Where’s he going to come up with that many Muslim soldiers?

Uncle Tom   November 9th, 2009 - 9:55 pm

“Obama’s new strategy” LOL. 40,000 is the figure originally requested by McChrystal.

The Left is going to love this plan. …not!

suvrec   November 9th, 2009 - 9:58 pm

yep …… surprising the timing of this notice??? anything happen recently we need to be distracted from??

will these troops have to go via Fort Hood, which is now the securest base in the world

Suvrec   November 9th, 2009 - 10:01 pm

he met the gen. once and spoke to him once, …… and the Gen. is in charge of a war zone, ….. yet BO has had Stern the top man at SEIU in the WH …. 22 times . which war zone is Stern looking after???

Lydia   November 9th, 2009 - 10:06 pm

If Obama does this then I woll NO LONGER support him on anything EVER!
This will prove he’s weak and has no backbone!
Liberals want these wars over and over now and look at him bowing down to the repukes! How dare him! He’s going to regret this in a major way if he does it!

Sylvia   November 9th, 2009 - 10:28 pm

Com’on Libs, don’t get your shorts in a twist…these are 40,000 ACORN Civilian forces…not US Army troops.

He could never recruit THAT many Muslim soldiers to send overseas. He’s already one short in his Texas jihad regiment.

JHardyM   November 9th, 2009 - 10:34 pm

Vietnam: Our government would put out news releases that such and such unit with such and such aircraft and so many men and that they would be sent to this base or that base and would arrive at a certain time and Charlie would be waiting with rounds locked and loaded. This administration is doing the same thing only slower. I’m glad that I am not in the military this time, however, I fear for our men and women that have to follow this idiotic administration.

dontflagmebro   November 9th, 2009 - 10:37 pm

We can’t afford it. We have to borrow or print the money. USSR went broke over this. Change back to winning airpower. We need troops cause Obama tied one hand, restricted airpower and artillery. Send the Gunships back and the bombers. Or bring them home this running around chasing jihad while New World Order has a get away truck unloading OUR bank in the back.

SteveZ71   November 9th, 2009 - 10:44 pm

He said “Rid themselves of the corruption…arrest and prosecute the ones that are corrupt”. Was he talking about Obama, his Administration, and Congress? Sounds like a good idea to me!! lol

RobbieK   November 9th, 2009 - 10:49 pm

And I still ask myself “Why?”. 20% of a fraudulent Presidency served and this idiot continues in his tailspin to unelection. God I can’t wait.

txmike   November 9th, 2009 - 10:56 pm

Late is better than never. I still think he is a poor President.

This strategy is no surge! A surge means a quick insertion. This will as they said, be a trickling in of troops. This will only result in a large amount of body bags coming back. I would rather bring them home now instead of watching young men and women dying because of the “undecider”!

MiPain   November 10th, 2009 - 12:26 am

Probably another clintonesque trial balloon wait and see. Perhaps just a distraction from the multiple domestic Jihad terrorist attacks since he became POTUS. I beleive nothing this president says.

If this is true–if–then Barack actually finally made the first good decision of his presidency. Too bad it’s only coming two month after the decision should have been made.

This man is not able to lead our nation, and every day that fact becomes more and more obvious.

See the latest articles on our disaster of a president at http://twilightfalling.blogspot.com

History will judge Barack Hussein Obama harshly, and correctly dub him the worst president in American history. Let’s just hope we still have something of our freedom and liberty left when he is finally tossed out of office.

This won’t happen until after he gets his Nobel Peace Prize. Look at how easily a handful of European Leftist intellectuals have managed to manipulate American foreign policy.

What a pitifully weak creature we have in the White House.

Dave   November 10th, 2009 - 8:03 am

Had I voted for Obama I would be seriously dismayed at him not only refusing to bring our military home from Iraq(like promised),but I would be incensed that he would actually increase troops in “Pipelineistan”.
So where’s the change?

