I am not as troubled by this video as many here are. It depends very much on the specifics of the curriculum. It may very well be that there is content that is objectionable, but I saw no specific examples of it in the video. To learn Chinese language and culture, as a SECONDARY language and culture, is a positive thing. This is, of course, provided that our own language, history, and culture is being adequately taught first – something which I sincerely doubt.
It is baffling to witness the paradoxical nature of our relationship with China. We see the gentleman in the video referring to China as a hostile country, and yet they are our number one trading partner, continuing to enjoy “Most Favored Nation” trading status with us. And, they are our primary source of credit with which we continue to fund our global socioeconomic empire and our ultra-materialistic society. This is, of course, to our ultimate detriment. For example, we continue to borrow trillions from China to fund our huge military presence in South Korea. This is presumably to prevent Communist North Korea, which was heavily supported by China, from invading South Korea. And, we borrow from China, so that we can protect Taiwan – from Red China. The absurdity of this relationship is epic, and it is the United States that is playing the part of the fool. But, I digress.
Unless I see more evidence that points specifically to an socialist indoctrination by the Chinese, I will withhold judgement, and focus instead on the greater, proven socialist threats in California – Nancy Pelosi, Arnold Schwarzeneggar, Dianne Feinstein, and Barbara Boxer among them.
William Penn, love your post. Face the Facts, I’ll pray for you. Texas curriculum outweighs anything going on in CA. It’s our own private cesspool, and has been for decades. Queen pelosi and her friends can have it. They won’t fight the rest of us, they’re peace loving hippies.
I do wish these journalists would give more substance in their reports. What words, phrases, etc. are actually taught in the program? Are the students being taught Chinese or Taoist ideology? Is the bowing n unison something required by the curriculum or by the teacher?
This report raises questions but doesn’t answer them. Is that what journalism is now? Journalists ask questions and we have to all go find the answers or be left wondering?
Send the hot teachers, leave the curriculum in China. Are there no Chinese speaking American educators that can come up with a curriculum we don’t have to sift through? And if there are none, than who on earth is sifting through these?

Obama is already on record for his anti-gun agenda as a State Senator in IL. The one thing I’d like to point out though is here in California. For years the socialists in the overrun Democrat party have attempted to disarm the people. They tried to outright ban firearms possession and when that failed they embarked on a mission to do it by piece meal work.
In those same years the registration of firearms was floated time and again. The National Rifle Association, along with others, warned that this was a step toward confiscation. The leftist uniformally rolled their eyes into the backs of their heads and proclaimed anyone would would believe that was a nut case.
Here in California we got hit with registration and it was forced through by the socialist overrun Democrat party. Bill Lokyer(D) was State Attorney General at the time.
After an adequate time had passed for people to comply with the new registration law they made another law outlawing the possession of those same firearms. The confiscations began, courtesy of State Attorney General Bill Lokyer(D), using the very registration forms that the gullible filled out in their effort to be in compliance with the law. Law abiding citizenry purposely targeted to be disarmed by a socialist regime in Sacramento. Big surprise?

By saying we need to learn every other language and be exposed to every other culture (and religion) but our own in order “to fit in with the global economy of tomorrow”, we are accepting the idea that America no longer will be the economic force to be reckoned with, but some other nation will carry that mantle.
