We need more Clarence Thomas’ in this country.
Great job Mr. Thomas.
There a number of things that I’ve said before and I’ll say it again. One, Justice Thomas is by far my favorite Justice because of where his decisions come from. Rights are the individuals most cherished possession. Everyone has the same rights. Justice Thomas comes from a valuing of rights as the utmost important part of freedom and defends them well. The founders of this country would be proud.
Two, given that rights are the property of the individual, associations carry no more strength than the individuals who make up the association. They also carry no less strength due to an association. The right to assemble, freedom of speech, and all other rights that each of us has cannot be violated by way of outlawing an association of individuals right to speak. A business, whether incorporated or any other status, is still made up of individuals and the so called corporate rights are merely a misnomer because those rights are the very basic rights the individual possess.
It seems to me that many people need to learn what constitutes a right and learn the contrast of a right to a privilege. Rights and privileges are natural enemies to each other. Rights revolve around a sanctity as that they cannot be given nor taken away. Privileges are bestowed and can be revoked. One failing we seem to have taken on over the years has been the labeling of privileges as rights. This practice has convoluted the public view and the proper definitions. These things should be taught in our public schools, but instead I have personally heard a college professor proclaim that “Rights and Privileges are identical in meaning and interchangeable in a sentence”. With this sort of thing going on in the education system is it any wonder why we have problems today? Mis-education has allowed laws to be created that quite obviously are unconstitutional. Sadly, the damage done in creating such laws and then the time they are allowed to stand before being reviewed causes great harm to the people.
Seriously folks – have you read CT’ s book ? Read without preconceived notions – it will change you life ! CT is one of the most admirable men on this planet !
Congratulations. You all get the Darwin award! Idiots!!!
Justice Thomas is a great man, a great thinker, and a great Justice. His story
also is amazing, from complete poverty to the Supreme Court. He had a wonderful
family and a grandfather who was tough as nails who helped shape the
wonderful man we see today.
CT is a national treasure.
Question: Is anyone on the internet carrying the full two hours of Justice Clarence Thomas at Stetson University in video?
Arrgy, why is that? Is it CT’s character, ideology, or stance on this particular issue? and why?
… in other words Arrgy, why do we get the “Darwin Award” for admiring CT? (just thought I’d clarify it)
A true American Patriot and example of the opportunities this great nation has provided people of all races and nationalities. Bottom line is, he is not a black man, or and African-American. He is an American!!!!
Clarence Thomas puts the “Supreme” in Supreme Court.
Not even the feminist hordes could take him out. A great man indeed.
Wow – what a beautiful contrast…..Clarence Thomas, putting him on a pedestal………Odumbo, scraping him off the bottom of my shoe.
Outstanding. Isn’t it a pleasure to listen to an individual who actually knows law rather than a Presidential buffoon who pretends to know?
Clear, concise, simple, succinct. Owe-Bama should take a several lessons from Justice Thomas.
Uh OH…Here I am being a uhhh an unracist….hmmm, I’m not sure what this makes me.
I am not gay either, but I have loved this man, for what he has stood for, and what he has gone thru, for years!
Clarence Thomas is a class act and everyone white, black, or anything in between should use this man as an example of what a REAL American patriot is all about!
Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Jerimiah Wright take a look at a real American African hero looks like!
Not one of you bigots resemble him in the slightest!
God Bless you Clarence Thomas for being a real roll model for all Americans!
Hey…
“John Campbell” February 4th, 2010 – 1:02 am,
In answer to your question, “Is anyone on the internet carrying the full two hours of Justice Clarence Thomas at Stetson University in video?”.
My hunch is that if it is not up on YouTube now, it very well could be in several parts in due time.
Also, Stetson itself may have it available. I’d like it myself. Justice Thomas is a real hero of mine. May God continue to bless us and The Court with his tenure.
Really Quick: Interesting how Obama never mentions big unions being the problem that they are. They seem to get around the rules during the Massachusetts election when they made attack ads and pay protesters to hold up signs. Protesters that claimed they were still voting Brown.
