What do you expect from a crack head president and a crack head attorney general???

SuperSarge229   March 21st, 2009 - 3:35 pm

Legalize it.
Regulate it.
Tax the living daylights out of it.
Recession over, or at least greatly reduced.

The only problem is that this is a nation of people who want to control what everyone else does, instead of just taking care of him or herself. Freedom is just a word that politicians use in speeches to sound inspirational.

True freedom would have most people, liberal or conservative, shaking in their boots, praying for someone to come save them.

It’s good to see common sense at work in the White House. SuperSarge229 is right. Legalize it, regulate it, heavily tax it. Mexican drug lords are on a killing spree to keep illegal profits from U.S. bound marijuana flowing. Legalizing it will gut the black market.

Most conservative Southerners, who constantly complain about “Yankee oppression”, ironically try to tell other people what they can ingest, smoke, etc.

way to go   August 21st, 2009 - 10:12 pm

Obama sucks ass. So does Holder. But!!!, its about time. Let us control our own bodies.

SuperSarge:

The problem is, the people who used to get busted for selling illegal marijuana will now get busted for selling UNTAXED marijuana.

Bobarian   August 21st, 2009 - 10:17 pm

Rob, it’s not conservative Southerners who outlawed trans-fats.

Yeaaaaah Duuuuuude   August 21st, 2009 - 11:23 pm

I wondered what was behind WhatTwatTwat’s irrational rants. I guess DailyKos and DemocraticUnderground have crashed tonight and she has no where else to do the troll-squat.

The problem with idea of “tax the hell out of it” is that you will encourage an underground economy. This, of course, does not change or solve anything. It will only allow the rich to avoid punishment.

You Know It   August 22nd, 2009 - 2:58 am

You know the tax would be very high per gram or ounce and there will be just about as much traffic to avoid the tax as we see now not to mention the violence. Most users are not rich people who can afford an additional expense for tax. It will definitely create government drug lords who are getting rich just like street dealers do now.
Why add another layer of degeneracy to an already marginal society.

joey   August 22nd, 2009 - 3:12 am

The point is that everyday we are oppressed by the govt drug dealers (batf, dea, etc) we are slaves to the nazis who want to control us from cradle to grave. That’s not freedom, it tyranny.Everyday that goes by with some pig forcing me or imprisoning me in anyway is a violation of my freedom. The pols and cops who make all this illicit money from the war on the people are the true criminals.

Note how that moron Drudge has a link on his page stating “Mexico Legalizes Drug Possession…”
Yet the page it links to clearly states that Mexico has decriminalized possession of small amounts.

That, in a nutshell, is how easily people are being preyed on, and manipulated by mass media.

1. These media don’t even get their facts right.
2. They blatantly lie.
3. They don’t care: In fact, I emailed Drudge hours and hours ago, but the lie remains on his page!

How man poor devils are in the prison system for minor drug offences, while the prisons don’t even have room for sociopaths who get out on early release. Drugs are not a problem. Criminalizing people is the problem.

Exactly. Hey guess what? If pot is legalized, I can grow it in my yard. Im not paying some stupid tax to the government when I can grow it myself for next to nothing. This whole “legalize it and tax the hell out of it” argument is shaky at best. Why dont we just legalize it and call it good? We might not make alot of “tax” money but we will SAVE billions by no longer arresting 700,000 people a year in a pointless and costly drug war.

us and them   August 22nd, 2009 - 12:47 pm

Let’s face it when you get caught now with small amount most times your given a slap on the wrist and a fine. Legalization will never happen with big money lobbyist that build and maintain prisons lining the pockets of the already bloated politicians.

Bobarian   August 22nd, 2009 - 6:46 pm

Wow, “us and them”. You must be the poster child for the Keep Austin Quarantined movement.
