(Under proposed legislation they are curiously exempt).

Well said, Eileen! I’d like to add that if most of the people at the town halls are well dressed that should imply that they are educated and intelligent people as well. So, they obviously know what they are opposed and why they are opposed! Boxer not only needs to go back to Calif., but she needs to wake up and smell the coffee because congress and Obambi have awakened the sleeping giant in America!

Maybe they are well dressed because they came to the meetings from their JOBS where they work hard to pay the witch’s salary & for all the garbage she and her liberal nut job friends dream up!

The concept that congressmen and women should be forced to relinquish their health plan is a red herring and irrelevant since you would not be forced to relinquish yours. The idea that insurance companies could not compete and would be driven out of business is entirely speculative and has no foundation. We have the U.S. Postal Service which (despite Sean Hannity’s rants) does an excellent job, and yet companies like FedEx thrive. The idiot woman holding the, “Sorry, Grandma. No health care for you” sign is either ignorant or a liar since a revised health care package would still give her health coverage only under a different name. This scare tactic that we are going to abandon (or kill) the elderly in some sort of Orwellian society if Obamacare is passed is nonsense and needlessly frightening the elderly to make political points. As such it is immoral.

If you don’t like Obama’s plan for whatever reason…too expensive, too quick, how will we run it, who will run it, too many questions…then COME UP WITH A PLAN OF YOUR OWN! The present system is not working adequately for many, if not most, Americans and is getting worse every year as premiums and health care costs increase. This is something that has to be fixed. Carrying misleading signs, organizing ignorant mobs, and shouting down Congressional representatives is easy. Not one of these people has suggested anything approaching a plan or compromise. They lost the last election and their response is simply, “NO, NO, NO, NO…” Until they say, “No, but I think that this will work better…” they should be ignored.

If you have any ideas on how to handle the health care crisis in this country I would love to hear them. I have my own thoughts on the matter, if you care to discuss them.

So I guess you think that everything is fine and would do nothing. What kool-aide are YOU drinking? If you lose your job or your employer comes to you and tells you that you have to make an increased “contribution” to the health plan or they will have to drop it, what will you do? You say that, “the truth is that MOST AMERICAN ARE HAPPY with their healthcare and they DO NOT WANT the government taking over” as if it was a statement of fact rather than what it really is…your opinion. Private enterprise competes with the government successfully in many areas including the one that I mentioned, the Postal Service. If you are happy with your plan then pony up and you will continue to receive it. The insurance companies will only be too happy to take your money…and charge you more next year when the rates go up…again.

I have no problem with this “free speech” that you mention but only ask that people doing so attempt to be somewhat constructive in their opposition. Thus far what I have observed is the Ann Coulter variety of “free speech” whereby I talk (or yell) louder and faster than you so that you can’t be heard. That is not free speech; that is mob rule.

Actually, I do not agree with plan as it is now presented. I think that they are going too far, too fast. However, I also think that something has to be done and at least the administration is trying to do it and bringing the problem forward for a national debate. The Republicans haven’t offered up any solutions and we would not even be having this discussion if they were in charge.

What these greedy, corrupt politicians aren’t realizing is that these folks showing up at the town hall meetings are their constituents.

Calls, faxes, emails, and talking with these politicians simply results in form letter responses that often times aren’t even on the same subject on which you have voiced your opinions.

VOTE THEM ALL OUT OF OFFICE. 2010 and 2012, make your vote count. And we need to address the issue the media isn’t. The census is mandated to remain under the jurisdiction of the Dept. Of Commerce. Let’s get it back where it belongs and away from R. Emanuel and the ACORN crowd.

Mary M got it right. Any health care plan passed should also apply to Congress and the President. Our founding fathers also believed that any law passed by Congress should apply to them also. The Federalist Papers, very clearly explain the intent of our founders in writing the Constitution. In particular:
In Federalist 57, paragraph 12, “The house of representatives … can make no law which will not have its full operation on themselves and their friends, as well as the great mass of society. This has always been deemed one of the strongest bonds by which human policy can connect the rulers and the people together. It creates between them that communion of interest, and sympathy of sentiments, of which few governments have furnished examples; but without which every government degenerates into tyranny.” Clearly not adhered to by our Congress. They (Congress & the President) have established themselves in a state of royalty akin to those in Europe from whom our forefathers fled and who were above the laws that govern the commoners. An idea…if you have read any of my comments posted on this site you would know my ideas.

First of all, we have the best healthcare in the world and it does not need to be “overhauled” and thrown out!

Granted it has problems and those problems needs to be “tweeked” not overhauled!

My idea…is to take each problematic area and have it worked on by “medical” professionals…not “professional” politicians!

For instance…prescription drugs! Let a group of pharmacists, nurses, doctors who volunteer from all over this nation…not the AMA or any other organization in the pocket of Bilderberg Bush-Obama!

They know what the problems are and can address and come up with a solution. Once it is presented to the American people…and approved by the American people…it should go to Congress for a final bill and then back to the people and then onto the President.

It doesn’t matter how long it takes…we should be in no hurry! We have lived with the inadequacies in the program for a long time now…we should make sure and take more time to get it done and done right…not overnight!

Then move onto another area once the prescription drug portion is complete…emergency rooms? Again, use Emergency room personnel that know the problems and do the same thing.

Each and every portion of our existing healthcare should be gone through thoroughly in a systematic way by “medical” professionals who know of what they speak and the problems first hand!

America…this is what we need a thorough going over of our existing healthcare…not a “under the table” destroy what we have approach before examining all options and whether or not they are even viable.

