Wow!, so for every $1,000.00 spent, the blue dogs worked out a deal to save $1.00? Good job, way to hold out!
I have no respect for politicians who can be bought off so easily, especially when we all know that any so-called concessions promised now can be reversed after the vote!

It was supposed to not cost any new money. But now just 900 million instead of a trillion? Gee, imagine my relief. How about we just not add a new huge expense which is destined only to grow bigger and bigger in a few short years. IT IS A STUPID IDEA even if it were totally absolutely FREE so it sure in heck will remain stupid as it follows the typical dem program of ever increasing expenses with few or no real benefits.

I am completely against the current ram-rodding through Congress of
two very significant pieces of legislation: healthcare reform and
energy/carbon reduction. I urge you to VOTE NO on both Bills. These
issues are too important to be rushed through without a thorough
discussion in the public realm, with input from American taxpayers.
We need to get it RIGHT, not just get it done! Additionally, both of these bills are way too complex and expensive (and with too much pork, especially the energy/carbon bill).
1. On healthcare: We don´t need everybody in the country on
Medicare! We must preserve private enterprise and try to reduce
taxes, not increase them. And please: no illegal aliens on my tax
nickel! Finally, any provision that would take benefits away from our
SENIOR CITIZENS in order to try to finance this Health Bill must be
removed, and any “END OF LIFE” COUNSELING that would try to pressure
SENIORS into foregoing health treatment must be not only removed but
strongly CONDEMNED. This Bill is a legislative nightmare that must
not pass.
2. On energy/carbon: Where are the nuclear power plants, the obvious
low-hanging fruit? Nuclear is not the dangerous proposition it
perhaps once was (look at France, et al.). As for carbon trading:
From what I can see, it is not working in Europe (Scientific
American). Also, the major emerging markets (China, India, etc.) are
not going to participate any time soon. Further, WHY PENALIZE
HOMEOWNERS, many of whom are under-water with diminishing home
values, with a scheme to force them to upgrade their houses before
they can put them on the market for sale? This Bill is ill-conceived.
Please take seriously my concerns, as your response to the above will
determine whether you will be removed or voted back into office next
time around.

The entire mortgage crisis all started with the BUSH/GREENSPAN policy of cheap money. Lower interest rates at such a fast rate that $100,000 buying power suddenly turns to $150,000 in months. Subsequently $100,000 homes turn into $150,000 homes in months. Freddie and Fannie had nothing to do with that.

State employees in Georgia have no due process patient protection rights, a negotiated constraint that gives UnitedHealthcare carte blanche to deny medical care and restrict doctor choice with no oversight. Real competition will end the monopolistic stranglehold enjoyed by parasitic insurers like UnitedHealthcare. If competition is the linchpin of free-market capitalism, then why is UnitedHealthcare afraid to compete on the open market against the feds? Limiting choice drives up cost, increasing profit for the health industry, which is why republican hacks defend extortion of the middle class by companies like UnitedHealthcare. Through mendacious scare tactics, lying republicans curry favor and rouse baseless fear by preaching that reform will lead to rationed health care and restrictions on patient/doctor choice. Bull! Contrary to specious talking points propagated by self-serving republicans long on mindless rhetoric, as it stands right now, without real marketplace competition, insurers not only dictate the cost of health care, but they also get to pick and choose who gets coverage and medical care.
