Cheney Slams KSM ‘Show Trial’ & Calls Obama Bow ‘Fundamentally Harmful’

“I can’t for the life of me figure out what Holder’s intent here is in having Khalid Sheikh Mohammad tried in civilian court other than to have some kind of show trial. They’ll simply use it as a platform to argue their case – they don’t have a defense to speak of – it’ll be a place for them to stand up and spread the terrible ideology that they adhere to."

A Real Leader (Dick Cheney) speaks what most common sense Americans feel about the Dithering on sending support to Afghanistan while emboldening our Enemies and deflating the morale of our troops. I agree totally with everything our ex-vice president has said and continues to say. Obama is a follower not a leader obviously because he never makes a snap decision on any critical issue but makes a snap decision in saying “The Police Acted Stupidly” in the Crowley/Gates campus incident when he didn’t even know the facts yet. Obama bows to world leaders when he should never be doing so as a President of The United States. Obama acts as if he had nothing to do with having K.S.M. and other Terrorists brought to NYC for a show Trial, is this a leader? I praise Dick Cheney for being a very wise and honorable man that is very smart about National and International Issues. I agree with him almost 100% of the time; unlike the current Marxist Moron Administration and the Coward/Follower in Chief.

Yes, Obanga is a muslim and a puppet, Cheney and Bush were puppets too.

In the long run America will be a muslim country just like UK, France, Netherlands, Sweden, Belgium will be muslim much earlier.

Politicians are all traitors, media is controlled.

In the past our leaders did not hesitate to deport or kill any muslim, now they are called British or American muslims.

Cheny asks the question I would like to have answered. I makes no sense to do what they are doing. The President and Attorney General have already corrupted the jury pool by stating that he is guilty and will receive the death penalty. I thought we were doing this to show the world how fair our system is – you know innocent until PROVEN guilty. If that is not the reason it only leaves one – an expensive, dangerous, petty ruse try to embarass Bush. It will only take one nut on the subway with a backpack bomb to show they are still at war with us. The truth unfortunately is this all will backfire on Obama BIG, BIG TIME and we will the ones hurt.

txmike   November 23rd, 2009 - 8:05 pm

Former President George W Bush and VP Cheney were far more qualified and made much better decisions than the moron currently residing in the White House. 2010 / 2012 can not get here soon enough

Norris   November 23rd, 2009 - 8:07 pm

Funny thing. I was in Iraq when we found a large depot containing weapons of mass destruction (WMDs) near the border with Syria. That was Dec. 2002. It was mostly artillery shells loaded with Sarin nerve gas, some mortar rounds. The boxes they were in indicated they were manufactured in the U.S.A., Great Britain and Canada. I guess that is why they were never reported. Too bad, it made the Bush/Chany administration look stupid. Alot of the members of the unit I was with were forced to sign Non-disclosure statements about this but I was reassigned and never signed one. I have contacted numerous news agencies about this, including FOX. Nobody is interested. But I know it and about 60 soldiers and civilian inspectors that were there know it. So there you go America!

Terry   November 23rd, 2009 - 8:19 pm

I’m confused. So our justice system is a show trial but the tribunal he would rather have would not be? Cheney is scared he is going to end up in jail for his war crimes, I suppose. I bet he wishes he has his little underground spider hole now. Cheney is a coward.

Obama is a corporate shill. However, Dick Cheney is still a chicken hawk.
Perhaps if Cheney had actually gone to Vietnam instead of getting five deferments, then perhaps he would have been a bit better prepared for handling the attacks on 9/11.

After all the presidential brief of August 6, 2001 was titled: Bin laden Determined To Attack Inside U.S.. The possibility of hijackings being carried out was stated right in that briefing. Then again, Cheney probably wouldn’t have shot his friend in the face, either, if he’d first had some time on the firing range as a young man in boot camp.

Obama has had 11 months to draw down our troops. He’s contemplating increasing troop levels, however.
Could it possibly be that Cheney recognized the threat and did something about it understanding that his standing would be attacked by every feeble minded liberal? Whereas Obama campaigned from a position of ignorance and ended up taking similar action – but his democrat spin machine tries to paint it as someone else’s fault?

That wouldn’t be, would it?

Cheney is at least forthright. Obama is a liar.

Freddo   November 24th, 2009 - 10:01 am

The more people see of Cheney, the more we are reminded how legitmate the former administration was, and what a joke the current one is.

There’s a village in Kenya missing an idiot.

Thanks for nothing!   November 24th, 2009 - 10:29 am

Gee, Freddo, I was thinking the exact opposite thing…the more I see of Cheney the more I thank God that this evil, vile man is no longer in a position to affect foreign policy.

