Daily Caller update as of 5:49PM Thursday: The State Department has refused to answer basic questions about an accident that took place in Washington on Wednesday night, in which a U.S. Diplomatic Security Service vehicle struck Daily Caller employee Sean Medlock as he was crossing the street. An agent in the vehicle, Mike McGuinn, did not identify himself to Medlock at the scene, or apologize for running him down. Indeed, Washington, D.C., police drove to a local emergency room to serve Medlock with a jaywalking citation as he lay prostrate in a hospital bed, while a man who identified himself as “special agent” stood by watching and taking notes.

Phil Kerpen, vice president for policy at Americans for Prosperity: So the first thing I checked in this year’s budget was how much revenue was expected from the cap-and-trade energy tax, to which the president reiterated his commitment in his State of the Union address last week. The surprising answer is the budget actually has, literally, a blank line for the cap-and-trade tax. A black box. A slush fund. A secret budget-within-the-budget. Talk about a lack of transparency.

"I hope you know that during my town hall today, I wasn't saying anything negative about Las Vegas. I was making the simple point that families use vacation dollars, not college tuition money, to have fun. There is no place better to have fun than Vegas, one of our country's great destinations,” President Obama wrote in a letter to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

Glenn Beck: "Arianna Huffington, I would like you to explain this. The last time and the only time that I've ever seen you or spoken to you, you asked me to write for the Huffington Post and tried to convince me that it would be good because you are so open minded and everything else."

Fox News: The fiscal year 2011 budget, sent to Congress Monday, includes new jobs-creation programs and additional funding for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, but is projected to add nearly $1.3 trillion in deficit spending on top of the current year's projected $1.6 trillion deficit. As he unveiled the budget, Obama warned the federal government to stop treating taxpayer dollars like "Monopoly money." But Republicans questioned whether Obama was doing enough to follow his own advice.

Hillbuzz.org: These are people who hide their own identities while outing anonymous political bloggers, running photos of them, then heading over to Daily Kos to incite physical violence against them — where posts calling people RAAACISTS! are met with plans to “find out where they live”, “bloody their noses”, “beat them”, “get them fired."

Media Research Center: The Obama administration was embarrassed by a series of revelations about its most radical actions, assumptions, and associations in 2009. While Fox News and the conservatives on talk radio and the Internet broke and developed these stories, Americans following only the "mainstream" media would never have heard these reports. Instead of acting as government watchdogs holding the people in power accountable, the nation’s broadcast news networks deliberately suppressed and de facto censored embarrassing scoops – at least until President Obama or Congress took action and made them impossible to ignore.
