Life is beautiful, yet If the health care law isn’t repealed, this would never happen in the future.
Now I’m confused. I thought all this wasn’t possible thanks to our terrible health care system and that’s why the great savior, Obama and company, had to fix the health care system by way of sticking it to everyone and violating rights. This can’t be. It must be an evil Republican plot.

My daughter has hydrocephalus and spina bifada and my wife and I saw those same pictures at 13 weeks, showing that she had no brain development. Her doctor’s prognosis was nothing but gloom and doom and he made sure to let us know that her “quality of life” would be very poor and that she wouldn’t be able to walk or talk or even to interact with us. He went so far as to ask if we had considered termination because it would be so difficult on US and went on to cite the probability of having another baby with this condition. We immediately made it clear to him that this baby was his number one priority, not OUR quality of life. I know lots of prayers were said for little Lucy and by the grace of God, she is now 9 months old, and a laughing and smiling machine and has recently started to babble consonants. Not only that but her physical therapist strongly believes that she will be a walker! Thank you for sharing this story as I can definitely relate.

That is an awesome story. It seems that there are so many stories of gloom and doom nowdays, it is nice to read such an uplifting story. No matter what happens, God is in control. He is a powerful God. He created little baby Bennett, and He has a special purpose for his life.
I give those parents so much credit for giving him a chance at life.

This baby is a miracle and I am glad the parents choose to go thru the pregnancy and not kill this baby. How many would have aborted this gift. I am glad this came out at this time. The pictures are great. Congrats to the loving parents. I would guess if they were liberal they will now be conservatives after hearing liberals say this baby should have been aborted. I have read this vile garbage on Kos and Huffing ton and I am sick of it. I think babies should be given a chance at life. If we were going to abort someone who deserves it then it should be the ones who want to kill babies before they are born like Obama, pelosi and other death politicians. I think if Obama daughters get pregnant under age they should be poster child’s of the abortion policy and kill their unborn babies. At least we would be assured they would not be a Marxist like their grandparents and great grandparents. After the abortion the Obama girls will learn to not play with a child’s life.
Kiss all those “resources” goodbye when Obamacare kicks in completely. You know these kids and old people are a drain on the rest of us and are expendable as they don’t “contribute” enough to society. The reality of this bill has yet to be truly thrown in your face, but it will be.
Forced abortions are on their way. They’ll say the money would be better spent on illegal aliens. Katie Couric’s former husband could afford expensive treatments to try to live, but we will get no chance to survive because they’ll say the same thing.

Strange how all the postings on this story come from conservative God fearing people, where are all the Godless Eugenics supporters? The current administration would not approve of the birth of this beautiful child made in the image of God because this administration wants to use a “life value” formulation to dictate who, when and if treatment is provided. They have a mathematical formula that figures the age, health and potential community worth to determine health care qualifications. To those who support that view I say lead by example and seek out the services of Dr. Jack the Dripper. To the parents of this baby boy, you are fully aware God has blessed you and entrusted you, you passed with flying colors when you placed your faith in God. Sometimes these babies never make it and only God knows the reason why. This baby did make it and I pray he will continue to improve and hopefully one day it will just be a wonderful story he can tell his children.

I wonder which way the parents voted. Under ObamaCare, care this expensive will be rationed. In the future, a baby whose prognosis is this awful won’t be given the resources that little Baby Bennett has received.

so glad that they’ve chosen to accept their wonderful blessing… to nurture another human… for some, they would have easily refused it by terminating a life that they don’t realized that it is alive since they’ve conceived it…
just for the record. obama championed many health reforms in IL where i live and my kids get state funded early intervention. if this child lived here those services would be provided and the parents would have support from very loving and caring professionals. i hope that this family can get the support they need and accept help where it is offered. i am grateful for all the help i have been given and wish those blessings to all babies that need it.
*sigh* You Americans are like little children. Having grown up in a Universal Health Care system, I can tell you it is a wonderful system. Is it perfect? No. Is yours? Far from it. I will never lose my house, be denied care because a greedy insurance company controls my fate or watch a loved one die because we didn’t have the money. There is so much sub-par to your system. And you are blind to it. Never have I begrudged a ‘fee’ that helps me too. A ‘fee’ that will never turn me down. A ‘fee’ that gives me access to all levels of healthcare when I need it.
This baby did not survive because of the healthcare system that watched and waited. He survived because he defied the odds. Ask his parents what kind of bill they will receive at the end of the day.

This exactly what happened to my husband and I. I was 21 week though, and I had to go to pittsburg for a special ultrasound. The doctor walked into our room with tears in his eyes and he told us first, “it wasn’t anything you did!” It was like having my heart ripped out and handed to me. He told us Clayton had Dandy-Walker and would not live to see his 1st birthday. I had 2 days to decide if I wanted to give birth to him and hold him until he takes his last breath. 
(( I struggled so hard because I thought I was wanting to keep him and just being selfish, but I decided I had to keep him. He is 6 years old today and is delayed, but I will never give up on him. I am always looking for any advise from anyone that may have. My advise is to always follow your heart.
