Couldn't tell if he was wearing a beanie helmet or no helmet at all. It looks like he may have had a beanie helmet which was knocked off on impact and was laying in the foreground at the end. I'm not pretty but I always wear a full face helmet, riding pants and jacket with armor in the shoulders and elbows. This guy is especially lucky considering what he was wearing.

Damn, so many times when I ride my street bike I worry so much about just this thing happening. Somebody in a car with no care in the world just turning in my lane and hitting me. People need to pay attention what is going on around them. Often it is the uncoordinated slow drivers with what I guess is no peripheral vision that are at fault in these accidents. Who knows, maybe the guy was on the phone or just incapable of driving safely but man, he just turns left right in front of that bike… he is lucky he didn't kill somebody. Driving with my mom as she slows to a stop in an effort to merge with highway traffic I try to tell her she must hit he gas and merge but she shakes, swears, and eventually freezes as she is incapable of doing this simple task. I don't know how many accidents she has created in this way but I do know she has a perfect driving record and I wonder how some can be so incapable of the simple task of driving. Meanwhile she blames all the other drivers on the road???

To bad it wasn't Glenn Beck. Then again if it was we would have a new chalk board rant connecting Lenin to the guy driving the truck. Hell, was that guy even born here? We all know as soon as you say football, they are "all American". I mean one commenter says the Sun was in the drivers eyes, the Sun rises in the east and must therefore be anti-western and a terrorist. So this driver who is definitley related to Lenin cause he's not a football player was staring at his terrorist star, the Sun, and ran over an innocent motorcyclist. You see this is what happens when people led by the eastern communists in the WH get to drive around when their socialist nazi orb, known as the Sun, is out. What has happened to the America we all love where that crazy eastern Sun wouldn't be allowed to distract everyone. I….I can't fathom what is going to be next and I am afraid for all football players……sniff sniff.

Everyone is in too much of a hurry nowadays and take unnecessary risks. It looks to me that the sun is in the pickup truck driver's eyes, so he probably could not even see the kid, but it also looked like he was trying to make that left hand turn before more oncoming traffic came through. If he had just slowed down a bit and made sure the way was clear, everyone would have been safely on their way.

Sometimes drivers make mistakes. It is dangerous to ride a motorcycle or scooter.

He doesn't strike me as lucky like so many have said. The guy riding behind him was lucky – he didn't get hit. Tough is the word you're looking for.
