CNN’s Sanchez: ‘Should Not Have Reported’ Unconfirmed Limbaugh Quote

"Earlier this week we provided quotes attributed to Limbaugh to illustrate why some people and players felt that Rush Limbaugh was too divisive to be an NFL owner. One of these quotes, which was in a column in the St. Louis Post Dispatch and in a book largely about conservatives, was refuted by Limbaugh. We have been unable to independently confirm that quote. We should not have reported it and for that, I apologize. I feel it is important to hold folks accountable when they make mistakes, and that should include myself and my team."

He still didn’t say it was a Lie that they passed along as news. Sue em Rush, It’s the only way to get these lies covered in the news and make them stop lying about others also. They’ve gotten away with this for far too long.

Turd Turner’s return to CNN= a Dirty Sanchez. There… there ya go. ;o)

FOOTBALL! The Obama team really stepped in it this time. I say this because FOOTBALL is one topic that makes the rounds in the USA. It’s not just ‘during games,’either. It’s the whole nine yards. And, Rush now owns the story. He can keep hitting this one out of the ballpark, over and over, again. It’s not for nothing that there’s a GOLD microphone in front of his face.

As to Checketts, it is now known he plays with George Soros. Soros, on the other hand has much more money than Checketts. And, if Checketts got suddenly smart, he’d lawyer up.

Think of it this way. He tries to set Rush up on the golf course; where Rush just went to practice his golf swing. Perhaps, he thought he could execute the deal over a hole? But Rush INVITED HIM TO DISCUSS IT, over lunch. At Rush’s home. Yeah. Goldman Sachs is ‘fronting the deal.’ Which puts the eyes of the SECURITY AND EXCHANGE COMMISSION on what did they think? A PRIVATE DEAL? HELLO. Not since 1929 has “private deals” worked out all that well when you’re a dealer/broker in securities. You bet there are more laws under this rock than you’d even find slumbering in libel and slander laws involving public figures.

Guaranteed: Rush’s audience has geared up and increased in size. So, you’ve got Rush, the pro. Against the perps in the White House who dreamed up a quick HIT & RUN. This was supposed to leave Rush dead in the road. And, the conservatives blamed. Not the first time the White House rhetoric has been found wanting.

JJ   October 16th, 2009 - 5:58 pm

Do you think the lawyers told him to get his A$$ up there and apologize asap?!?!? Ha..I hope they get sued anyway. If Rush can prove financial or reputation damage he is all set.. And they know it..

Can you see how happy he is to have to apologize. You know it was not of his own accord..

pepito cojones   October 16th, 2009 - 5:58 pm

Yeah, where the hell is Larse, WTF, WHATWHATWHAT, Rush is a big fat Liar, and the rest of the the hate mongering losers?

Rick Sanchez is apologizing, well boo-hoo. Too little too late!

faceman   October 16th, 2009 - 6:01 pm

Joe Wilson said he was sorry, they punished him anyway. Lets punish them despite the apology. Boycott CNN

Early Cuyler   October 16th, 2009 - 6:02 pm

Sanchez also should not have driven drunk, ran someone over, and fled the scene. The guy that Sanchez ran over was paralyzed for years before finally dying. And Sanchez did not serve any time because he plead guilty to driving under the influence. At least Rush has never killed anyone and used his connections to get himself off the hook. How does Rick “DUI, Hit and Run, Murderer” Sanchez look himself in the mirror each day? I would feel immense guilt for ending someone’s life, but then again, I’m not an animal like this man.

IceCream Rover   October 16th, 2009 - 6:04 pm

I am glad to see rightetnous and truth prevail over haters like Rush. His many remarks regarding people of color
cannot be tolerated in our Progresive society. One does not have to look very hard to see Rush does not like
Progresives and people of color except for when they can make him more money. He made fun of Mcnabb of not being a
a good black quarterback and saying the press writers liked him because he was a man of color. Then there was
the remark about people of color having bigger legs. Who can not forget the song he wrote about Obama being a
magician becasue he was negro, yes the list goes on and on. Thank you rush it is haters like you that help us
the 60 million Progresive intelects like me in this county elect people of vision like Obama as our leaders.

SUE THEM   October 16th, 2009 - 6:12 pm

Too little, too late. Go get ‘em, RUSH!

