I’m from Texas and conservative but this looks like a couple of white nitwit racists vs a bunch of black folks acting under the delusion of the “New Black Panthers”. I thought the most meaningful part of the story is that the young black man was with two of his white friends, friends he had for a long time. They were initially charged with the killing and were found innocent. Then a “rock hauler” said he might have run him over(no word on his race). If the law is right and the friends were found innocent, how can it be “no justice”? We should be celebrating the friendship these young men shared. It sounded like they practiced how we can “all get along”…a point lost on both groups of protesters
I respect the principal of the protest. That dragging death was brutal and certainly a very painful experience for the family.
As for the race riot, Everytime I see radical whites and blacks rioting with eachother in public, I always think of the times when they collaborated in private:

Ghandis “non-western pacifism” is a myth. Ghandi got his ideas for passive resistance by reading Tolstoys writings on Christ. This sort of communal tension happens everyday in India, there is not a single religious minority in India that hasn’t faced pogroms from the saffron goons (RSS,Shiv Sena,Bajrang Dal, etc. These groups are like the hindu equivalent of the boy scouts, but they are taught to hate.

What happened to this poor young man is horrific. If his family and community do not feel that justice has been served, then they have every right to protest it. Unless it escaped my attention, I didn’t see any of the “blacks” carrying any hate signs. The nazi flag on the otherhand that is being toted by the “whites” is VERY much a hate sign. The two white men were not prosecuted because the death was an accident. They were friends with the black man, got drunk and stoned, and the black man later walked home in the middle of the night. He was hit by a vehicle and killed. I thought they should have been charged with manslaughter and DWI or something equivalent, but then you have a dump truck driver coming forward and saying he may have hit him, just didn’t realize it was a man. So now what does the DA do?

Ghandi could have achieved his success and stature ONLY in the context of opposing a (relatively) civilized western Culture, i.e., the British empire; capable of feeling some shame. Had ghandi tried ‘non-violent resistance’ against the Nazis or Soviets (examples of brutal Western LEFTIST ideologies) or the Red Chinese or Mid-east Taliban/Al-Qaeda/ Iran/ Iraq he would have been beaten, tortured, shot, and ‘disappeared” in 5 minutes flat. We call our White Pride parades and celebrations by a multitude of names like…St Patrick’s Day Parade, Columbus Day Parade, Bastile Day, Fourth of July/ Independence Day (I do not recall any blacks signing the Declaration of Independence OR receiving independence in 1776) , Scottish Highland festivals, Celtic Festivals, Polish Festivals, Polka festivals, Italian Festivals,Thanksgiving etc etc etc. Genealogy was geared towards those whose ancestors arrived on the first boats to Jamestown and Plymouth.
Not to mention how society parades the blond haired, blue eyed person as the symbol of beauty above all others. Or how American history classes generally give a very rose tinted observation from the white perspective, with barely a mention to the minorities who contributed to the country. If all of these things don’t constitute white pride, I don’t know what does. African American’s have a hard time tracing their families more than a few generations because slaves didn’t have last names and weren’t named in census records until after the Civil War.
