Okay, so they’re complaining about no medical supplies going out. Yet the CNN Doctor was able to drive up to the hospital, go in, grab medicine, antibiotics, and take it right back to the hospital with little trouble. So why aren’t he and Anderson driving a truck around Haiti distributing supplies? Oh because having a camera, recording, and blaming others is much more responsible.
Hey Anderson, how about you get in a damned van, go fill it up with medical supplies, and go help some people, and guess what, you don’t even have to bring a camera man to do that.

And, did I hear mention in there about people needing certain forms to get supplies?
We need a kick-ass military officer to start bangin’ heads together, and commandeering trucks, cars, bicycles, or just people who can freakin’ WALK with an armed escort to get this stuff MOVING. Squads of Marines could just hump this stuff to where it’s needed!
Come ON, people! We’re the USA! Our middle name is Gitter DONE! The very first busload out of New Orleans was driven by a kid who just commandeered a school bus, and drove around picking up people! And when he got to the receiving center before ANY of the official buses they hassled him for his paper work!

If any of you folks had ever spent more than one day in Haiti (outside the Hotel Montana or one of the other hotels for visitors) you would realize that this place was a disaster long before the earthquake. The “police” are actually roving gangs of criminals. All the money in the country is held and controlled by 0.1% of the population. Doctors without borders (Médecins Sans Frontières) spends $15,000-25,000 per month in “protection money” to the gangs and government officials. Christian Missionaries are regularly shook down for cash and valuables. Drug and alcohol abuse goes unabated as does rape and murder. The mortality rate is appalling. It is estimated that about 5.6 per cent of people aged 15-49 years old in Haiti are living with HIV/AIDS. This includes about 19,000 children. 65% of children are born out of wedlock. And that is just the tip of the iceberg. Many of the conrete block buildings were constructed with mud between the blocks instead of mortar and with NO reinforcing steel. Face it folks, we can feed these people, take care of their needs during this disaster but we need to draw a line were this will all stop. The USA cannot fix what is really wrong in Haiti.

I know this is going to come as a shock but a LOT of the people waiting outside are not innocent people looking for help. Many are just people who will try to sell it.
What exactly do they think would happen they just started handing out medicine to people and telling them to just give it to people who need it?
It may be unbearably slow, and filming people dying may be AWESOME for ratings, but doing things in an orderly, safe way – especially in Haiti – is the right way in the over all big picture.
