I have never written on any blog, but it is time to stand up and be heard.
I just re-read the Martin Luther King “I Have a Dream” speech. I grew up in Birmingham during the sixties. I saw the hatred, the despair, the anger. It angers me even today. I am white, conservative, and 60 years old. For those that are ill informed the racism in this country was not coming from the majority of conservatives or the Republican party, rather
the south was run by Democratic political mob bosses. Much as we have today.

The media at that time reported the atrocities and the lies of those in charge. Did the media report that the these riots were born of frustration and the desire to be heard? Absolutley!!! They did not fall prey to the mis-information of the Politics of the day. They did not
call the movement an “astro-turf” movement. Shame on the majority of today’s media. They have become the lap dog’s of the Political bosses rather than the Woodward and Bernstein of the sixties.

The following is an excerpt of the “I Have a Dream ” speech. Read it. Absorb it. Live it. Love it. Let freedom ring! Let the voices “of the people” be heard. May this country remain “for the people, by the people,
the land of the free and the home of the brave.

“I have a dream today.

I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight, and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together.

This is our hope. This is the faith that I go back to the South with. With this faith we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope. And if America is to be a great nation this must become true. So let freedom ring from the prodigious hilltops of New Hampshire. Let freedom ring from the mighty mountains of New York. Let freedom ring from the heightening Alleghenies of Pennsylvania!

Let freedom ring from the snowcapped Rockies of Colorado!

Let freedom ring from the curvaceous slopes of California!

But not only that; let freedom ring from Stone Mountain of Georgia!

Let freedom ring from Lookout Mountain of Tennessee!

Let freedom ring from every hill and molehill of Mississippi. From every mountainside, let freedom ring.

And when this happens, when we allow freedom to ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God’s children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual, “Free at last! free at last! thank God Almighty, we are free at last!”

Stand up, be heard.
Remember the Alamo.
Remember Pearl Harbor.
Remember 9/11.

My husband is a SEUI member. We despise everything about SEIU but my husband is forced to be a member or lose his job. We are absolutely appalled that SEIU and Obama are sending out thugs to physically assault elderly folks. We have made it clear to the filthy SEUI commies to never contact us for anything. The mere mention of SEUI infuriates me; they take hundreds of dollars every month from us to support an agenda that we are completely against. They have increased their membership with illegal aliens and then raised his dues to help pay the illegal aliens dues because they don’t make as much money. I hate SEUI!

I JUST HATE THE SERVICE EMPLOYEES USEFUL IDIOTS!! I can’t think of a word filthy enough to describe them. They are that awful. I hate them!

My husband retired from the military and we have TRICARE which is a government run health care. I love it. I have been in the hospital 3 times since June for A Fib and having my heart shocked and a kidney cyst. My husband has been to the emergency room 3 times in the last month for seizures. Each time we paid a co pay of $25.00. We have not had to put out a lot of our own money yet. We have had excellent care and I don’t understand why the rest of the country can’t have this kind of option. I think god we have this socialized medical benefit. Never of us will be able to get medicare until we hit 65. We also had living will done a couple of years ago. It cost us $100.00 for both of us. Everyone should have a living will. Remember when the republicans in congress interfered with the Schiavo case? That was enough for me and my husband. We didn’t want any dang republican telling us what and when to have our tubes pulled.

Dear Wendy Tower…better known as a Democratzi operative…if what you say is true (which I doubt), good for you and your husband.

But what you are saying is to “hell with the rest of you…we got ours…good luck to you”!

If someone was stepping off a curb into the path of a oncoming bus, I would yell. People know when they are being lied to. The Public Healthcare Option will not be run on even a breakeven basis. It will be cheap and subsidized and care will be substandard. “Greedy” employers will transfer employees to the cheap stuff. It will be the end of private insurance. I pleased that you have Tricare. As you know, the military salaries are lower that civilian counterparts. My husband was always told that is why we have the medical benefits like Tricare. Well, hang on, because your are about to get a little shock when you transition to Tricare for life, if it even exists under ocare.
TRICARE FOR LIFE’S FUTURE…. TRICARE For Life was instituted to correct the broken promise that military retirees would receive free healthcare coverage for life and it covers the Medicare co-pay.

Now a heavy assault has begun on Veterans/Retirees’ benefits to pay for other programs our President promised during the campaign. And it is a high priority of his administration. The one item of most interest to Retired Military is in Article 189. If approved by Congress the first assault wave would hit in 2011 and would hit hard. It would initiate cost sharing to require retirees to pay the first $525 of medical cost and 50% of the next $4,725 for a first year cost of $2,888 per person.
It would be indexed to increase with inflation. A reason given for this action (for PR effect) is “overuse” by Retirees.
