Man made global warming is an absolute hoax. On a planet that can produce ice ages every 10,000 years or so, the notion of Al Gore’s crusade gets silly. When you couple that with data tampering and obfiscation no doubt is left. Finally, just who stands to benefit from taxes and monies taken for the hoax? Big government–that is who.

Water vapor accounts for 95% of greenhouse effect yet EPA didn’t list it as a greenhouse chemical and warming charlatists ignored its effect in their computer modeling ‘trick’ because 99.99% of water vapor is from natural origin and it therefore cannot be taxed or regulated.

Some Common Fallacies
1. The atmospheric warming of the last century is unprecedented and unique.
Wrong.
There are literally thousands of papers in the scientific literature with data that shows that the climate has been changing one way or the other for millions of years.
2. It is a fact that the warming of the past century was anthropogenic in origin, i.e. man-made and due to carbon dioxide emission.
Wrong.
That is a theory for which there is no credible proof. There are a number of causes of climatic change, and until all causes other than carbon dioxide increase are ruled out, we cannot attribute the change to carbon dioxide alone.
3. The most important gas with a “greenhouse” effect is carbon dioxide.
Wrong.
Water vapor is at least 100 times as effective as carbon dioxide, so small variations in water vapor are more important than large changes in carbon dioxide.
4. One cannot argue with the computer models that predict the climate effects of a doubling of carbon dioxide or other “greenhouse gases”.
Wrong.
To show this we must show that the computer models can at least duplicate the present-day climate. This they cannot do with what could be called accuracy by any stretch of the imagination. There are studies that show that the average error in modeling present precipitation is on the order of 100%, and the error in modeling present temperature is about the same size as the predicted change due to a doubling of carbon dioxide. For many areas, the precipitation error is 300-400 percent.
5. I am arguing that the carbon dioxide measurements are poorly done.
Wrong.
The measurements are well done, but the interpretation of them is often less than acceptably scientific.
6. It is the consensus of scientists in general that carbon-dioxide-induced warming of the climate is a fact.
Probably wrong. I know of no vote having been taken, and know that if such a vote were taken of those who are most vocal about the matter, it would include a significant fraction of people who do not know enough about climate to have a significant opinion. Taking a vote is a risky way to discover scientific truth.
So What Can We Say about Global Warming?
We can say that the Earth has most probably warmed in the past century. We cannot say what part of that warming was due to mankind’s addition of “greenhouse gases” until we consider the other possible factors, such as aerosols. The aerosol content of the atmosphere was measured during the past century, but to my knowledge this data was never used.
We can say that the question of anthropogenic modification of the climate is an important question — too important to ignore. However it has now become a media free-for-all and a political issue more than a scientific problem.
What a change from 1968 when I gave a paper at a national scientific meeting and was laughed at for suggesting that people could possibly change the climate!

Why focusing on CO2 and AGW is silly.
- The greatest contributors of warming/cooling are ocean surface flux, heat flux, humidity and clouds. Also one must consider light input and planet wide albedo as well as magnetosphere strength. CO2 has a very low overall impact. Insulators (such as CO2) have a non-linear diminishing return in terms of efficacy. The more CO2 that is put up, the less insulating effect it will have per unit.
- Modern CO2 level is as at 400ppm.
- Precambrian CO2 was 4500 ppm, Oxygen @ 12.5%, temp +7C modern.
- Ordovician CO2 was 4200 ppm, Oxygen @ 12.5%, temp +2C modern level.
- Carboniferous CO2 was 800ppm (over double today), yet it has a nice Oxygen level at 32.5%. Also, temperatures were the same or slightly lower than today’s temp.
- Jurassic CO2 1950ppm, 26% O2 and ~ 3C above modern. (That’s about 5x today’s CO2, more oxygen, similar temps).
- Cretaceous CO2, 1700ppm, O2 @ 30%, temps about 4C higher. This is the realm of the greatest biodiversity the world has ever seen. Lots of oxygen, lots of CO2 but no man-made AGW. Imagine living in an atmosphere with this much oxygen – Olympic records would certainly fall. Lots of CO2 around to feed plants and create biodiversity.
- Neogene to modern. Where we are today. Most of the atmospheric oxygen loss (about 8% of the total) occurs before industrialization. It must also be noted the AGW scientific activists use the last 800,000 years and not the entire neogene period to show trends.
- At no point, even with many times the current CO2, did the greenhouse effect run away like it has on Venus.
It seems to me that people should consider planting trees that produce a lot of O2 out of normal CO2 respiration. That would help albedo and do more for the world than any attempt to prevent CO2 changes. Build nuclear power plants (lots of them) and try to get to fusion as soon as possible. Then pollution (everything BUT CO2, which is plant food) can finally slow down. Things like MTBE, metals (mercury, cadmium, arsenic, etc), PDBE, BPA, etc, etc. CO2 is the last thing to worry about .

Weather is cycle driven..lots of factors, including us. Have to laugh when the nuts start pulling their hair out yelling the sky is falling..the Sahara was not alway a desert and the Artic was not always covered with ice..things are going to change. I’m not surprised by this at all. They have studied the complexity of the atmosphere and many of them realize at this point it is nearly impossible to come to a definitive conclusion that one man made factor is causing it to happen. Who are these “climate scientists” if most of them aren’t meteorologists? I would think that being educated in the study of the atmospheric processes related to weather would be a prerequisite.
The origins of global warming alarmism had its roots in the 1970s-era fears of global cooling and an impending ice age, resulting from the 1940-1970 global temperature decline. Swedish meteorologist Bert Bolin suggested at the time that man-made greenhouse gas emissions might offset the cooling by warming the atmosphere.
When Margaret Thatcher became UK Prime Minister in 1979, her mandate was to reduce Britain’s economic decline. Thatcher wanted to make the UK energy-independent through nuclear power – she didn’t like her country’s reliance on coal, which politically empowered the coal miner unions, or oil, which empowered Middle Eastern states.
So Thatcher latched onto Bolin’s notion that man-made emissions of carbon dioxide warmed the planet in a harmful way, thereby providing the perfect political cover for advancing her nuclear power agenda without having to fight the miners or Arab oil states.

Please, be rational and reasonable. It’s not a so-called TV Weathercaster’s job to understand the effects of Carbon and other gases on our environment. It’s their job to predict the weather for a week. A climatologist spends their entire life studying this stuff, not looking pretty on TV.
You owe it to your children and your children’s children to face the facts: climate change is real, and it is caused by humans. It’s our responsibility to do something about it. You will be so ashamed of yourselves if you don’t.
