That is amazing! The reason we have breakthroughs like this is because of the great freedom of HC in the US. It is true, under Obamacare, she would be told this procedure was to expensive for someone like her. She would probably be directed to an “end of life” counselor.

Nice how they brush past that this was caused by Big Pharma in the first place. This is what Obama care will be like – rush you through and give you a pill they hope will work and not kill you or blind you. Assembly line medicine – even more than it is NOW!

Maybe all you right wing clowns should know that many innovative medical therapies come from European nations and Asia. Of course you don’t know anything about the subject but that will not stop you from posting nonsensical comments about the evils of “socialized medicine”. The first face transplant occurred in France (Oops!). Patrick states that this procedure was first performed in Italy. Gee, you mean that the good old U, S, of A and our capitalism-solves-everything system wasn’t first? Oh, the horror…

These same doctors will still be practicing medicine under Obamacare. The idea that doctors would quit in large numbers is nonsense. Where else would they go?

So the doctors will just work at a loss and never be able to pay off their loans or office mortgages or employee salaries?

Hmmm, would YOU pay to work? Why would doctors?

We still remember the stories about U.S. doctors who managed to escape in a balloon during the Carter Administration.

The new, regulated healthcare system will make Doctors unable to pay off the hundreds of thousands they need to pay for colleges and universities. Not to mention medicines, reference, equipment, operating costs, etc. Less and less people will go into medicine due to no incentive. In a decade the industry will be stilted and third rate. Who wants to deal with government paperwork and strict procedure? DO YOU?? Did you go into your trade or career because you just want to be surrounded by regulation and paperwork dictating every moment you work and limiting your income to the bone?

Open your eyes. The success of our medical system is because it is lucrative. It CAN make huge money. it’s the same reason our legal system is flowering, causing heavy regulation in Washington–power is profitable, and making profit for doing nothing more than creating law is insanely easy in this country. Regulate law, don’t regulate the creative, the arduous, the visionary, or the productive.

The last time that I checked Europe and the rest of those socialist medical types still had doctors and they still got paid. What planet are you from?

She has definitely used up her health care allotment. Maybe even used some of her husbands. Hope she doesnt get sick after December.

An awful lot of them come here to practice. How many American doctors go there?
