Thats too funny.

cecil91   August 1st, 2010 - 1:52 pm

Getting pulled over for speeding is news? This is filler material on steroids.

UrinalMint   August 1st, 2010 - 1:54 pm

Does not matter if you are red or blue
Personal responsibility is long overdue
Telephone interview on the phone while driving?
To think this a good idea, you have to be jiving
Another fine example of do asI say, not as I do.

OffDuty   August 1st, 2010 - 2:03 pm

A "warning", eh? Since when do DC cops ever give warnings? Oh….that's right. When one is ABOVE the laws.

yourjewishnews   August 1st, 2010 - 2:11 pm

Florida church to hold Quran burning ceremony on 9/11 everyone can join see it at http://www.yourjewishnews.com/18.aspx

AlmostDailey   August 1st, 2010 - 2:13 pm

Stop flaming Yourjewishnews… we got it already ok? geeeze. :) Cheers

AlmostDailey   August 1st, 2010 - 2:14 pm

Oh no.. a REpublican.. is he a RINO? He's actually one of us. AND I'd like to go 140MPH to November, If I could. :)

AlmostDailey   August 1st, 2010 - 2:15 pm

Well Cecil…. Breitbart has to be 'balanced' lest the MSM will go Bonkers ! LOL

AlmostDailey   August 1st, 2010 - 7:16 am

It is kinda'… unless it's you or I who would have to pay the Ticket (of course this one, just a warning – wish I'd get more of those too)…. LMAO :) Cheers

AlmostDailey   August 1st, 2010 - 2:17 pm

LIFE is BEAUTIFUL

dwroberts   August 1st, 2010 - 2:25 pm

Lungren is one of the few good guys in Washington, a genuine conservative.. So he got pulled over for speeding and then got off with a warning. Big deal. Dems like Rangel have been thumbing their noses at the laws of the land for years and the media enables and ignores them. Let one Republican get a ticket for SPEEDING, for heaven's sake, and it's on the front page everywhere. What utter nonsense.

dennisl59   August 1st, 2010 - 7:29 am

Would an Ordinary American gotten a "Warning Ticket"? The answer is NO. Therefore, the priviledged ruling class of the Politboro again gets a pass for law breaking. Vomit.

jbh50   August 1st, 2010 - 2:40 pm

if he was on the 405, he'd get a ticket for talking on his c-phone while driving.

Missy8s   August 1st, 2010 - 2:40 pm

Yawn….

Another CNN non-story….

I've been pulled over three times in the last ten years for minor mistakes and have gotten similar warnings, no big deal…

puck30   August 1st, 2010 - 3:31 pm

All depends on how you handle it and who the cop is.

Tpdftw1   August 1st, 2010 - 3:47 pm

Yeah I read about this yesterday at this website http://tiny.cc/kft31 . Looks like breitbart is late to the game

MishaTisch   August 1st, 2010 - 3:56 pm

Looks like the police are busy collecting revenue everywhere. Every driver is a potential $300 plus violation fee to support these very high police salaries.

Bill_Smith   August 1st, 2010 - 4:12 pm

Urinal:
I agree. Imagine if he'd had an accident with injuries?!

Congressman, USE YOUR HEAD!
We do NOT need you screwing up, and providing a delicious distraction for the Dems!!

An interview about International Megan's Law was NOT WORTH IT!!

BHO_UMM_UMM_UMM   August 1st, 2010 - 4:17 pm

Cleavage will do that.

jsazsmitty   August 1st, 2010 - 4:23 pm

multi-tasking was once counted as a virture. But hey, seriously we all need to focus on the task at hand. Driving demands all ones attention. Even driving a Prius you are propelling a TON of mass down the roadway. Even brief inattention causes myriad accidents daily. Those who fail to regulate their own behavior will eventually have it regulated for them. I can see technology in the future being a deivice that will not allow phone or texting while driving for those who have had accidents cause by the use of those devices.

