hey duncan’t, not going away, going to keep hammering away, your boy may be saying he’s not tired and he’s just getting started, but he is political toast. Cheney is right, he is a private citizen and still has a right so far. Not going to shut up!

Wat to go Mr. Vice President. Keep up the pressure. Hopefully the man of peace that is loved throughout Europe will finally make a decision that actually helps Americans and American interests…..http://cooperscopy.blogspot.com/

Greg Klug   October 22nd, 2009 - 9:36 am

duncan,

I admire your being in Iraq for our country. On the other hand, unlike you, I don’t blame Bush or Cheney for you having to be there. When the United States tries to be anything but it’s best is when countries like Iraq will take aggressive advantage of our complacency. The world doesn’t operate on a premise of “good intentions rule”. We as Americans have the moral authority and duty to keep tyrants in check – as long as we do not squander or falter the effort. Despite what you may hear, we are the world’s leader and it’s time we begin acting like it again. Unfortunately, our current president is in this to destroy that concept once and for all….he no longer holds the confidence of his own country, much less that of the rest of the world.

The clock ticks for the times to change…

“You polititians havent gotten it right since 1945. Let the military do its job and DONT micromanage them.”

They haven’t ever gotten it right – I can’t think of one defensive war the US has fought. So much for the Orwellian named “Defense” department. Every war we have fought has been based on outrageous lies. The only valid one has been the War of Northern Aggression and the Republic lost that one. Since then the American people have been enemy combatants with no rights.

Off Duty   October 22nd, 2009 - 10:16 am

Eloquent, gracious and to-the-point, Cheney continues to remind this administration that the dimocrats have become nothing but a party of miscreants, imbeciles and traitors.

It’s time to impeach obuffoona and all his handlers.

Airwick   October 22nd, 2009 - 10:54 am

Cheney is not only a horrible human being; he is a hypocrite as well. Duncan is right. What were you doing “dithering” in Iraq when the real battle should have been in Afghanistan? Did that picture of you schmoozing with Sadam embarrass you and you felt you had to take him out? Iraq was never a threat to us, imminent or otherwise and we wasted time, effort, resources, and (more importantly) the lives of thousands of our servicemen on that fool’s errand. We are still stuck there and the idea that we “won” is nonsense. The game in Iraq is still on and the end is not likely to be one that we want. If “I-love-war-but-I-don’t-want-to-fight-in-one-myself” Dickie and his cronies (including “W”) had kept their eye on the ball, the war in Afghanistan would be over (for us) and we wouldn’t be having this discussion. Care to comment on THAT, you Dick?

Dick is an old school Republican, i.e. a real republican, i.e. a true conservative with the ba11s to tell the truth to America.

Just my opinion, of course ~

Usurper Barry Soetoro aka/alias Barack Hussein Obama needs empowering.

CANCEL ALL WHITE HOUSE GIGS – enjoyed at tax-payers’ expense – IMMEDIATELY.

Take off the dress suit, tie, and shiny shoes he wears. Assign a Camouflage uniform, helmet, and boots, to him, and send this “dithering” Commander-in-Chief into HELL – The CRUCIBLE of THE HEAT of BATTLE – in AFGHANISTAN. Let him taste the frontlines by our AMERICAN TROOPS.

Perhaps AMERICA’S withering ICHABOD will then be empowered to no longer waiver, to make a MULTITUDE of CRITICAL DECISIONS… in the BEST INTEREST OF AMERICA – QUICKLY.

MR. MINETA: No, I was not. I was made aware of it during the time that the airplane coming into the Pentagon. There was a young man who had come in and said to the vice president, “The plane is 50 miles out. The plane is 30 miles out.” And when it got down to, “The plane is 10 miles out,” the young man also said to the vice president, “Do the orders still stand?” And the vice president turned and whipped his neck around and said, “Of course the orders still stand. Have you heard anything to the contrary?”

T West   October 22nd, 2009 - 11:58 am

Dick Cheney is a self-serving idiot. He don’t want to talk about the lies he told to get the US into Iraq when all of the effort should have been in Afghanistan against al Qaida. It was an opportunity lost. The troops in Afghanistan knows that they are in a “no win” situation where the population has turned against them, in general.

Also, what about an element within the British army transporting Taliban from southern region of Afghanistan to the northern region? Cheney has the nerves to talk about “our allies”. Apparently, the “allies” are doing quite well with the US carrying almost all of the burden financially and in loss of life and resources in Afghanistan.

Cheney and Republicans only have the FEAR CARD, nothing else.

On the issue of Israel and its meddling and instigating wars that America involves itself, at least the Obama Administration is going after their spies in the US and those who traffic in money laundering and the dirt business of illegal human organs.