SOURCE OF THE MASSACHUSETTS ELECTION: http://www.americanparchment.com
After all the ‘machine’ efforts to depict Obama as an ‘Intellectual’ one can’t avoid comparing the Affirmative Action President with Justice Clarence Thomas.
Thank you Clarence for protecting my First Amendment rights and doing your job!!!

Justice Thomas is a sterling example of a role model for all of us. Work hard, live by your values and stand up for what you believe in! Thank you Justice Thomas for your service to this country. http://www.thefedupamerican.com
Whatever UNCLE TOM!!! …. No one ask you .If he walk thru the inner city they would run him over with a car.
Rational men like Justice Thomas really do drive the mindless, angry left-wing extremists like Arrgy to near-insanity. One reason is because people like Clarence Thomas blow the leftists’ absurd notion – that conservatives are by definition racist bigots – completely out of the water. The fact is that the American left tends to be far more racist, more bitter, more vile, and more hate-filled overall than the mainstream conservative right tends to be. The vicious personal attacks on Justice Thomas are a classic example.
Arrgy once again demonstrates the classic leftist response to logic, reason and a well-stated arguments in support of the Constitution. When challenged with a reasoned argument, the left responds with anger, hatred, ignorance, mockery, ridicule, name-calling, and not a single rational statement, nor a single valid point based in fact. Then they either flee the debate altogether, or change the subject.
Bottom line….if the stupid lousy liberals hate the decision, then I know that it’s good for America.
.
Thanks CT! Clarence Thomas: “If it’s not in the Constitution, they’re just making it up.”
.
Hey “he-lost-his-soul,”
I see you inglish aant no good.
Not to mention the fact your are a bigot.
Clarence Thomas rocks!!!
@he-lost-his-soul
Thanks to you and Arrgy for demonstrating my point. Your timing is impeccable.
Can put myself with-in a yard of where I was sitting-in an upscale bar in Minneapolis the afternoon Thomas won the confirmation vote.
Bought the joint a round of about 20…. only 8 took the offer.
Goofy liberals…. it was free!!! You like Free stuff, don’t-ya?
*he lost his soul, above, is a liberal bigot, btw….
“he-lost-his-soul February 4th, 2010 – 8:17 am
Whatever UNCLE TOM!!! …. No one ask you .If he walk thru the inner city they would run him over with a car.”
Seriously? This is what you felt should be your comment? That “No one ask you”?????
He’s a Supreme Court Justice – his job is to answer questions that are asked of them. – he also was being asked questions in the clip…….DUH! Frickin’ DUH you lame arse Liberal Troll!
And then true to form the tolerent left with a threat to his well being. So much for inner city people or leftists supporting a brother who’s made it. The real Uncle Tom is Obama. CT is a real brother – Obama is half and just tries to be down wit the struggle! LOL!
Stupid Liberals – go back to sleep and let the adults fix the mess you’ve made.
he-lost-his-soul is a h@nky troll.
It will be tragic for America if and when the new appointees to the court tilt its balance away from where it is now!
It appears that Arrgy and he-lost-his-soul have left the building. Typical drive-by tactics – spew a bunch of ignorance and hatred punctuated by immature name-calling; make some idle threats; and then run like hell without making a point or defending their position with logic.
Perhaps Michael Savage’s claim that liberalism is a mental disorder is more than just book-selling hyperbole.
Stupid Liberals – go back to sleep and let the adults fix the mess you’ve made.

Wow i had no idea george bush was a raving LIBERAL, before this year he was incharge for 8 long years and as we can see nothing ROSIE came out of that, I think you need to put the pain killers and alcohol away, because even you had to laugh at that line you wrote.
