Candidate’s Hidden Camera Catches Opponent Removing Campaign Signs

On Saturday night, the son of a Florida state House candidate hid an infrared camera next to his father's campaign signs at an intersection, to catch thieves. Within minutes, his father's opponent and his wife were caught doing exactly that.

I believe it was reported that this couple were removing signs from private property that was owned by their friend. Does that make it right…if it is on a public road…no!

They should have more confidence in their own abilities to get out the truths of what they stand for…not a sign!

A sign is just a reminder…their positions reveal who they really are and the fact that they are removing the opposition's signs shows a lack of confidence in what they really believe!

Order66   July 28th, 2010 - 11:23 am

When I was young[er] and gave a sheet, I hung all sorts of signs for GOP candidates…including 1994 (oh, what a year).

Some dingleberry kept taking our signs at one prominent intersection every night. We put up a set with pepper spray on 'em – after all, the only people taking down the signs should be the people who put them up, right? They disappeared, too, but at least we had the satisfaction of knowing we probably messed some moron up.

I am very glad to see that technology is now exposing craven idiots like the people in this video – people who are so insecure in their ideas and/or campaign that they feel the need to attempt to shove their opponent down a Memory Hole, lest they be forced to actually confront them and their ideas.

So, a special MyKu goes out to the dope that took the signs I pepper sprayed so many years ago:

DarthShatner   July 28th, 2010 - 11:25 am

Awesome…

Isnt this an actual crime?

Something to think about… we have text messages from Tiger to his harem. We have audio files of Mel going balistic on his GF. We have video footage of Tommy Lee's wiener, We even have video footage of Daniel Pearl getting his head sawed off, yet there is still no audio or video proof that Tea Party Activists yelled the "N-word" outside the House of Chambers on Capitol Hill.

Tea Party Activists arm yourself with cameras, that is the most effective weapon we have to defeat liberal tyranny.

di_da_is_alpha   July 28th, 2010 - 6:26 pm

Yeah, I always sneak around at night and hide from cars when I have permission to be on private property.

DickHunter   July 28th, 2010 - 6:27 pm

IF this guy and his wife were removing his opponent's signs from the private property of a friend, then why was he concerned about his wife's fingerprints being on the removed signs??? He knew what he was doing was illegal, and he and his wife should both face charges! I would file charges and expose both the man and his wife for the lawbreakers they are.

selfthink   July 28th, 2010 - 6:35 pm

right – and worry about their fingerprints being on the confiscated signs!! It was done under cover of night because they know how pathetic they are.

UrinalMint   July 28th, 2010 - 6:36 pm

The guy who removed them needs to be placed in the knee-chest position and have the signs re-anchored in his A$$!

Common_Man   July 28th, 2010 - 6:37 pm

I watched the clip you linked. Brown says, "There may be a perception issue but really we had nothing to hide. We didn't come in the cover of darkness. We were on the way home from a political event. It was about 8:30 at night. I had magnets on my care, I mean… We stopped and took down some campaign signs that didn't have permission to be there." He then says that he is absolutely sure the signs were on the private property of one of his supporters.

If Brown and his wife had nothing to hide, why was he concerned about her fingerprints being on the sign? He says they didn't go under cover of darkness. Then why is it pitch black outside? The babbling about magnets on his car and the politcal event they were coming from is a clever distraction technique used by liars.

This guy is a liar. If you live in the district he is running in, you should be aware of that.

I agree with your user name. No quarter for traitors!

SpoonyNickerson   July 28th, 2010 - 11:39 am

When you know you aren't doing something wrong, you don't ask if there are cars coming, or worry about fingerprints being left behind. You also don't take 4 MINUTES to pull down a few signs. He asserts his vehicle had magnetic campaign signs on it, as if that would clear him. You know if anyone would have approached him and said "What are you doing here idiot?", he would have claimed he was putting UP his OWN signs.

What a weasel. I wish the reporter would have asked him why he was being so sneaky about it all.

NOQTR4TR8RS   July 28th, 2010 - 7:06 pm

That's exactly why I posted the link, to give more context. Not only did they get caught red-handed, but now they're trying to lie and BS their way out of it.

I am not a Republican, and I am not in their district. But I will tell you that if I were, I would not rest until these two were out of my party, off my ballot, and out of politics for good. This is the kind of underhanded sleaze and stifling of free expression that Democrats are famous for, at least in my neck of the woods. I'm sure their family, their supporters, and their church must all be very proud.

If this guy hasn't confessed, apologized, and dropped out of the race by this time tomorrow, I will presume that the Florida GOP supports this kind of potentially criminal activity, the same as the ProComs do.

BHO_UMM_UMM_UMM   July 28th, 2010 - 7:11 pm

It is childish to remove campaign signs. It reflects poorly on the candidate when he does it himself. It doesn't mean the other candidate is a better choice, however, just that neither may be suitable for office. The political activist filming the removal was simply interested in undermining his preferred candidate's opponent. Had it not been the candidate himself plucking up the signs, the act of removing the signs would have no implications about the candidates.

Will_Antonin   July 28th, 2010 - 12:12 pm

TalkingDust   July 28th, 2010 - 12:33 pm

These vampirish creatures are just following the Congress' MO here, using the cover of dark to hide their dirty deeds. In the daytime, when an election doesn't go their way, they just recount the ballots until they get the desired outcome.