President Obama must remove US forces from Afghanistan. The troops want it and the American people want it.

I thought you would find this new site interesting it’s called http://www.Dearpolitician.org. I was referred to it from Facebook and was shocked and amazed at what they do.

It’s a website that is FREE, non-partisan, and really user-friendly

They are basically promoting democracy. Americans create a free user account, when you log in and select Create Letter, they automatically provide your politicians for your district. You can choose to write your letter to the President, Vice President, Senators, Congressman, and even Senate and Congressional committees. After you select whom you want to write your letter too, you are presented a template that looks like a letter, you just write what you want to say and choose how you want to sign it. After you are done, you just select if you want to print and mail them yourself, or have Dearpolitician.org fax your letter to each of their offices immediately.

This site is a Godsend for American across the country. Especially since so many are having a difficult time making ends meet, the not having to pay for paper and stamps is great.

Rexter   October 22nd, 2009 - 12:03 pm

T West – al Qaida is a CIA creation.

Phil   October 22nd, 2009 - 12:04 pm

I just want to give major KUDOs to the makers of http://www.Dearpolitician.org. I was on foxnews yesterday and someone suggested going to them to write my politicians. Thanks to me losing my job, I now live on a really tight budget and not having to buy the paper and stamps to send the morons in government is great. I faxed 36 politicians yesterday for free. I like the fact that they get my letter the same day. Good Job Dearpolitician.org.

As a veteran who retired in 2007 after serving 21 years, i am apalled at how anyone can support or think that the democratic party supports the troops. They are extremely weak on national defense. Examples- Harry the war is lost reid, John Murtha accusing our troops of murder, Chuck schumer comparing our troops to nazi’s, John Kerry’s treasonous activities directly after Viet Nam and more recently his lack of support for guys on the ground during the surge in Iraq. Nancy Pelosi’s liberal district running out recruiters, not to mention her lies against our intelligence agencies. The democrats do not support the troops never have never will. Obama is a waffling POS and any deaths of our guys in Afghanistan now our a direct result of his inability to make a damn decision.

Mike   October 22nd, 2009 - 12:12 pm

Duncan, and other leftists. This is said with no animosity. The “you had your turn” philosphy seems to indicate that you think the world works in 4-year terms, as does the presidency. War for whatever reason–and history, not rhetoric, shows UN resolutions, no-fly zone violations, slow build-ups of the US military, the ouster of UN inspectors and Bush speaking before the UN–is messy, unpredictable, on no-one’s timetable and doesn’t have (in real life), terms like “exit strategy.” In fact, the “fog of war” is a far more accurate description.

Obama, sadly, is a puppet of his masters, which many of us saw going in: only vote “present,” never speak off the teleprompter, promise nothing concrete, only hope and change, and we’ll get you elected. Then run off to Detroit, Europe, wherever, while we have the opportunity to drag every left-wing idea we’ve had since college off the shelf and stuff it into the stimulus and health care bills. Don’t read it! Trust us…

Hey duncan…he’s waiting for you to hunt with him!!!

BO is doing nothing while our troops are getting killed with no support!!! BO needs to listen to his General-in-Command!!!

You’re correct….FDR gave General Eisenhower full reigns, & he did whatever it took to win the war!!! FDR listened to his general!!!

And Clinton….did he listen to his general…NO!! And you saw what happened in Somalia!!! Our troops bodies were dragged naked and dismembered through the streets of Mogadishu, and we did nothing about it. Those men died because Clinton refused to listen to his Generals in the first place. Within days of taken office, against advise from General William Garrison, he actually escalated our involvement and reduced troops at the same time.

WTF?!!!

Kenny C   October 22nd, 2009 - 12:58 pm

Dick……you’re wasting your breathe…….you know the Dems can’t win a war….they could give a ratzs azz about our troops needing help……remember Vietnam…….Kennedy started that war to take the heat off because of him screwing Marilyn……I still think joltin’ Joe had him done in…..and his brother

Jana   October 22nd, 2009 - 1:42 pm

Desert Thunder thank you for your sacrifice, and service to our country. Everything you said so concisely, and accurately – I totally agree with. It is worth re-reading several times. This is the mind-set of Obama, and Co. as regards to our military. What is happening to our troops in Afghanistan right now is deplorable. Either give them the additional troops they need, or pull them out immediately. He is afraid of alienating his left wing base, so he leaves our troops over there with no relief, or back up, to be picked off day after day. Unbelievable.

So I Say   October 22nd, 2009 - 1:53 pm

@duncan First of all thank you for the your service to this country.

You are right, don’t even bother with these neo cons.

If Cheney had his way we would be fighting wars on four fronts.Iraq,Iran,North Korea and Afghanistan.