Jack Ryder   October 16th, 2009 - 6:19 pm

Dick Sanchez is a drunk driver that hit-and-run a man, paralyzed him and then the man died of the injuries. Dick Sanchez should APOLGIZE FOR THAT !!!! He should also do a human interest story on the havoc and misery caused by drunk drivers that maim and kill innocents !!!!

I am so glad to see Fox picking up on views who are dumping these stations. Everyone keeps beating down this guy and here gee wiz we can’t confirm information we report. I for one hope that RL decides to reclaim his name again. You have other owners of teams who could care less about what they say yet they are not held accountable. I say yippie everytime FNC ratings go up. It’s the only station that will hold the left and this administration accountable along with Breitbart…

WOW, Dirty Sanchez was dreading that whole thing. It was obviously painful to have to own up to the obvious mistake, I guess threatening their pockets knocked some since into their reporting.

Go get’em Rush!

sam montana   October 16th, 2009 - 6:41 pm

Too little, too late CNN. For some time now, I have been aware that you ignore the fact that the current administration and Congress readily break promises, protect criminal behavior by many of their members, and cleverly slander and infer racism toward those whose political views differ.

You were quick to point out lies and inconsistencies in the previous administration and were right to do so. Now, your silence regarding the den of thieves and extremists that populate this administration and the Congressional majority shows your true colors.

Perhaps you should consider the FOX News playbook. Fox exposes corruption and lies in both parties on a regular basis. Many of your viewers would be amazed at the news that they are not getting regarding our government while you waste their time reporting lies that serve your partisan purposes.

Regarding Rush Limbaugh, consider this: Rush has been on the radio for 15 hours a week for over a decade and Sanchez and crew have to make up quotes to make him appear racist. This tells any objective viewer all you need to know about this.

sueinva   October 16th, 2009 - 6:46 pm

I believe Rush should still sue. I am tired of watching them get away with it. They knew it was a lie in the first place and the damage is getting the word out there. They knew it would still cause damage . Even if they had to fake, grovel an apologize the dan=mage is done
Sue the heck out of them.

Derrylane   October 16th, 2009 - 6:56 pm

That’s why Fox news ratings are so high.

David C.   October 16th, 2009 - 7:05 pm

Too little too late. They waited until after he was dropped to offer this pathetic excuse of an apology. Sue them, Rush. Go get ‘em, and make them all pay.

Jonathan S   October 16th, 2009 - 7:08 pm

AGAIN ANOTHER BIT OF PROOF THAT “TRUE” JOURNALISUM IS GONE SHAME ON YOU SANCHEZ YOU NO SPINE HAVING COWARD CAN’T EVEN TAKE RESPONCIBILITY FOR YOUR SKREW UP.

TheAudacityofGovernment   October 16th, 2009 - 7:12 pm

It doesn’t matter now does it? You already, once again, damaged someone’s reputation without checking facts first? Even more problematic, you and others, may have impacted the ability of an individual to pursue their livelihood based on mistruths. Wait…before anyone screams that Limbaugh’s livelihood is fine, it doesn’t matter how much money you think Limbaugh should make, or how much money anyone else should make for that matter. It’s none of your business.

I hope that if there is a legal standing here, Limbaugh pursues the responsible parties. Not only for himself, but for the rest of us. Enough is enough! People never grow up: They just can’t wait to pass around “gossip in the schoolyard”, especially about those they personally do not like.

red carolina   October 16th, 2009 - 7:18 pm

too late – I would call it “inciting” anger in the black community — it’s not a good time to throw fuel on the racial fire — he should be fired.

Brian   October 16th, 2009 - 7:24 pm

Nice of them to apologize after the damage is done….you would think a real journalist would fact check something as important as a racial slur made by a prominent public figure before going public with it…But it is after all just a lowly conservative…Rush Limbaugh…pisha pisha…I can see the Manahattan Cocktail bubble Friday night…”OOPSIE WHOOPSIE”

Rush needs to sue the shirt off of every organizations that purports to be a real journalistic news organization that ran with that quote. It’s called defamation of character motherf&*(ers and now Rush has got you in his cross hairs.

Liberals have been chanting the word racism for the past month ever since Jimmy Carter broke the race baiting cease fire with his brilliant deduction that opposition to healthcare reform boils down to racial bigotry. They are out of ideas and must resort to name calling and race baiting like a bully on a playground who has met his physical match….”Well your mom is ugly and your fat.” It stems from the same type of mentality.

I have faith that Americans still hold onto common sense and have character and don’t buy this rancid snakeoil that Democrats are selling to them….Go get em Rush!

