Burris Slams Republicans in Reworked ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas’

It was the night before Christmas, and all through the Senate, the Right held up our health care bill, no matter what was in it.

The people had voted a mandated reform, but Republicans blew off the gathering storm. We'll clog up the Senate, they cried with a grin. And in the midterm elections, we'll get voted in. They knew regular folks needed help right this second, but fundraisers and lobbyists and politics beckoned.

So try as they might, Democrats could not win because the majority was simply too thin. Then across every state there rose such a clatter, the whole Senate rushed out to see what was the matter. All sprang up from their desk and ran from the floor, straight through the cloakroom and right out the door. What in the world would be quite so raucous, but a mandate for change from the Democratic caucus.

Gee, that’s really great work coming from the guy who bought Obama’s old Senate seat…

By the way, if this bill does pass, we WILL see rationing of health care and reduced quaity of that care. Just imagine all the lawsuits springing from that. Now imagine how much MORE those lawsuits will be incresing the cost of care.

All this pain and misery brought to you by the DEMOCRATS, and ONLY the Democrats.

sapper   December 22nd, 2009 - 11:29 am

I’m glad this doofus has nothing better to do.

Don't Tread On Me   December 22nd, 2009 - 11:29 am

Have fun Former Senator . . . your days are numbered

Don't Tread On Me   December 22nd, 2009 - 11:33 am

And thanks, MSM, for letting the “American people WANT this reform” lie to stand.
A majority of people HATE this bill and want it dead.

l   December 22nd, 2009 - 11:34 am

COMMUNIST!

FastFacts   December 22nd, 2009 - 11:43 am

Who is keeping them away from their families? Yesterday Sen. McCaskill talked about how sorry she was to not be able to spend Christmas with her family and blamed the GOP. Wait one second, the GOP has no control over this and the Dems have all the blame on what happens because they have 60 votes of the Senate. Either way, even if they had 59 votes, they could still hold it over till a few days after but no they are destroying everyone’s chances of having a Merry Christmas.

So without any partisanship: Merry Christmas to all those in the Senate, Stop Complaining, and get it over with, which ever vote it will be. You are all hypocrites who have the power and complain and point fingers where they do not belong.

NEWSBREAK:
Nancy Pelosi is under investigation today by http://www.americanparchment.com for all the shady deals, bribery, slander, etc that she has done. She will be tried by the people her next election period, except for the fact that her area is full of liberals who don’t care about ethics and just want their agenda passed. #22 of the ‘31 Corrupt Politicians in 31 Days.’

TearEmUp   December 22nd, 2009 - 1:12 pm

I sent several letters to Mr. Burris’ office in regards to health care reform (I live in Illinois) and the only response I received stated as follows “A public option will provide competition that will hold private plans accountable and help moderate the price of health insurance.” That was after I voiced an objection to reform, and was very specific about NOT wanting a public option.

Congress does not listen to us. We are only obstacles to them. We all need to do everything in our power to see to it none of these so called public servants never holds another public office in the future.

Dude   December 22nd, 2009 - 1:50 pm

Wow! Burris is a liar and a moron. Ask Burris if people need help now, why does the bill have benefits that will take years for the people to realize them? What is the hurry then? The people might read the bill for themselves and find out our union health care benefits will be taxed or even lost. I bet this idiot has not even read the bill, and yet just knows it is what the people wanted. He must be pyschic or just Gullible. I wish I was a car salemen and this dude would come walking on to my lot. Look at the CNN polls for crying out loud? The popular support is for our current health care when contrasted with this bill. We have been betrayed!!!

TWO-THIRDS SUPERMAJORITY WAS REQUIRED, NOT OBTAINED; RESUME FILIBUSTERING!   December 22nd, 2009 - 3:22 pm

“The Senate may end a filibuster by invoking cloture. In most cases, cloture requires the support of three-fifths of the Senate; however, if the matter before the Senate involves changing the rules of the body, a two-thirds majority is required. Cloture is invoked very rarely, particularly because bipartisan support is usually necessary to obtain the required supermajority.”

‘Twas the Night before healthcare…

‘Twas the Night before healthcare

and all through the House

Harry’s Minions were stirring

Like rats and a mouse

The acorns were hung by OUR checkbook with care,

In hopes St. Obama soon would be there.

Innocent Americans were snug in their beds,

While visions of union thugs were beating them red.

Michelle in her kerchief, the Prez in his plane,

Had just sat up straight, they both looked insane.

There MUST be abortion— FREE as can be,

We can’t have more children—you MUST agree!

They both started yipping, yelping and cheering,

While watching the Senators conduct midnight hearings.

It looks like the Anointed will get his fire,

It’s not about health care, it’s control they desire.

Everyone will pay and

Doctors will scream!

Marxism will be here

it will reign supreme!

The Young President heard Harry

as he flew out of sight,

Bah Humbug to all,

Go screw yourself tonight!

Good stuff Mike

Burris sounds like Winnie the Pooh bear.

LlightSaber   December 22nd, 2009 - 9:27 pm

The first thing that leaps to mind is the wonder that Burris was capable of writing this. He could barely read it, for God’s sake.