Chaney needs to STFU and go some where and not be seen.

He applied for and recieved 5 student deferments (After dropping out of college to work, he return to college at age 22 to get his first deferment!
Three weeks and a day after the Gulf of Tonkin resolution passed (giving President Johnson unlimited military force in Vietnam), Cheney married Lynn Cheney.

I rather like Cheney claiming to be a father so as to get a hardship deferment (3-A) 10 weeks after Johnson says to start drafting marrieds without children – claiming that he has a child based on a wife who thinks she may be 10 weeks pregnant.
Now this damn Chicken Hawk has got the runs at the mouth-go figure.

Obama the a-hole   October 22nd, 2009 - 1:58 pm

More reasons why someone with zero experience cannot grow up to be a man.
Whoever is making the big-boy decisions for the Obama idiot, surely doesnt know what to do either. Maybe he should follow the Bill Clinton lead – take a poll and make a decision on what the poll munbers reveal. It wont matter….it seems more realistic that revolution is coming…. Better charge the battery in the “POD” make sure there is enough gas –oops, I mean carbon credits, to get you back to Kenya. Then have teleprompter book a meeting with the other commie progressives for a group hug.

Thank you! http://www.Dearpolitician.org is a great link and an awesome resource for all Americans to write their politicians for free. I just sent this link to all my Facebook friends.

racerx   October 22nd, 2009 - 2:12 pm

Come on, so far I haven’t seen a big difference between Bush and Obama. Are we really to believe that McCain could keep all of these wars straight in his own mind. He even struggled during the campaign.

Sure I’ve heard Obama make some real gaffes: 56 or 57 states? Regardless, it appears that overall Obama has a much better control of his faculties than Bush 43, McCain, and Reagan.

The problem is at this point the solution doesn’t exist inside the structure of the Democratic or Republican party. These parties were both bought and sold a long time ago. The only individuals that are any good in those parties at the quasi-national level are maybe Ron Paul, Schwarzenegger, maybe even Grayson. These mean don’t appear to need their positions in politics. Most of the rest are career politicians that are too concerned with feathering their own nests.

These wars are lies. They are not being fought for the benefit of freedom, terrorism, or the American people. If you don’t get that, there probably isn’t much hope for you.

Everything is done for global corporations. Our job, as far as the Democrats and Republican leaders are concerned, is to keep our mouths shut and pay the bills for these corporate imperial conquests that benefit only the corporations. Those in Congress are only really concerned that We The People will somehow get in the way of their big payday from these corporations.

There’s no winning or losing in Iraq or Afghanistan. Those are their countries. What exactly are we going to win? Their oil proceeds or their drug proceeds from opium production? How exactly is that going to benefit your life? It won’t. The corporations aren’t going to share the spoils of war with you or me.

Please don’t go over there over some false belief that you are making the world a better place. It’s highly unlikely. Our government is far too corrupt for that. You really want your child or friend to risk his or her life so that BP can pump a few more barrels through a pipeline?

Give me a break. There is nothing patriotic about stealing other people’s resources and killing their children. Don’t buy into this perversion. Most of these people elsewhere don’t hate us. They just want us to leave their countries. Of course if we kill their kids or their parents, sure they will hate us. Is that so hard to understand?

My life is not going to get better because Exxon gets another oil contract. There’s no winning in these countries. There’s only a hope of getting out of those countries sooner rather than later to save what’s left of this country right here. Of course the chances of that are looking less likely each and every day!

desertThunder   October 22nd, 2009 - 2:24 pm

One more thing about the weak left of this country. None of them show any shame or remorse for the millions of people killed in Viet Nam after we pulled out. Pulling out of Afghanistan now will certainly result in the deaths of thousands of people and let the Taliban and Al Queada establish a haven for their murderous and sinister plots. How anyone can support a democrat in this day and age is beyond belief to me. Shame on democrats for pulling the rug out from under our troops yet again. Obama is not good for National Defense and frankly is the laughing stock of the world.

Obama the a-hole   October 22nd, 2009 - 2:25 pm

@racerx

ok if that is your belief – then why doesn’t this dirtbag obama pull the troops out – I am sure he has your belief’s as well.

And by mentioning – “There is nothing patriotic about stealing other people’s resources” – do you mean taking from the producers in this country and giving it to the non-producers? Sounds familiar to me.

you’re another Progressive loser, blindsided by emotion and not to mention communism. Do you hate this country because you are lazy or want Obama to babysit you? Ask yourself something – without lying – I know its going to be hard for you………”what have I ever done for my country?”

