As a Canadian who like many through out the world, closely follow US politics, I can tell you with complete confidence, that this woman would have been buried beyond page 4 in Canadian newspapers after November 2008, and seldom, if ever, heard from again. It totally baffles us that not only is her ridiculous escapades the lead story on every tabloid site on the web, but there are at least 9 more articles concerning her or her family on what seems every front page of your so called news organizations.
In 2008 I watched her rallies, and listened and watched as she did nothing to quell the violent and inciteful comments from the crowds. All her interviews were cringe-worthy. She should not have been there, it was a joke!
2009 and the media won’t let it go. With all the hard news and super important issues the US is dealing with, this makes most people sick. Why aren’t people out in the street protesting and rallying for Health Care, Health Insurance reform, credit card crap and getting your (and Our) soldiers home?
So I watched some of the latest interviews, thinking that perhaps she’s developed or morphed into someone newsworthy. Nope. More word-salad. Same-old stuff, different year.
Seems that America’s priorities are upside down at the moment and I just don’t understand how anyone could possibly consider her to run for political office, of any kind. When Canucks get sick – and I don’t mean a broken toe or to get a flu shot – I mean REALLY sick, where are you going to go to get timely effective healthcare? There are too many cases of Canadians seeking treatment in the US that saves their lives to draw an otherwise conclusion: your socialist healthcare system is not effective.

Palin embodies everything my parents despised: a prim and glib self-satisfaction, smug class certainties, twee escapism and nannyish adventure, all wrapped in a lazy, repetitive and meagre language. I picked up my first Palin book with a flutter of fear. What if I actually liked it? It was a huge relief when I realised, even at the age of 10, that Sarah Palin was just as embarrassing and trite as I’d hoped she’d be.

David Frum is ridiculous on the thin skin comment. Sarah Palin has shown class and shrugged off the ugly accusations about her and almost everyone else associated with her family. It is incredible that Frum brings up some sexual attraction factor making it something Palin can control in men. I like Palin for her political and social opinions and yes, as well as the fact that she is very pretty. If I am correct, I believe I have heard Frum is gay, anyway so what is it to him?