Missy8s   August 1st, 2010 - 9:34 am

Speaking English, knowing the law and comprehending it doesn't hurt too much either… ;-)

amanuensis   August 1st, 2010 - 4:36 pm

"They don't stop you from driving "slightly" over the speed limit" says the CNN moron. How does he know? He reads teleprompters and scripts. He probably does not even drive.
And watch the body language of the CNN butch. It's obviously she's having an orgasm.

Spanky2   August 1st, 2010 - 4:48 pm

It appears that your primary for posting reason here is to promote a site with which you have some ties and to which direct linking is banned by Breitbart: The Partisan Dialogues.

Emily514   August 1st, 2010 - 5:07 pm

Yes, you do get a speeding ticket for going "slightly" over the speed limit, Mr. Snarky anchorman…if this had been a democrat, you would have thought it was all cute and sweet.

Baloshka   August 1st, 2010 - 5:19 pm

You will respect my authoritye. Whap, whap, whap.

Thale_Taxurfeet   August 1st, 2010 - 5:50 pm

Howdy OffDuty,

Actually, it's laid out in Article 1 Section 6 of our U.S. Constitution –> http://www.usconstitution.net/xconst_A1Sec6.html

"They shall in all Cases, except Treason, Felony and Breach of the Peace, be privileged from Arrest during their Attendance at the Session of their respective Houses, and in going to and returning from the same; and for any Speech or Debate in either House, they shall not be questioned in any other Place."

So, yeah… They are above most laws. Another reason to vote them out on a regular basis, before they begin to believe that they are royalty.

TheUltraworld   August 1st, 2010 - 6:12 pm

And this is news why?

BHO_UMM_UMM_UMM   August 1st, 2010 - 6:13 pm

I suppose, but cleavage is still at the top of the list. My wife has gotten warnings I don't know how many times while I get tickets and we both speak english and know and comprehend the laws as best one can when there are millions of pages of them.

Fairness — it's supposed to prove that Republicans are as bad as Rangel, Waters and Co.

blame_canada929   August 1st, 2010 - 8:50 pm

This really isnt newsworthy—However I AM a proponent of cell-phone laws and the congressman should know better.

zebo   August 1st, 2010 - 2:29 pm

Here in Syracuse, that's a $25 fine with $110 in 'surcharges'. I know. I had to pay it! Feckers! LOL

Mine was for 'operating a mobile phone while driving'.

zebo   August 1st, 2010 - 9:30 pm

I don't know what his political views are but November can't get here fast enough.

zebo   August 1st, 2010 - 9:32 pm

He shouldn't have gotten off with a warning. He should have been given a ticket.

retired2007   August 1st, 2010 - 9:48 pm

Congressman have immunity from minor violations while going to and from sessions of Congress. Speeding would certainly fall into that category.

OffDuty   August 1st, 2010 - 11:45 pm

I didn't know that. Thanks for the instruction.

cook,
and it would help if she had a hole on top of her head,
so I have a place to park my beer during the fights.

cassidydog   August 2nd, 2010 - 12:52 am

Talking on the phone while driving AND speeding?
Just a warning?
WTF?
Oh…he's a democrat?
Nevermind.

dwroberts   August 2nd, 2010 - 2:35 am

Those of you criticizing Dan Lungren don't know him. He's our district representative in Calaveras County and he's a terrific, conservative Republican congressman, as well as a kind, decent human being who listens to his constituents. He probably should have insisted that the trooper give him a ticket in order to avoid all the criticism lumping him with all the bums in Congress. Notice he was driving himself, not riding in a limo or having some flunky drive him everywhere.

He is NOT your typical Washington royalist. It saddens me to see one of the really good lawmakers be the brunt of undeserved venom. How convenient that a conservative gets on the front page for getting a pass on a traffic ticket while crooks like Rangel and Maxine Waters receive the full cover-up treatment from the media.

PhoneBill   August 2nd, 2010 - 11:46 am

Not a big deal to be driving and talking on the phone. No different than speaking with someone in the car, assuming a handsfree device us used. A distracted driver is the same no matter the method of distraction, e.g. eating, shaving, finding a station, looking for a CD, writing notes, etc.

Don't get me wrong, if a driver is distracted then they shouldn't be driving BUT using a phone does not necessarily mean that they are distracted. Stop the phone hate.