The second thing that struck me was his schoolboy-like behavior. It was as if he was reading a poem for the principal in the annual school performance.

I’m just begging for an adult, somewhere, to take charge of this mess.

junkmaninohio   December 22nd, 2009 - 10:04 pm

He does Illinois proud don’t ya think?

No Obamacare   December 22nd, 2009 - 10:38 pm

I have an idea. Let’s fight this on the media battlefield. Boycott, NBC, CBS, ABC and any other liberal media outlet that refuses to truly inform the American people what’s in this bill and how it will affect their lives should it pass. A major national campaign needs to be organized to hit these people where it hurts. I believe the opposition can only grow against Obamacare if people write the sponsors of these shows telling them they will not watch any of their programming.

HURRAH FOR MIKE!   December 22nd, 2009 - 11:53 pm

Mike, you should go on Glenn Beck Show or similar venue with that PRICELESS XMAS POEM!

Twas the night before Christmas and Burris was an ASS
Who strode to the floor to pass lots of gas
The polls say ObamaCare, the majority don’t want it
But Burris said “the majority, we’ll force this upon it”
When out in the country there arose such a clatter
“We’ll vote your asses out, you’ll see that we matter”
“We’ll go to the polls, despite ACORN disruption
To show you we’re tired of your outright corrupt”
“Especially you Burris, who was not elected”
“You’ll be the first one to have his ass ejected”
“Once all of you slime are removed from our sight
We again can have fredom and justice, OUR RIGHT!”

charles   December 23rd, 2009 - 10:36 am

‘Twas the night before Christmas… and an atheist in Nancy Pelosi’s voting district complained that the Christian cult was too influential in government politics so the Democrats heeded his whining and cancelled all prayer in public places, forbade all symbols of angels or images that depict the Holy Family because such images may offend non-Christians, and forbade Santa from stepping onto or near government property and then passed a decree that was written by their pals in the ACLU which cancelled Christmas, proclaiming that Dec 25 would henceforth be referred to as Winter Holiday and not Christmas Day so that no other atheists would be offended. And Harry Reid said, “And to all a good night as we pass our global health care bill on Christma…, er, Winter Holiday Eve.”

Burris, the clown who bought Obama’s seat. When he doesn’t have his nose up Dxckless Durban’s ass, hes hiding under his desk from reporters. I hear this clown won’t run for a full term and that he might be eligible for a senate pension for the rest of his life. He will be in office for about the same time that Obama was a senator. DISCUSTING, OBAMA and his Chicago mob are politics as usual. Chicago Politics NOW on a national scale. Lets give them ALL a bonfire in 2010, Let them burn…

RobertB   December 23rd, 2009 - 5:41 pm

Even when these people win both houses of Congress AND the White House, they whine. Earth to Burris: Republicans are in the minority. They can’t hold up anything unless Democrats let them. The Dems WANT this thing to go up to the last minute the same reason they wait until FRiday night to shove unpopular legislation down our throats – there will be no news coverage on it until Monday morning.

And this whining about having to work through Christmas Eve…CRY ME A RIVER. There are countless people out there would LOVE to have a job right now, and Democrats are whining because they can’t take a whole week off at taxpayer expense.

POed Taxpayer   December 24th, 2009 - 10:34 am

“Mr. President: T’was the night before Christmas

It was the night before Christmas, and all through the Senate
The right held up our health care bill, because NO ONE knows what is in it
The people had NOT voted for this type of mandated reform
But Republicans battened the hatches for the gathering storm
We have to stop up the Senate, they cried things are grim
And in the midterm elections, let’s get conservatives in
Everyone knows regular folks needed help right this second
But for the Democrats a great crisis beckoned
So try as they might, Democrats just could not win
Then the greedy Democrats cried, Let the PAYOFFS BEGIN!!
Then across every state there rose such a clatter
The whole senate rushed out to see what was the matter
All sprang up from their desk and ran from the floor
Straight through the cloakroom and right out the door

And what in the world would be quite so raucous?
But a mandate for change from the Leftist Democrat caucus
So a great pile of crap came from that clown Max Bacsus
Had answered the call in our hour of GREED
More rapid than eagles, the payoffs they came
And they whistled and shouted and called them by name
On Nelson, on Landfill, On Dodd just to name but a few
Unaccountable options. We screamed, “Yes, we CON” and the spittle it flew!
No exclusions or changes for preexisting conditions
Let’s pass a bill that will cause single payer, alright?
The Democrats all came together after the bribing to fight
For the SCREWING of the American people that Christmas Eve night

And then like a tinkle, I took under the dome
The roll call was closed, and it was time to go home
Despite the brave tactics the Republicans lost
The filibuster was broken, so screw the taxpayer they’ll pay the ‘real’ cost!
And a GREAT PUTRID bill was ready for President Obama
Ready to sign and end health care drama
Democrats explained as their private jets flew out of sight
Screw you suckers, rationed coverage for all, ESPECIALLY our friends on the right.”
