Wow, talk about being dumber than a box of rocks.
The correct word is “shocked”. To be electrocuted means to die from the electrical shock.

Dr. Stanley Milgram, at Yale I think, designed and carried out the original experiments several decades ago that underlie the French show. He was interested in an individual’s susceptibility to authority; his interest was sparked, as I recall, by the terrible measures carried out by regular German citizens during Hitler’s rule and wars in the 1930s and 1940s.

Where do they find these people who are so gullible? Just like people who find it hilarious when someone smacks face first into a tree on Americas Funniest Home Videos.
Or when someone is rolling on the ground in pain and people die laughing at his pain.
Then we wonder what is wrong with the youth of this country.
I’m not connecting to any video, although that doesn’t mean there is a problem with this website. Sometimes my computer likes to block everything.
Many years ago I remember reading about experiments with the same theme. It was part of a psych class – somewhere in between Pavlov’s dog and ape linguistics. The average person was willing to inflict much more pain on another person than I would have ever imagined. I think we even watched a video of the experiment.
Then, the next week, we had to go out into the hallway and talk to strangers and see how close they would let you get to them during a conversation. Then we averaged the numbers during class to see what kind of personal space the average person in the hallway needed. That information and a dollar will buy me a newspaper.
This funny. I saw it on the Simpsons years ago. It was hilarious then and I’m sure it will be funny on this show. Even more funny is the amount of money paid to the creator or creative team to “Think” this up, (I assume it’s alot plus a cut of the take, etc.). I hope Homer and all the Simpsons get a cut too.

I think the game show is called “Vichy France”. Certainly explains why the French collaborated far more than any phony so-called “resistance”. During WWII, the French repeatedly exceeded their quotas for hunting “Jews” in order to get ahead. Still a nation of shame 60 years later.

I have no particular love for the French, but that’s how I feel if I’m ever exposed to Jer.ry Spring.er, Op.rah, The View (or as I called it, the “P-U”), Maury, etc, etc. It doesn’t look like the French have a monopoly on stupid.
Anyone who’s ever taken an introductory psych course knows about the original experiments… I wouldn’t have believed it for a moment… I’m not entirely surprised though, that they were still able to find people stupid enough to buy into it.
