That probably is there crack force, but a weakness in Asia and much of europe is their reliance on officer commands and non-thinking troops. Just like the Japanese in WWII, when the officer went down the sheep couldnt function. When US officers went down, the NCOs rallied the troops and climbed the cliffs at Normandy. Its still like this…it will ever be their weakness.

Who in their right mind would want to invade China? They are like Russia, too big to invade, conquer half the country and the other half will still defeat you. And who is China going to attack. Russia – suicide. India – across the Mountains? Taiwan, Japan – can they walk on water? China’s Army exists to give their young males something to do – It’s a giant public works project.

What I saw was a professional military. Yes, staging happened. What you didn’t see or perhaps notice, the enthusiasim or gung ho attitude. They are very proud. They should be. Years ago, China invaded Northern Vietnam and very effectively. China sent in a good military force and Vietnam stopped thier nonsence.

China has very much adopted a defensive only stance over the years. Boots on the ground usually means Americans and Brits along with some NATO units.

This Chinese unit’s capability was rather exemplary. It was a show in as much the Chinese army has come up from them selves. Interesting. Relay.

It was a very nice display of force.

They do thier country proud. Any country who were displaying thier armed forces would pick the best to represent them, who do you think they were going to pick?

The days of Armies charging the battel field are mostly gone. The next wars are being fought by remote control. When you can have 7 thousand RPV’s circling overhead and a small contingency force to direct fire. RPV’s have a loiter time of 7 to 12 hours.
Know how to do it? Get rid of the 50+ airplanes on a conventional aircraft carrier, replace the other 40+ planes with RPV’s. 5 RPV’s can replace 1 Aircraft in terms of storage space, Control them from the Nevada Desert.

If you were looking for a weakness you won’t discover it until a war is fought. They are as smart and as capable as any military force.

Don’t count the Japanese forces out. They have a very modern navy with weapons just as advanced as the U.S. The only thing that holds them back is a constituion. It took 20 years for them to kick Americas ass in building cars. See how easy that war was won? I bet you didn’t even notice.

Don’t waste your time worrying about who’s butt is going to get kicked in whatever war. Most people who are commenting here have never been in the military. I worry more about people who live in the U.S. who live off the fat of the land and burn the American Flag in an effort to pervert freedom of speech.

The only people that are worried are people who want to seem they are self important and live thier lives spreading Fear Uncertainty and Doubt. Cortes – you need to read a few books. I would start with Guns, Germs, and Steel by Jared Diamond. Read a little history. Since the dawn of man, the societies with the best weapons and military have taken over the countries without them. Never let your guard down. It is foolish to underestimate a large population of intelligent people. Have you had much interaction with members of this population? I have. Watch out.

No, I have never been in the military. I have family members in a mass grave in a country I would never go to. I know what people are capable of. I’m well aware that the world hasn’t changed. History has a way of repeating itself. We just like to think we are more civilized. I’m very thankful for the the peace we have had in this country. But I also don’t live with the delusion that it will go on forever. It never has.

The public schools are teaching the children fear with lock-down drills. They don’t tell the kids it is a drill. They want them to lock the classroom door, turn off the lights, and hide under the desk, as if that will save them from an armed gunman. If you have issues with the spreading of fear, start by complaining to the people that are running the US public schools. They are teaching the kids to be frightened, sitting ducks.

Hong Kong; South Korea, Japan,Taiwan,Singapore,Austria,Germany,Italy,The Netherlands, Sweden,Switzerland,Belgium, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Hungary, Poland and Spain.

States with the highest IQ lean strongly Democratic (New Hampshire, Massachusetts). States with the lowest IQ lean strongly Republican (Mississippi and South Carolina.)

The Chinese have a long way to go militarily. Their ability to project power is essentially non existent. Look at the earthquakes that happened in 2008. Their Soldiers marched to the effected towns. Marched. Not drove, not flew, but marched. They also employed hands and shovels in the rescue effort, no heavy machinery.

They don’t have ANY experience in any kind of fight (counter insurgency, conventional, unconventional). This leads me to believe that there will be a steep learning curve in the initial stages of a war. However, with inexperience comes the danger of under/over estimating their capabilities, which can increase the possibility of an unintentional fight.

Any fight with China would be decided by our Navy and our Air Force. Both of which are the best in the world, no one even comes close.