And H2K, whether or not you like Obama, the fact is that he inherited this mess from an incompetent administration that did not pursue the war properly in the first place and managed to get bogged down needlessly in Iraq instead. We should have been out of Afghanistan long ago with bin Laden’s head as a trophy but Idiot-boy had other ideas and now we are stuck with no good options. It doesn’t matter what Obama does in Afghanistan, the looney fringe on the right will not be happy. If he pulls our troops out, he will be surrendering to al Qaeda, if he maintains things the way they are, he is dithering and indecisive, and if he increases troops, he is prolonging a needless war.

What would you do if you were President?

Freddo   November 24th, 2009 - 10:42 am

So ‘Thanks for Nothing!’, you believe having a public trial for terrorists who killed 3000 citizens during an act of war is the right thing? Then I guess Obama and Holder are your guys.

First Obama makes the decision that it’s Holder’s decision, not his decision. How presidential. What leadership. Then Holder makes a stupid decision that has embarassed and enraged Americans and shamed the families of the 9-11 victims. Obama’s approval has dropped about 5 points since this announcement and continues spiraling downward.

The subtle truth is these two black men are ruining it for black people everywhere. People will continue to wonder if they are all this incompetent.

John   November 24th, 2009 - 10:50 am

If I were president I would first arrest half of Congress and the joke who currently sits in the oval office for being traitors to the Americam people in an attempt to ruin our country with absurd progressive ways. Then I would send all of you liberal pieces of s.h.i.t. to the front lines while simultaneously deporting Muslims of all kinds. They do not belong here and will only continue to cause problems big and small.

H2K   November 24th, 2009 - 11:20 am

Thanks for nothing!
You can call this inherited this mess from an incompetent administration or you can call it change of administration. The fact is, every 8 years at a maximum, there will be a change of administration. You can’t expect every initiative to be completed every 8 years. The war on terror will unfortunately continue longer than Obama’s 4 year term. The objective of the president is to pursue the goal as best as you can given the circumstances that you are dealt.

Did Bush pursue the war properly? I wish he would have been more aggressive in Iraq and Afghanistan and knocked it out quickly. Obama said that Afghanistan was where we should have been. If it was easy to get Bin Laden, wouldn’t Obama have his head within 11 months? Bush did not have an overwhelming majority of Republicans in senate/congress to support his war on terror strategy. So, he had to compromise. Congress/senate affect funding, and Bush had to placate democrats in order to continue funding the war. This affected his strategy, I’m sure. Bush/Cheney were placed in a box and I don’t think they had the political skills to get out of it. I do admire that they were able to organize domestic/international law enforcement in order to better share terrorist information which I firmly believe kept our country safe for the remainder of their term after 9/11.

Obama is dithering and indecisive. His goal will not be to affect the war on terror to the benefit of the USA, it will be a selfishly political goal that he pursues that will give him the most accolades on the world’s stage. I feel that he is not supporting our armed forces properly. If he truly believes we should not fight wars, he should begin the drawdown now. That would at least show courage and conviction – none of whihc I believe Obama has.

Kagiso Edwards November 24th, 2009 – 4:36 am

Let me tell you what Joe was trying to tell you with no name calling.

Cheney accepted a series of student and family-related draft deferments. Cheney’s unself-consciousness about this is (or at least was) so pronounced that in 1989 he told George C. Wilson of the Washington Post, “I had other priorities in the ’60s than military service.”

Cheney can criticize as long as it’s someone else or their family member going to war to be maimed or killed as long as it’s not him or his family members.

Power drills and mock executions are not the only extralegal techniques that CIA employees are alleged to have committed. One CIA contractor, according to the CIA Inspector General, is alleged to have beaten an Afghan detainee to death with a large metal flashlight and his foot. Released criminal records show that another CIA employee was interrogating a detainee at Abu Ghraib prison in a stress position with a bag over his head, when the detainee died of asphyxiation. Assuming that Cheney did not misspeak, his statement to Wallace suggests that he believes these deaths are “OK’ given the circumstances.

You right wingers must be really proud of Mr Cheney.

Founding Father Fan   November 24th, 2009 - 12:44 pm

To So I Say,
Glad to hear of those alleged detainee deaths. Those terrorists deserve nothing less. I only hope it was every bit as painful as jumping from a burning tower in New York.

Norris   November 24th, 2009 - 12:45 pm

So I Say
Power drills and mock executions are not the only extralegal techniques that Americans plan to commit against the Socialist/Marxist Liberals now destroying our country. One American Patriot, according to here-say, is going to beat a Socialist/Leftist Marxist with a large metal flashlight and his foot. Records show that another American Patriot hopes to interrogate Socialist/Marxist Democrat detainees at the U.S Capital in stress positions with a bags over their heads. Get out of my country ya little prick!

Freddo,
Do I believe that a public trial for these creeps is the right thing? In the immortal words of that dope from Alaska, “You betcha”! I can think of nothing better than to have them get up and rant insanely about the “Great Satan” and reveal to the World what irrational fools that they really are. What are you and the Cheney types afraid of? You seem to have a problem with black men in positions of authority

H2K,
Bush and the Republicans had control of both houses for six years. They didn’t need the Democrats and made that point perfectly clear, essentially blackmailing Democrats to go along with them. The only box that these two were placed in was one that they created for themselves. I repeat my previous question: What would you do if you were President Obama?