PLEASE READ THE TRUTH ABOUT THE TILLMAN ACT:
In defending the recent SCOTUS ruling on the FEC campaign finance case, Justice Clarence Thomas mentions The Tillman Act of 1907 that banned corporate contributions to federal candidates. Justice Thomas makes the following statement: “Go back and read why Tillman introduced that legislation. Tillman was from South Carolina, and as I hear the story he was concerned that the corporations, Republican corporations, were favorable toward blacks and he felt that there was a need to regulate them.â€
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/02/04/us…scotus.html?hp
So, as he suggested, I DID go back an read about Ben Tillman. Here is what I found:
The Tillman Act, passed in 1907, banned corporate contributions in federal political races. The Act is named for Senator Benjamin Ryan “Pitchfork Ben” Tillman (1847-1918) (D- SC), one of the most despicable men ever to serve in the U.S. Senate and a man who, it can fairly be said, did more to put in place the Jim Crow system in the South than any other single person. As a young man coming of age in the post-War South, Tillman was a leader of the “Red Shirts,” a terrorist paramilitary group organized to attack and intimidate Republicans and blacks. In 1876, the Red Shirts’ campaign of murder, violence, and fraud led to the defeat of South Carolina’s integrated reconstruction Republican government. Arguing that, “The negro must remain subordinated or be exterminated,” Tillman openly called for the murder of blacks in order to, “keep the white race at the top of the heap.” Tillman was elected South Carolina Governor in 1890, and created South Carolina’s first literacy test for voters, as well as promoting various property and educational requirements for voting. While in office, he once pledged to personally “lead a mob in lynching a negro.” After all, “the negro,” he claimed, was “a fiend in human form.” For his services, South Carolina sent him to the U.S. Senate, where he served from 1895 until his death in 1918.
Does all this have anything to do with the substance of what may be Tillman’s most enduring legacy, the Tillman Act? Not in any obvious way, although the Tillman Act aimed to cut the power of northern industrialists, whom Tillman hated in part because of their more liberal attitudes on race.
As we have often noted, and will explore in other posts about the Tillman Act, today’s reformers, with their restrictions on campaign giving and spending, largely share this distrust in the ability of the electorate to discern good arguments from bad and to vote for the policies they prefer. And because they don’t trust the electorate to make good decisions, today’s “reformers” feel compelled to try to shape the opinions people can hear, to gently guide the “masses” to the proper conclusions. Ben Tillman may be forgotten – sorry Ben, you’re just not presentable enough any more to be the spokesman for the cause – but his distrust of the citizenry lives on.
- Ben Tillman: Forgotten Founding Father of “Reform” 2006
Ben Tillman defined his world against the revolutions of emancipation and Reconstruction that had overtaken it in his youth. White men were supposed to exercise productive, independent mastery over individual households and Southern society as a whole, but that mastery seemed to face daunting obstacles at every turn. Black laborers aspired to autonomy. Northern corporate interests–the “money power”–strangled the Southern economy. Republicans plotted to reestablish political dominance over the region. Abetted by a handful of traitorous white Southern men, these forces were slowly forcing the region’s productive white men–”the farmers,” Tillman called them–into “hopeless servitude” or perhaps even bloody revolution. Only by mobilizing beneath the banner of “white supremacy” could these men defeat their foes and create a peaceful and prosperous social order. – Ben Tillman and the Reconstruction of White Supremacy 2000
One Man against the many sheep that bla, bla, bla.
To hell with precedent..the CONSTITUTION rules. When I was much younger..I bought into the Constitution is a living, breathing document..Took me awhile to understand that that lie was a tool of the left..so they could corrupt the gift our Founding Fathers left behind to protect us from ourselves. I am thankful there are men who will protect it.
If you understand the essence of Barack H. Obama’s objection to the overturn of McCain-Feingold, you can understand more about the vision that Barack H. OBama has to “transform” the USA into a “Worker’s Paradise”.
No thank you, Mr. President!
Clarence Thomas is extremely articulate. That he is on the SCOTUS Bench indicates to me that God still finds favor with the USA in spite of our collective thumbing of our noses at Him by allowing people to murder their own babies.