Why throw the baby out with the bath water…when it is only the bath water that is dirty! Let’s wash out the problems in that baby and keep it after giving it a thorough washing and cleaning!

SOLUTION: NATIONAL REFERENDA

When you see govt servants like Barabara Boxer behave like tyrants, we have to realize there is a something very very wrong with our system.

The problem is that there are no binding national referenda in the United States. Many other countries have it, but not the US. Therefore America’s secret shame is that we do not have a real democracy! That is why American democracy is a joke.

The constitution gave all the power to the 3 branches of govt. and assumed they will keep an eye on each other (”checks and balances”). To keep ultimate power in the hands of
the people, they put in the second amendment. But the three branches have become corrupt, usurped power, and all three branches figured out that it is better to conspire, mug and terrorize the nationand totally ignore the owners, the US Citizens.

So they keep passing laws the against our country and the public and against our will.

But there is a solution to this govt’s war on the nation. It is a constitutional amendment to allow national referenda, so people can pass good laws in the national interest themselves. These laws will supersede laws passed by Congress and cannot be
overturned except on constitutionl grounds by a supermajority of both houses and unanimous vote of the Supreme Court. The people can then still pass it by 80% vote.
Some believe that this right to amend the constitution is inherently vested in the American public. Others suggest an actual amendment.

All laws that affect the nation as a whole, such as raising taxes, foreign aid, immigration, bailouts, and raise expenditure over the rate of inflation, spending, can be required to be passed only by the people by national referendum. We will solve 90% of our problems
this way.

Your family and friends are there to help if needed. You can insure yourself if able if you want. Improve healthcare and our financial position as a nation – tell the government to stay out of healthcare. I am reeling in concern over Our Great Leader’s request for people to notify the White House of “fishy” emails they receive about his health care proposal. I’m not just carping about this. I have a real bone to pick with this cold blooded proposal, to the extent that I’m compelled to get off my perch and rail publicly about this slippery attempt to lure bottom feeders to turn in their chums.

How in the world do they hatch these ideas? And who do those White House types think we are? Suckers, chumps, chowder heads? I knew the minute I read about this request that I smelt something stinky. I just had to come out of my shell and not take my usual koi approach to reacting. I’m not about to clam up and I won’t be mollie-fied by another slimy press conference performance by our “clean” leader.

There is one thing that gives me hope in this whole mess. That is, despite the fact some have not only taken the bait of “universal health care”, but indeed have swallowed it hook, line and sinker, I think we have early indications it’s going to tank. This is because The Big O’s remoras are having to swim upstream against the tide of common sense. The grass roots have sprung up at town hall meetings all over the country. And they’re packin’ ‘em in like sardines. Those meetings have become a fish bowl of politicians’ ignorance, dishonesty and narcissism, with protesters harpooning the arrogance of the self-important politicos who have the nerve to defend not even skimming the bill. The grass roots have shown real spine in confronting the fraudulence of these oily politicans who deny, deny, deny that their goal is a single payer system that will benefit illegals and ration health care for the elderly. What’s really heartening is that even some of The Big Shark’s usual Democrat groupers are part of the protests. And they are beginning to realize they otter be more careful about his whole agenda or they may find themselves up a creek.

Of course, Speaker Nasty Pelosi and her ilk are in a stew (perhaps a bouillabase?) over the protests. They have been trying to convince us that the grass roots are “Astroturf” and an “angry mob” who are “too well dressed” to be legitimate, self-motivated protesters. This, of course, is a red herring. And my reasoned response to the Barracuda-like Esteemed Speaker is: Bite me. And while you’re at it, get scrod. Just because protesters on the left tend to be members of the great unwashed doesn’t mean all American citizens are. Most of these citizens are more “mature” than the losers (read young Democrats) who vandalized and shut down downtown Seattle and set cars afire in a supposed protest of the World Trade Organization. Or the hooligans (read young Democrats) who, ironically, spray-painted swastikas on a gay-friendly Catholic church in the mistake belief that the congregation supported Proposition 8. No, the well-dressed protesters of the health care proposal are from the old school, where a decent appearance is not anathema.

Until The Prez stepped in this mess, the world was his oyster. But now he finds himself in a fine kettle of fish. And even he may be grasping that rather than spawning more legislative successes, this proposal could move him from the frying pan into the fryer.

When this legislation finally does float to the surface upside down, I for one will say “Wahoo!” Holy mackerel, that will be a great day.

3. Why dosnt Canada offer/have some medications but the USA has them.
4. USA hasnt enough doctors, family practice. NOTE when you go to your doctor many times they refer you to a specialist why? because they havnt the time to deal with you and dont want sued if they dont give the correct diagnosis. With millions of more people on the system the price will go way up, MRI’s, Scans,Why? because more and more people will be directed to a specialist with higher costs of treatments ect ect. The only thing that will happen is the price of healthcare will go up and taxes will rise more and more.Also Canadians wont be coming to the USA for emergency x-rays and such which they do daily because they are on a waiting list. If you think they can pass a healthcare bill and make it work your as crazy as the MInnesota people who voted al franken into office. They admit they dont even read the bill, Makes you wonder if they read any bills? vote them all out dems and repubs.

A discussion, indeed a plan, regarding health care is completely moot unless you consider the impact that 20 million non-paying recipients in the form of illegal aliens will have on it.
Hospitals have been forced to close, with little or no assistance from the feds, as a direct result of people using the system that are essentially stealing services.
How’s that going to figure in?