If you think that Obama is a one term president who is going to beat him? Surely you don’t think that the empty head from Alaska can do it.

So I Say   November 24th, 2009 - 1:04 pm

Founding Father Fan

I didn’t know those detainees were the ones who flew the planes into the Towers.

It’s ok to kill, torture and do unspeakable things to anyone as long as they are not white Americans.

There is no such thing as a just or compassionate conservative.

Thanks for nothing!   November 24th, 2009 - 1:07 pm

I find it ironic that you are a “founding father fan” given that you are for beating someone to death on the suspicion that they are a “terrorist” without any proof. These “alleged” deaths did, in fact, occur and the victims were not necessarily terrorists. Of course they were Muzzies so they must have been guilty of something, right? The main creep in charge was proudly known as “knees of death” for his ability to kick someone brutally. These are tactics for groups that wear jackboots, not our people. They wound up doing much more harm than good and one reason that al Qaeda never seems to have problems recruiting is because our own brutality was turned against us.

H2K   November 24th, 2009 - 1:43 pm

Thanks for nothing!
I’m not sure why you are having trouble understanding me. Bush did not have the veto-proof majority in the senate for any of his years that Obama enjoys now. In fact, 2002 to 2004 you may remember Jeffords from NH switching parties causing the slim majority to go away. Bush and Cheney absolutely needed democrats because he had some very pliable Republicans – Jim Jeffords, Lincoln Chafee, George Voinovich, etc. He was able to get support from Lieberman, or example.

You can convince yourself that Bush strong-armed and blackmailed his way throughout his 2 terms. The facts don’t support your statement. He had to compromise. If Bush was able to strong-arm his will, why did he not get his nominations for federal judges approved? Why was John Bolton so short-lived in the UN?

Think. Don’t just spew….

Thanks for nothing!   November 24th, 2009 - 2:07 pm

H2K,
I am just curious, how did Bush compromise on Iraq and Afghanistan? Republican had a majority in both houses and he bullied his way around Congress with his, “yur wid me or’n yur again’ me” attitude. He and Cheney played the patriotism/fear card to the hilt. They also lied through their teeth. When he lost the 2006 elections he had to compromise but before that he certainly did not.

SanFranciscoGo   November 24th, 2009 - 2:26 pm

It is proven here and time and time again, you cannot reason with socialist liberals.

Once narcissistic liberals close their minds to any bright light of reality or reason,
any “information” that they possess, which is usually half baked facts is repeated and
regurgitated in their minds in a hypnotic fashion. Leaving them incapable of comprehending
the unfortunate situation that they are in and are unaware of.

The next thing you know they’ll be claiming that there is global warming or something ridiculous.

Let’s take Afghanistan off the table. Bush was, and Obama is pursuing a military strategy there. In fact, I hear Obama will announce a military escalation after Thanksgiving. Obama’s goal is not to win – which is where I have my major difference. In my opinion, we win, or we get out. We could always launch a military drone to continue to do damage in Afghanistan if necessary once out. But if Obama does not have a winning mindset in Afghanistan that does not aggressively go after the enemy, then we owe it do our troops to announce defeat and leave.

Back to the point where you keep hammering me – Bush – did – not – have – a – veto-proof – majority – during – any – of – his – years – in – office. He was threatened with filibusters all the time. Therefore, his war funding bills had to include non-military pork in them. Do a G00gle search. You’ll find many military defense spending bills that the democrats porked up with extended unemployment benefits, spending on Louisiana post-Katrina, educational spending, spending on illegals, etc, etc.

Also G00gle Jim Jeffords. He switched parties in May 2001 which gave the democrats the senate majority 50-49 (1 independent). So stop with the “Bush had a majority for 6 years” because it isn’t true. In fact when we first went into Afghanistan, it was a democrat majority.

You could argue that the entitlement spending is necessary, but I’m saying it doesn’t belong in a defense spending bill and was put in there and NOT vetoed by Pres Bush as a compromise to have some democrat support.

Concerning the Bush lies surrounding Iraq, democrat-chaired intelligence committees thought Iraq was a threat, the international intelligence community thought we was a threat (British, Italian, French, Israel, others) thought he was a threat, and he was funding and rewarding terrorism throughout the mid-East.

Go to y0utub3 and look for Hillary Clinton gets a pink slip from code pink. She said that she was an active part of the administration under her husband and they knew the threat and she owed it to her constituents to pursue the war on terror.

So while you may not agree with our posture with Iraq, Bush was hardly the person who walked into office and then lied to send troops to Iraq. That’s just preposterous.

I understand this derangement syndrome. You don’t like Bush’s swagger or his talk, and you are too immature to uncouple his personality from his policies. He and Cheney kept us safe for the years after 9/11 – safety that we’re still enjoying.

Use reason when you make statements here.
