for doing something wrong WOW!!!!
If more politicians, athletes and Hollywood personalities would get punishment the way the rest of the world get it. (and by the rest of the world, I mean everyone else BELOW them)
The world would be a much better place, if there was a level playing field and I would bet anyone, any amount of money that things would change…..if the politicians, athletes and Hollywood celebs, thought that they might actually get in trouble for taking bribes or doing drugs on the cover of a magazine or just plain breaking the law. Until that happens, the world is a messed up place and we only have us to blame for people like Conyers. Because we are the ones that let them do it and then re-elect them.
Lets start sending that message and making this a better place for all of us. Conyers may have forgotten, but I think “we were all created equal”…..and I will leave with a bet; I bet a million dollars that Conyers has no idea where that quote is from

That’s not accurate. Kwame went to jail for being like Bill Clinton. Tiger was fooling around, but that isn’t a crime. Kirkpatrick fooled around AND lied about it under oath. That IS a crime.

Former NBA Star, Dave Bing, is the new Mayor of Detroit. He is a man of integrity and honor and a businessman.
He is not a slave owner! He is a free man and he treats others as free men and that will be good for Detroit.
He has a plan to move the population of Detroit into a more uniformed city instead of being scattered around in pocket areas of poverty and inner city destruction. That will help the water, electricity, etc departments in the city to centralize their service, also!
He plans on then using the land to farm…which will also be good for Detroit!