Obama just go play some more golf.   November 10th, 2009 - 9:13 am

Yeah now that we already had the Terrorist event on US soil (Ft Hood)…now you are sending troops. Mr Obama you knew what the right thing to do was and you didn’t do it months ago. I am sorry. This is too little too late.

America hit an iceberg or two some time ago. Ever since, it has been visibly taking on water and furiously searching for more icebergs. With a bit of luck, iceberg alley is just around the bend. There it is. Keep her steady while we get past this clear patch. Woow! That was close.

Good news! More icebergs! Brinkmanship is so yesteryear. Sinkmanship is the new black.

This is nothing compared to what will likely happen in Iran when they refuse to capitulate to the UN / US demands to quit their nuclear weapons development. First look for a US Naval blockade, and if that doesn’t yeild any results, then look out for Israel’s deployment of bunker busters to destroy the underground sites like Natanz. Afghanistan will be a footnote in a major war when Iran invades Iraq and the entire ME begins to breakout in war. 40,000 troops in Afghansistan will be a drop in the bucket of blood shed then.

Buy your oil futres now.

This report by CBS and a similar one by the Associated Press saying Obama will be sending 40,000 or more troops to Afghanistan are both false. The Obama administrations own National Security Adviser James Jones has specifically stated that Obama has NOT yet committed to doing anything regarding sending any more troops to Afghanistan. Which means Barack Obama is still “dithering” about the whole thing. They say Obama was supposedly waiting for the Afghan elections to be decided first and then he would send the additional troops that General McChrystal requested after knowing who would finally be in charge as Afghanistan’s next President. Well.., the election HAS ALREADY been decided yet he is still on the fence as to what he will eventually do regarding troop buildup in Afghanistan. In the meantime our brave soldiers in arms are becoming more at risk than ever as the Taliban and al-Qaeda find new incentives for resurgence as they see our “weak-kneed” purported President of the United States “dithering” away even while those same brave men and women in uniform look to him for leadership and resolve regarding this dire situation in Afghanistan and that they are risking their very lives defending for not only our freedom but the freedom(s) of the Afghani people as well. And ol’ Obummer is still stuck in wishy-washy mode dithering away while our casualties mount.

The brigades at Ft Drum that have been training for eventual deployment have been told to stand down.

I think he will do his usual and say one thing and do another.

NEOFREEDOM   November 10th, 2009 - 11:29 am

HELL ,40,000 more troops what a laugh, we need the DRAFT and the CONSCRIPTION of not only you Americans but also of the Nato alliance to get the job done properly.More like 40 million soldiers would do the trick to end this World War against ISLAM and their Ideology for World domination sending all us infidels to HELL ! I say send them to ALLAH’ HELL QUICK ! P.S. BUY YOUR GOLD NOW,AND STOCK UP ON YOUR AMMO. May G-D Bless Freedom for all G-D fearing people of the World,Christians unite. Political Correctness is destroying Western Civilization.

Did Obama mention that the soldiers would be unarmed?

Senator Klit Torris   November 10th, 2009 - 12:06 pm

The story failed to mention that B.H.O. is sending The 101st Allah Akbar Brigade from Dearborn, Michigan to Afghanistan later this month.
Next to deploy will be The 97th Armored Division From CAIR, and The ACORN Special Forces.
Using Obama and Commander in Chief in the same sentence is heresy.

Ordnance Dad   November 10th, 2009 - 1:10 pm

We will see. I have little or no faith in this guy when it comes to making good decisions for the military. I will be watching his performance (that’s all it will be) at the memorial at Hood very closely. We can’t lose Afghanistan. The Russians did and look what happened. The terrorists were emboldened. Al Quaeda became much more powerful and not long afterward the Soviet Union came down in part because the satellite countries saw that the bear had lost its teeth. We cannot afford that. My daughter is serving in Iraq. She called me this morning and told me she is re-enlisting today. She didn’t think she was going to be able to as recently as last week because her MOS was closed. She’s an ammo specialist. It openned back up. I wonder if this has anything to do with that.
