Yes, it is true that pharma companies make lots of money, but they also shoulder the burden of research and development. Afterall, it is competition that pushes innovation– government is parasitic by its nature, and does not produce anything. Generic companies (which liberals find to be morally superior for some reason) wait for the patent to expire, and then make a cheap knock-off in India out of inferior ingredients– and don’t assume the FDA or any other agency is thoroughly checking every shipment to the US. Makes you wonder if the truly great $4 dollar deal at Wal Mart is really just Chinese drywall in pill form.
As for Obama, why are his voters surprised when he says one thing and does another? And why doesn’t he have a specific plan for health care reform when he’s been talking publicly about it for more than 7 years? Can he personally come up with a Powerpoint presentation, an outline on a cocktail napkin… something?