Smart, forward-thinking son!

Common_Man   July 28th, 2010 - 7:37 pm

The "political activist" was the other candidate, Paul Broxson's son. They wanted to know who was stealing their signs. They weren't "undermining" anyone. Broxson says that over 100 hundred signs had been stolen. I'd be pissed off too and I'd want to know who was doing it.

And it is beyond "childish" to remove campaign signs.

BHO_UMM_UMM_UMM   July 28th, 2010 - 7:39 pm

sachablue1   July 28th, 2010 - 7:43 pm

This has been going on for years-
It is a typical trick used by Libs & Demo-thugs !

Not ONLY do they remove the visible signs
they do so-
Knowingly, that they DRAIN the campaign funds of their opponents.

There motive is twofold……..

These printed signs are VERY expensive-
so the more they steal,
the opponent has to use more funds to replace them.

If CREEPS, like this resort to these kind of tactics to get into office-
is there any QUESTION what corruption, they will resort to while IN office ?

Wouldn't surprise me if MSNBC's Keith Obamamann spent his vacation doing the same thing.

BHO_UMM_UMM_UMM   July 28th, 2010 - 1:18 pm

Like I said, a political activist for Paul Broxson Sr.

I understand why they were wanting to know who stole their signs. If they caught the right person, it would improve their chance of winning. If they just wanted the thief punished, the video wouldn't be on the internet, just at the evidence room of the police station. Give me a break they weren't hoping to undermine anyone.

I'll stick with the childish. All sides have done it. The roadside signs are an ugly nuisance, excessive and probably do little, if anythng, to influence elections.

PS: I'm not defending the sign removal. If it was illegal, they should pay the price. And they should pay the political price even if no law was broken.

For those unfamiliar with the real event about mud on Dole billboards here is the real story …

Dole never said his opponent tossed literal real mud on his poster. Dole's ad people created
a visual effect showing mud being tossed on a billboard to illustrate that Dole's opponent was
a mud-slinger. Meaning that his opponent was making up lies about Dole and using the lies
in his campaign.

Since the ad itself made it clear that the mud was symbolic, since it was shown happening
in the video it was never implied to be a real act of slinging real mud, it was meant to be
symbolic and everyone that saw the ad understood the symbolic nature of it.

Now, go back to ass hole comcass's version of the story and suddenly it makes comcass
the ass that we all know him to be, for falsely reporting the story.

NOQTR4TR8RS   July 29th, 2010 - 4:09 pm

Thanks for the kind words. I feel strongly that a return to the letter and spirit of our Constitution, as presently amended, is our only hope to govern ourselves as free people, and to secure the blessings of liberty for future Americans. That means ALL of the Constitution, equally applied to ALL American citizens, regardless of race – no exceptions. I know of no other way. Anything else is simply servitude under an oligarchy of one political stripe or another. Our oligarchy is special. It has two stripes – Red and Blue.

We can never expect to return to these great principles of our founding, and restore Constitutional order, if we continue to elect and re-elect those who are openly hostile to some portions of the Constitution, but not others. It only results in the now enormously popular political "pendulum". One party rules us and bastardizes our principles, while the other, likewise hostile to other of our country's most basic principles, find themselves temporarily in the political minority. Desperate to regain power, they portray themselves as our only salvation. The pendulum swings, the roles reverse, and the cycle continues.

The two party political pendulum swings, left, then right, then back again. We working people, small business owners, taxpayers, patriots, are tricked into believing that there are but two kinds of Americans – Left and Right, Blue and Red, Good and Evil. Thus deceived, we plead, toil and struggle desperately to force the pendulum to be swung to "our" side. And how we rejoice and cheer when it so swings!

All the while we somehow fail to fail to see the truth – that this is Poe's descending pendulum, that we are all bound beneath it, and that it's "crescent of glittering steel" has sliced through the serge of our robes.
http://one-simple-idea.com/MainPartySimilarities….

No matter who you choose to cast your vote for, electable or not, and regardless of party, if your intent is to:

* Restore government that is rooted firmly in our Constitution as presently amended
* Preserve our founding principles
* Ensure that these things are applied to all our citizens with one hundred percent equality without exception
* Bequeath to posterity a free, prosperous, and secure Constitutional Republic that is better than the condition in which you inherited or adopted it

then in my mind you have spent what precious little political capital you have left as a citizen as wisely as it can be spent. And that must give some feeling of satisfaction to any patriot. I know it does to me.

Jamesmom   July 29th, 2010 - 4:47 pm

In most States, what the "opposition" candidate did would be called theft, and would be subject to prosecution. But, did you notice, this happened in Florida, down here it is an "art form", and an accepted manner of on job training for the office they seek.

Does Greg Brown have a website? Ii can't find one. Is he the property appraiser in Santa Rosa county? He had permission yet they worry about cars and fingerprints? I wan't to learn more. Any links to Browns websites will be appreciated.

The fact they were acting under the cover of darkness, worried about fingerprints and cars passing by, proves beyond a shadow of a doubt, they knew they were committing a crime!!!!! Since they are "Progressive" Democrats, they will not be charged, ONLY; all others are held to a higher standard!!!! The law makers ("Progressives") can't break the law, it is an oxymoron!!! If anyone is bold enough to accuse them, they will simply change the law retroactively, the accuser will be prosecuted for falsely accusing the pristine reputation of the legalized thieves!!!!