Here’s a great article from Newsmax on The Fight to Save America
http://newsmax.com/BenStein/Stein-America-Obama-dreemz/2010/02/03/id/348845
WOW…he doesn’t even have a negro dialect:)
yo yo yo, Clarence Thomas ain’t no brotha ’cause he use diction when he speak and dun support free-bees from massa. my man need a gold chain, some hoes, a black dialect and a dozen babies on the dole. til then, i’m stickin with my man Obama. word!
Justice Thomas has had to battle against the reaction of many who call him Uncle Tom and want to dismiss him as an Affirmative Racism Jockey.
They are just idiotliberals, being themselves.
Except for the unwarranted criticism of the leftist moonbats, this man has earned everything he has gained in life double.
Every time I hear him speak I am blown away all over again.
If I had been president I would have made him Chief Justice instead of the new kid, what’s his name?
I believe in the Constitution of the United States. I believe in the protection of individuals’ rights. One man, One vote. I do not think this was a good decision. Corporate money will buy elections. This is a liberal decision made by conservative judges, and all of you who think this was a victory for individual freedoms are grossly mistaken. This decision has reduced the freedoms of individuals, and added power to the special interests. This is a victory for “special interests”. No other way to see it. I believe in the death penalty, small government, term limits, and lower taxes. Go ahead and call me a liberal. WHATEVER!
Justice Thomas ; you sir make me as an adult to be an american thank you and GOD BLESS YOU.
oxobend, people were calling you a liberal on the Palin video too for saying Palin should call out Rush Limbaugh on his “sexist” statement. Now you’re arguing that free people don’t have the right to assemble/incorporate and collectively petition their government for grievances? If you’re hearing people call you liberal, maybe you ought to reconsider your thoughts on some issues.
Brilliance, tempered with humility, morality and unpretentiousness, is so rare as to be beautifully arresting. Thank you, Justice Thomas, for remaining a true and genuine reflection of an American Supreme Court Justice.
Indeed, may God Bless you.
“The irony is that Obama’s campaign was bankrolled by unions and the FEC is currently investigating allegations that it received millions of dollars in contributions from as many as 50 different foreign countries and various interests, such as Hamas.” -americanthinker.com
Andrew B., please we need more reporting on this topic. Thank you.
To Linda C in Cal AMEN!!
“Congratulations. You all get the Darwin award! Idiots!!!”
Arrgy, a liberal is more likely to favor and follow (to the letter) Darwinism than any conservative, so who are you actually think you’re trying to insult?
“We need more Clarence Thomas’ in this country.”
Got that, Calvin. Interestingly, there was a time in this country when most of our government was made up of the likes of Justice Thomas. And the deterioration of this nation seems to have continued in direct proportion to the disappearance of such men (and women)–
I forgot he was black for 5min 50seconds. There is a god.
I find it interesting that we conservatives adore Justice Thomas and what he stands for and praise God for this gift to America (libtards call him an Uncle Tom) but when we criticize Obama and denounce all he stands for – we are racist and hate black people. Its not about race drive-by libtards – its about justice and the American way. Read the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. You might learn something. Find “separation of church and state” “right to an abortion” or “right to health care” in the constitution and I’ll give you a thousand bucks…
My point is one of “consistency”. If we are going to stand on “principal” you just can’t have it both ways. You can’t scream “sexism” when your picture is put on a magazine cover dressed in a jogging suit, and then let the defacto leader of your party make a dumb sexist statement that he loves the view when behind women. Althought this statement made by Rush would be ok in the men’s locker room, he has no business saying such things on national tv. If you can’t see the hipocracy in all of this then I would say, “you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink”. Die of dehydration, I don’t really care. The real issue here is, “if it weren’t for SOME conservatives, we would have a lot more conservatives. I like SUBSTANCE, not image. I like PRINCIPAL, not just what is politically expediant. Talking the talk is not good enought for me, you have to beable to walk the walk also. Oh by the way, why don’t we just let the corporations vote too.
Money = votes. Or haven’t you yet figured out how the American political system works?
