Submarines have always fascinated me. Their role in the last century cannot be overstated. Character at a point of pressure is the most important asset a leader, officer, or soldier possesses. Why? Because sometimes it is necessary to close the hatch to save the ship. The question to my mind is which party possesses the capacity to do that now.

While the collusion of both parties are to blame for our sinking ship. It is the Republican party that is desperately trying to close the hatch and save the ship. The Republican party is standing against three pieces of legislation that will forever resign this nation to a continual decline and eventual ruin. The first is commonly understood to be “health care,” this legislation will forever alter a citizens relationship to their government. If it passes medical attention will become a right that must be met by force of law. As the saying goes, if you want to make something expensive, make it free. The failure of this solution to meeting the medical needs of people is deeply felt by those who lost loved ones because the English or the Canadian governments denied vital care. Liberal Democrats have another scheme to launch on the American people this one is called “Cap and Trade” – essentially this nightmare would allow the federal government to tax a citizen when they drive, breath, or turn on the light switch. Kirsten Gillibrand has personally advocated for it in the editorial page of the Wall Street Journal, I assume Senator Gillibrand expects that by creating the next Wall Street scam will lead to voluminous campaign contributions on the back of the American taxpayer. Finally, there is “Card Check,” this gem would eliminate the secret ballot from the process by which a business goes from being a non-union to a union shop. Thus, the Union leadership would be in a position to put massive pressure on those who voted “no.” Republicans have stood, and are standing against all of this – in fact on the “Cap and Trade” front Republicans have earned bipartisan opposition to it.

All the while the water is rushing into our ship, and the choice must be made in six months; will the citizens of this great nation choose to stand with the leadership of the liberal democratic party, that is trying to keep the hatch open, so we all go down, or will the American people choose to stand with the Republican party, that is trying to close the hatch? I have confidence that the American people are ready to not only support the Republican party, but help close the hatch and save the ship. America is ready to sacrifice all but our liberty and our economic freedom – this has, and will always be true, and has happened in the past, it is “We The People” leading the charge. Right now the only organized political party that has the capacity to close the hatch is the Republican party.

A moritorium on exploritory wells is only about 30 out of over 3600 active wells in the gulf. Do you people really think that we know why this happened ?

It cost the drillers hundreds of thousands of dollars a day for that equipment whether or not they are working or sitting. The owners will have one choice that is to send the equipment to work overseas. In that case they will not be back. So this administration wants to shut down all drilling, they want to force us in to green technology without a plentiful domestic source of the elements required. I thought that there were so many wars over oil and that green technology would stop the wars. Yet it would appear that we are going to simply switch from one source of wars to another. How can we switch to electric cars when there are no plentiful domestic sources of the magnets or sources in trade friendly countries? China controls the source and refinement of the rare earth magnets and has been setting up operations in Africa and abroad.

The truth is this administration only cares about taxing the hell out of oil & gas via cap & trade as a mechanism of redistribution of wealth and could really care less about green energy. Gas is $5 to $7 per gallon in Europe, the government uses the taxes for social programs. This administration would like to follow the same path to pay for it's unsustainable socialist programs. Imagine the effect on the economy!

Let me paint a picture for you:
Scientists estimate there are only 8 million tones of Neodymium reserves in existence
Current production taking in to account there is no major EV car on the road is 7,000 tones
If this administration and then the UN were to force every new car, lawnmower, forklift, delivery vehicle etc. to be an EV in conjunction with shutting down coal fired plants and forcing windmill farms, demand would rise up to 500,000 tones per year which means we would deplete supplies before every car on the road is replaced. Don’t forget the foreign policy nightmare of trying to obtain the source for electric cars from foreign semi hostile governments.
Next lets talk about the battery technology which is still very primitive as far as energy density, durability for all climates, longevity and charge times. Current EV batteries are not capable of 400 miles per charge in very hot or cold climates. The charge times with average household electrical supply is 4 hours – not to mention in urban settings, not everyone has a garage with a 200amp supply. The kicker is Most of the lithium ore is mined from foreign sources.

Bolivia the socialist country if you remember during the Copenhagen climate summit this past December that was demanding redistribution of wealth due to climate damage is the largest producer of Lithium and holds 5,400,000 metric tones in reserves. Chile and Argentina – both failed socialist countries that were also on the redistribution of wealth climate change bandwagon have a total of 13,520,000 metric tones in reserves.
The united states is estimated to only have 410,000 metric tones in lithium reserves (so much for domestic green jobs)

The easiest way for China to accomplish this is to nationalize the rare earth magnet supplies and only allow their domestic auto production to consume their supplies. What will this do to our domestic auto industry when it must source the two most critical elements to an electric car from China and Afghanistan/Bolivia?
There is no lithium ion battery technology that currently exists that will alow for:
500 miles per charge
5 minute recharge
Operation in sub zero climates as in Michigan, wisconson etc.
Operation in high temp climates as in AZ, NM, CA, TX, NV
There are no batteries capable of running 18 wheeler big rigs carrying 80,000 pounds of food for long hauls

There is no such thing as an electric lithium ion battery pack for DC10 or 757 airplanes
The massive excavation equipment used to extract Rare earth magnets and Lithium ore must run on Diesel fuel
The super tankers that will ship the refined ore run on diesel

The environmentalist wackos do not understand that a gallon of gas contains a certain amount of potential energy, there is nothing on earth at this point in time that can match that potential energy.

Hah, you're pretty easy to guide to the obvious conclusion. But you're exactly right. Why ground EVERY PLANE IN THE SKY? Why stop ALL DEEP WATER DRILLING OPERATIONS, when only 1 type of rig from 1 company had the problem?
