Personally, I’ve called into C-Span before and got on the air. I wasn’t screened for skin color, political views or the like, only to stay on topic for the question being offered at the time. This was several years ago, but I would imagine not much has changed.
I am amazed at the targeted focus by the left to intentionally forward their agenda by way of having people do the seminar caller, seminar forum poster, seminar letter to the editor thing. The disingenuous exhibited is very prevalent. We see it here daily on these forums from people who flat out lie in their comments, the hiding behind screen names, no sense of honor. They can’t articulate a point nor justify a position and instead use name calling without anything to back it up or relate it to.
For the record, I’m most certainly white and some of my favorite people in government are black. I couldn’t care less the color of their skin and in fact didn’t even know that Justice Clarence Thomas, my favorite of the Supreme court justices, was black until long after he had been placed on the bench. J.C. Watts, Alan Keys, good people in government. Walter Williams, excellent with economics and many a shared view on everything else. I really have to wonder if there is someone out there that actually decides whose views they like based in the color of their skin. If that’s the case I would believe that their are some people with very shallow lives.
The concern for many though is the volume of people of color who apparently do favor leftist views. Could it be that they’ve been the target of leftist politics from the start? Maybe by intent for creating a racist front to attempt to shut down political opposition? It certainly would explain such a thing because otherwise one would have to argue that people of color are somehow genealogically predisposed to be leftists. I’m not buying it.