Whatever   October 16th, 2009 - 7:32 pm

Maybe the “quote” came from the White House. Several months ago they were whinning about Rush, I think it was Axelrod who put a story about Rush Limbaugh.

The White House drama queens are starting to look very adolescent.

txmike   October 16th, 2009 - 7:35 pm

Huffpoop retracted their lies yesterday. Scaryanna Huffington got cold feet doing obama’s dirty work when she realized that she gooned up big time and put herself in a position where she might loose her empire of slime. CNN realized the same while also doing otard’s dirty work but since CNN is not as mentally sharp as the average brain it took them an extra day to say they were sorry.

I say the only way to fis this is to have CNN, HUFFPOOP, SHERPTON and JACKSON go out of their way to get the NFL to reconsider.

pepito cojones   October 16th, 2009 - 7:55 pm

Hey ice cream dude, what planet are you from you doofus. don’t you even realize that the MSM has admitted that Rush DID NOT say those thing, you imbecile!

Rick Sanchez is from Miami and he was considered the absolute worse tv-anchor ever in Miami air waves! He was the laughing stock of MIami…

KarenJ   October 16th, 2009 - 8:03 pm

Gandhi's Fist   October 16th, 2009 - 9:09 pm

An Apology? To Rush Limbaugh? From CNN? Do you folks know just how royally they are screwed to be voluntarily issuing an apology? They’re not out of this yet. Rush can sue them–even with this admission–for all the losses. potential and otherwise, incurred by Rush as it relates to profits and sale from the Rams by the fictitious slander they “reported”

Not chickenfeed and they know it. The number could be huge. I’m certain attorneys are lining up to take a crack at this. They would likely even do this based on contingency fee as the outcome would be fairly certain. Go for it Rush–time for some legal payback from the all-Obama-all-the-time network.

Your days of lying are numbered! Your days of decieving the country are NUMBERED! If their scared of what Rush could do to the in court just imagine what Fox News and the entire population of sane level-headed people out there that watch them and post here could and hopefully WILL DO to your filthy MSM heros if you keep crossing the line!!

Frank OhNo   October 16th, 2009 - 10:09 pm

Sanchez is as good at apologies as he is drinking drunk after Miami Dolphins games. Whoops! Leave them all crippled Rick.

Does anyone else find it ironic that the same week Anita (with a severe tongue problem)Dunn from the White House claims FOX tells lies, CNN, and MSNBC have to claim they told lies. The Great El Rushbo does it again! Thanks Rush, you have made them to look like the fools they are. Nice to see them HAVE to admit to it though! I would still sue them with the money you would have used to purchase the NFL team.

shane2813   October 16th, 2009 - 11:42 pm

Why does CNN allow someone on the air that killed a man while he was drunk? How low do they have to go? Rick Sanchez is a killer. MARXIST=DEMOCRATS=TERRORIST All the same ask the killer Rick Sanchez.

Ritty77   October 16th, 2009 - 11:50 pm

When Sanchez parroted the false quote, it was already widely discussed that it was untrue, and he knew it, yet he proceeded to exploit the lie. That is libel: (LAW defamation: a false and malicious published statement that damages somebody’s reputation.)

This a perfect example of what Rush calls the “drive by media.” They hit and run, destroy lives and opportunities, then play innocent or offer weak mea culpas, all the while searching for the next targets.

Keith Olberwoman   October 17th, 2009 - 3:08 am

Hey, at least Sanchez apologized. Most other media outlets wouldn’t, they would just push the lie like Maddow and Olberman, who should be shot by the way, (not by we Americans, but it would be funnier if they were to move to Venezuela and get shot by Chavez, which would happen if that Dyke and self hater Olberman said 1/20th of what they say in America……, but I digress). While CNN is pretty liberal, I appreciate the effort (at least) to TRY to be centrist.

SUE those bastards and make an example out of em for the rest of the MSM. How about all the other misinformation and propaganda that CNN reports that is untrue? Are you going to apologize to all Americans for CNN’s inability to report the facts? How about apologizing to our grandchildren for the mess CNN’s incompetency is going to cost them both financially and in their never knowing what freedom is? Just do the job that you are so priviledged to have! The job you have been entrusted to do, that many have died for. Wake up CNN before it’s too late!

When you are in uncomfortable position and have no cash to get out from that point, you would need to receive the loans. Because that would aid you definitely. I get secured loan every year and feel myself OK just because of this.