I believe that our President should put the needs of his country first. God knows other countries do. He should look out for America, and Americans. He should be willing to make tough decisions and face the music, if it for the good of the American people. He should not be swayed, nor care what other world leaders think, if he is acting in the best interest of his country. I would prefer an “unpopular” President who puts our country first, to a “popular” one who appeases everyone at America’s expense. I don’t know what that makes me, but I believe it is better to be “respected” than “Liked” when all is said and done.

DesertThunder   October 22nd, 2009 - 2:31 pm

@ Jana
Thanks for your kind thoughts, I only retired after my sis who has MS asked me to come home and care for her. Had she not been ill I would probably still be in the service. I also find it apalling we have to pay through our noses for her medical care and ILLEGAL ALIENS get medical care for free in this country. I am disgusted with liberal entitlements and how they are destroying our nation again and again. Obama is an empty suit and has not accomplished one thing that is noteworthy. In fact his policies are terrible.

DesertThunder   October 22nd, 2009 - 2:49 pm

@ racerx,
I can assure you that we have made a difference in the world. I am sure the new freedoms just the women now enjoy in afghanistan are greatly appreciated. If we were serious about protecting these people we would send more troops in there and protect these people from these murderous fanatics, and that is all they are. They want anyone who doesn’t believe in their beliefs dead.
As for lies about war, guess that includes both parties for voting overwhelmingly to go into both theaters with the exception of the weak leftists who want to destroy this nation. Before we even went into Iraq for the second time after they invaded kuwait, Iraq was firing missles and violating the no fly zone established in the first iraq war.
I am just curious as to what you think will become of Afghanistan if we pull out. It will surely be a haven for all our enemies and yes they are our enemies. How dare you belittle the sacrifice of brave american meen and women who havegiven there all to establish peace annd run out the murderous fanatics.

desertThunder   October 22nd, 2009 - 2:52 pm

I totally agree, why should we care what other world leaders think. We should lead and not follow.

Obama is in a popularity contest all the while sacrificing our military dominance and our freedoms at every turn. What a thin skinned waffling piece of CR@%. Any death now in Afghanistan is squarely on his weak shoulders. The man is a novice and hasn’t ever done anything noteworthy in his entire life.

A lot of us have figured out that 9/11 didn’t happen exactly as the broadcasters at General Electric, Westinghouse and other multinationals have wanted us to believe. As a result, some of the legitimacy of those wars has been called into question. Iraq never really made sense.

Unfortunately, I think we do have to ask ourselves why our soldiers really had to die. Was is really about our freedom? and fighting terrorism? Or was this what we were told in order to sell us on our war that really couldn’t be justified through any legitimate means?

I won’t pretend to have all of the answers. I certainly think the following article makes a lot of interesting points.

DesertThunder let me also say thank you for your service and I hope your sister all the best in her struggle.

Sadly Obama is voting “present” as I have repeated before paraphrasing someone else, “Release the dogs of war or bring them home NOW!!”

And for God’s sake give them SUPPORT!!

DesertThunder, I also hope that your sister is doing well with her struggle with MS. You sound like the very best kind of person, and one who represents the values of this country best. I have a friend who has MS and I know the stress, fear, and frustration that comes with it. I am sure she is appreciative of your support.

I believe we are a deeply divided nation who has vastly differing concepts of what we believe America to be. Some of us see our country as a force of good in the world, and cherish the America that allows everyone to achieve the American Dream if they apply themselves. Others see this country as a country that “owes” it’s citizens everything from cradle to grave, and wants to “level the playing field” by wealth re-distribution.

I don’t know what is in store for our country, but I do know that I will never give up the good fight to safe guard our freedom, and prevent us from becoming another European wannabe to appease other nations that despise us for our strengths.

Thank you VP Cheney for continuing to speak up and speak out for America!

Men/women of our military are languishing in foxholes while their so called “Commander N’ Chief” makes up his mind?

Playing basketball and golf with his buddies…while soldiers are huddling in open areas and eating rations!

Men/women are dying everyday due to his lack of good judgment.

This man is a “community” organizer not a defender of America and it’s military!

He is the enemy within…he doesn’t want a fight with his Islamic brothers…he would rather attack and destroy Americans here at home than Muslims on the battlefield!

Get our men/women out of harm’s way…bring them home to protect our shores and our people from the Democratzi attempting to take us down from within!

Thank you, VP Cheney, for showing more bravery and loyalty than this so called “Commander N’ Chief”!

I see that the loony-leftie trolls are restless again, as they employ their slings and arrows with all the effectiveness of wet noodles. I probably shouldn’t pay attention to them, but the stupidity being displayed on this board is even more insipid than usual.
Alas…..

Maybe someone can talk Obama in to at least replacing the troops who die while he dithers.
