Dog meat is actually quite tasty. But I bet the reporter is perfectly ok with ABORTION. Rethink your stance on human life, then go after people who eat dogs. Dogs in China are raised to be meat, just like chickens and pigs everywhere else in this world. People don’t go to some park and steal your dog and then cook it for locals in their restaurant… good grief. I asked my students all the time, DO YOU LIKE TO EAT SNOOPY? They all resoundingly answered… “NO!”

I knew that they did this but seeing it on a scale of this gets to me, just look into their eyes.

I think your’e barking up the wrong tree! My friend(a fellow American) had dog as a main course at his bithday party. People are more concerned about animal rights in china than human rights. Besides,its their society NOT OURS. All this caterwauling from a bunch of nosey people. If it were legal in the U.S. you wouldn’t see so many stray cats. I thought my son was kidding when the cat population suddenly shrank after a certain ethnic group moved into his girlfriends community—-Yum YUUUUUUUM !

Ask any ethnic minority group in SE Asia, or central Asia. Ask anyone who lives in the Phillipines, Singapore, Thailand, any of the Southeast Asian states, any country of Asian association. They will tell you who they fear most, and it is not the United States.

The Chinese History is rife with constant internal bloodshed, and conquering wars waged on “lesser” peoples viewed as inferior to the “Han” Chinese ethnic group.

Do not be fooled, China is biding it’s time, they hate us : not just for our idealogy, but for the very color of our skins and the slant of our eyes.

Dog and cat as food is common in China, why suddenly the issues with it ? Westerners tend to anthropomorphize animals of all types, leading us deem any use of animals, other than using them as house pets, as cruel and/or unusual.
Women are particularly apt to place human characteristics onto animals, “just look into their eyes”, it is irrational. Dog and cat protein is inexpensive and available, projecting ‘human rights’, onto them and making it illegal, will cause undo hardship upon the social-ecomomic class that eats it. Still many, many poor Chinese, the people with the new motor bikes and cell phones are the minority. And to have a pet is a luxury.

What they don’t show you is how the dogs in China are prepared before butchering.
They’re stabbed, clubbed, beaten, hung by their front paws tied behind their backs and this goes for hours to induce adrenalin which they believe enhances the taste of the meat. The dogs scream in agony alone, bleeding, suffering a horrible terrifying death.

This is beyond disgusting.

We should treat dogs like humans: abort them in the womb, and those that make it we should tax the hell out of them to support other dogs that don’t work.

I agree. If we are to give animals more rights, one of them should include the right, NO, the obligation to pay taxes.

A few years back, I ran into some stuffed cats and dogs being sold as toy animals at a local bedding store, all Made in China, of course. They looked so real, because they were in fact, real stuffed animals. I informed the store owner and they stopped selling them.

I also wrote to my federal representatives as well.

They need to ban the import of stuffed dogs and cats being sold as toys.

Goat is a widely raised and consumed animal as well. One of the most widely consumed I think. And when raised around the house, have nice, dog-like characteristics.
Does the entire world need to eat hormone raised beef and chicken, packaged and sold on styrofoam and wrapped in plastic ?
Perhaps there is another motive behind this effort to ban these neighborhood shops. Maybe (Big Agra) in China wants to be the sole provider on protein.
This ‘animal rights’ push may be a big business ploy.

I think dog meat and cat meat should be BANNED, simple as that, because both dogs and
cats are “domestic” animals in which we as human-beings can keep as a pet(s), now as for
livestock animals, those animals are for slaughter, and yes we the human race do eat
livestock (I eat them myself). But ranchers kill livestock animals real quick, they
don’t torture them or beat them up, only the liars from PETA claim that BS, & speaking of
PETA, where the hell are they when it comes to China on them killing dogs & cats for
food? The silence from PETA on this issue is deafing, PETA is like those silent films
from the 1920s, they have NOTHING to say about this issue, but when it comes to
restaurants like KFC, McDonalds, Burger King, White Castle, Jack in the Box, etc., they
have big ass mouths for them, but they say nothing about China eating domestic animals!

PETA, Human rights watch, Sierra Club, ACLU, SEIU, Code Pink, NAACP — ought to go to places where there are real problems with animal rights, pollution, free speech, racism, genocidal violence, worker rights, civil rights, gay rights, womens rights, and human rights like: China, India, Sudan, Iran, Afghanistan, Russia,and Venezuela.

Eating cats and dogs? Just depends on how you cook’em.

Jeremy your right, some folks do keep pigs as a pet, but primarly pigs are livestock
animals, and folks do eat pigs (I eat them on a rarely basis, I don’t eat alot of pork
because it can mess up your own arteries). But cats and dogs are NOT livestock animals,
they are domestic animals!

I don’t mind talking about this, to me this topic is more fun and interesting instead
of boring myself to death on talking about boring politics!

I became aware of what the Chinese do to the dogs by watching an undercover Peta video several years ago. It makes you want to cry. They (for their fur trade) SKIN THE DOGS ALIVE. The look on one dogs face and eyes as he was being skinned alive was horrifying. This made me a lifetime member of Peta. I wish there was more I could do, like sending a SEAL Team over there to clean up this industry. BOYCOTT CHINA PRODUCTS ESPECIALLY FUR.

Where I live PETA was going to protest the milk ranchers they claim that they were hurting the cows when milking them , dont you think thats odd since when u see a cow on a milk machine they are standing there eatting looks like alot of pain to me lol,they(PETA) were going to dump a hundred gallons of milk now thats real smart people starving and they are throwing it away. I think they wont be happy till everyone just turns into veggy eatters but what then will they say you are hurting plants then just to get the attention.China and those other countries would boot their butts out of their countries!!

I love my dogs…spend good money on getting their shots, consider them part of the family but hey, it’s what they eat there. it’s a different culture. How do we know they’re not delicious?

The only argument I hear people making is this: Only ugly animals should be eaten.

I do not agree with eating cats and dogs, but for China to cave to “animal rights” groups and ban a main source of meat/food for their already food challenged masses this is ridiculous.

Perhaps the “animal rights” groups won’t have a problem if the hungry Chinese turn to eating their unwanted female babies.

These people are primitave animals themselves. They dispence the cats by dunking them ALIVE in boiling water and quickly pealing off their fur coat while the animal still squirms in shock and pain, and they are butchered alive from there. Only thing worse is partial birth abortions where the baby is partially delivered and then murdered by having its brains sucked out. Our fine President has no problem with this, and even if a baby somehow survives a botched abortion and is delivered ALIVE, he belives that infant should not be given medical attention but be left to die and be disposed of.
